Dental Hygiene (Not as bad as you think)
maddcheese (DayZ) replied to green_machine's topic in General Discussion
Its an idea but seems like a lot of work for such a small detail in human life -
you have to take into account how many shots they fired (how many takes), and how experienced these people are. Adding a trimmed limit on the sights would get rid of unexperienced assholes who shoot bambis because they feel like it. Most people wouldnt bother in shooting a can from 1000 meters away expecially if it would give their cover away. (sorry for mixing like 2 points in 1 sentence. English fail)

Are they gona make the map bigger then 255km?
maddcheese (DayZ) replied to Famous123's topic in General Discussion
why would one want to spawn in the middle of the forest with no food, no water, and no human interaction? It would take away from the game entirly, I think coastal spawns should remain. -
So simple yet a great motivator you have mah beans sir

right but no one really has the skill or energy to use one over a sniper that does all the work for you

this would prove to be a dull experience since there is no crafting

lol balotafield is the shit though :P -
Quick suggestion! (extremely important for obvious reasons)
maddcheese (DayZ) replied to DatHoneyBadger's topic in Suggestions
this idea would be good if you didnt slap it together in 2 minutes -
No what im suggesting is that snipers should have a trimmed limit on how far they can shoot
-
yea but i mean like when sniper do come out, people shouldnt just be able to shot someone 1k away. it kinda discourages scavenging
-
this is an ok idea but the flaw in this, is that people will exploit the login time when logging in at balota airfield and in prison buildings, it will give no warning to those actaully inside the building
-
Dammit you beat me to this discussion... but beans for you

I feel like i'm going to get burned in the ass on this suggestion by a lot of people but just hear me out. I have several friends who have played the Dayz mod while it was in its peak and quit within a week. why? snipers. Sniping is all the buzz in this game, and trust me im not totaly against sniping either, I just really hate snipers that can snipe you from 800-1000 meters away. sure it would take away from the realism because there are snipers that shoot that far, but most people (especially newbys) absolutly hate them because it makes places like Cherno more hazardous and ultimetly a waste of time to enter because there is some asshole sniping from the hill with high tech equipment killing fresh spawns. Cherno should remain a close quarters sector on the map thank you if you even considered reading this post its one of my 5 minute put together ideas.

lol yes a very cruel way to hurt someone without killing them

Some ideas regarding currency as food and cannibalism
maddcheese (DayZ) posted a topic in Suggestions
O.K. so i've been reading the Dayz forums and the Reddit forums and i've noticed a lot of fuss about Cannibalism. Let me just sya this... Love the idea. The only true flaw I see in adding it in is, isnt there already enough food in the game? I mean like when ever someone sees rotten fruit they dont pick it up, why would they eat someone? It will lack the tough decision making that resorts people to cannibalism. I was also reading another topic regarding a perk system and reward system by my friend Slyguy. He suggested that you should be rewarded for not just killing people or the ammount of time you survived, but for the amount of food you have in your inventory. If there is less food it will be worth more to the player than just going out and killing people. Food could also turn into a form of currency without the game. This would add a new dynamic of trading the game. Players could set up theyre own player towns with a player market that people would have to defend from incoming bandits. I think this would be a succeful transition considering that we have seen a similar dynamic in the Dayz mod Epoch. incorperating these ideas together could prove to be a fresh and exiting outlook on survival gaming.
