New models for DayZ--<Enjoy>--!
Radio Friendly replied to Hebrew Melvin's topic in General Discussion
So why exactly is variety a bad thing? Or did you want everyone to have either an M4 or a Mosin forever? Another fun way to look at it: More weapons and ammo types means less players with fully loaded weapons because they can't find the ammo for the weapon or the weapon for their ammo. -
Jumped off the first set of stairs in a barn thinking that surely a 3-4 foot fall would not harm me. Broke my legs. Killed myself.
-
Maybe, I wasn't really referencing this exact situation in the OP but rather the comment that "people walking around in mil gear with a gun out" are automatically KOS targets because they're trying to kill you.
-
I walk around in my military gear with my dallas mask on and my M4 at the ready. I've never KOS'd anyone, and in fact only killed one person in my time so far in standalone. You'd think that a vetern player like yourself should realize that everyone who's played this game for more than an hour or two and knows where to look is rocking mil gear and M4's and any smart player is going to have their weapon ready for self defense because people are going to fire on them for no reason. It's not a "threatening stance" it's being prepared to defend yourself from the KOS gank squad which you seem to be a part of.

Is the amount of PvP due to the difficulty of PvE
Radio Friendly replied to adwilk1231's topic in General Discussion
The volume of PvP is probably due to the total lack of PvE activities and total lack of threatening zombies. The fact that human players are the greatest risk to your own life will never change, however, and they will always be the most dangerous. -
Long Range Scopes are pretty rare, especially considering you need a pristine one, and depending on how badly its damaged it can actually make your aim worse than stock iron sights. Some things you'll have trouble finding anywhere but military bases and airfields like the tactical vests, but they spawn like crazy in those locals so it's not like they're super rare... you just need to look in the right places. Same thing goes with all the firearms.

Fit to Fight, to stop overuse of firearms, maybe helping Kos
Radio Friendly replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
Assuming excessive gun use is a problem I think the best way to handle it is to once again just make zombies a bigger threat. We'll see how it plays out when there are 5x~ more zombies, but I honestly think that if you're firing your M4 in a city with no suppressor you should be swarmed plain and simple. That will at least curb city deathmatch a bit, I think. -

Not really... if firing low recoil weapons. Firing the M4/pistols all day long would really have no effect as far as I'm concerned. I used to shoot trap/skeet though with a 12 gauge and on tournament days where we'd be shooting for like half the day, you do really start to feel it after like 100 rounds or so and if we were to continue shooting for a period after that I could easily see my shoulder really starting to hurt. But I mean...100 rounds from a 12g is a lot, and even at that point I'd say its more discomfort than pain. It'd take a serious amount of additional rounds I think before I'd get to the pain point.
