It's very grey lol imo the night time in DayZ is quite bad. No-one want to play a pitch black screen. But then again just making everything black and white or grey isn't the answer imo. I saw a photo awhile back of a guy who messed around with the colours and brightness (probably used photoshop or something). It looked quite good.

Is there a tournament scene for DayZ like CoD, CS, Starcraft 2, LoL, Dota? No Is there gonna be one? No. Because there are no Winning conditions or failure state. It has no rounds, timer or point system. Therefore the game is not competitive.

There are too many elitist twats in this thread. There's a reason why the majority of people play 3rd person and why epoch is the most popular game mode... Because its BETTER. You can shit on it as much as you like, but it doesn't change the fact. The Day Z you want will not happen. Your a vocal minority.

One battery size is enough. A couple of different bullet calibres is enough. I want to play a GAME. Not a micro-manage simulator.

I'm waiting for this patch to go to Stable Branch. There's way too much rubber banding in EXP at the moment for me to play. I'll stick to playing Dawngate for the time being.

Private hives and Modding will happen. So there's little point in debating the fact to be honest. Without the inclusion of 'Custom' Maps and Game-modes DayZ will be irreverent in 4-5 years time. There has to be variety in the game, otherwise people grow bored quickly. I'll cite Skyrim as an example. Its a great game....BUT!! it would not be as popular now if not for the fact you can mod it too all hell. It keeps the game 'fresh and new' for longer. (I know it's a single-player game I'm using as an example but the fundamentals are the same). I look forward to there inclusion personally.

These white-knighting fanboys..... O my god. The brand loyalty here is outrageous. You owe DayZ and BIS nothing. Why are you defending this? BIS are not going to give you a job in games design if you white knight them :) This thread and parts of this forum show why developers are using the paid early access 'Alpha' method. So many people willing to throw money at unfinished products(and yes I am clearly one of these people because I own the game) and thanking developers when they 'update a game' and put more bugs into it than were there previous(I do NOT do this though what so ever). I'm definitely with TotalBiscuit on this issue!! Early access and Pre-orders have done NOTHING to improve the games industry. If anything...they have made it worse.

At the very least people should spawn all across the coastline. Spawning everyone on the east coast is too small of an area, especially when we get those 100 man servers. I'm in favour of random map spawn locations.

I'm English so I say 'Zed' but I say Day Zee because it sounds better than Day Zed tbh.
