I read the whole thing, especially the part about cramming in all the features now, broken or not. fixing some bugs along the way but not really fixing the majority of them until beta when all the features that were added can be polished. To me, this makes sense because they need to know server loads, communication requirements and how the engine will respond. I agree with the OP that if this is how the zopmbies are going in to stable soon, then it will make testing a lot more difficult, but i do not agree that the system needs to be removed. They really need to keep adding as much as they can so that they can finally get to the point where the palceholders and bugs can be fixed and polished (get to beta) as fast as they can. the frustrations of testing alpha is nto for everyone, I'm not saying "so stop testing or uninstall or just leave" or anything of that sort. What I am saying (or paraphrasing what the dev said0 is that alpha gaming/testing is going to get very frustrating. it is going to break things, it's going to be a pain in the ass. Be patient. all opinions are welcomed and the devs are paying attention. i don't know what the final Zombie respawn mechanic will eventually evolve in to and these complaints may actually help that evolution, but out right removing it because ti's not perfect doesn't seem to make sense to me. The OP doesn't read as a critique to me, it reads a lot more like a complaint out of pure frustration. That's what it looks like to me. So I'm thowing in another perspective backed by the Developers "plan" and how they are trying to set expectations going forward. maybe from those two perspectives we can turn this thread in to a meaningful discussion?

i did put this in the description - "Technical difficulties: I had major Audio issues during the opening section of the video that I was unaware of during recording. I did my best to correct the issues but the start of this part sounds really bad. I apologize for that. The audio issue is eventually resolved in Part one and through out the rest of the videos to be released at a later date."

what I think I am witnessing is different factions of the user community defining what is and what is not the correct way to play dayz based on their own opinions. it's a whole lot of reading so I didn't read every single post here. some of you make some very good arguments others don't seem to make much sense. my question is this. what is the correct way to play dayz ? I've never seen anything posted by the development team or Bohemia Interactive defining the correct way to play dayz. my best guess is to play it anyway you want as long as you are not exploiting the game with third-party cheats or taking advantage of current bugs in a dirty way to give yourself an unfair advantage. in other words if you are not putting yourself at risk for banishment then you are playing it correctly.. I've caught shut from people when I post about my adventures playing as friendly and I catch sir from people when I make a post about joining non kos servers to kos. Everything from being pscyo-analyzed to being called some serious derogatory names. Everyone expects people to play the way they want them to play and there seems to be very little respect towards other peoples playing styles. I have played many different ways and I'm always looking for new ways to play. Sometimes I just feel like kos'ing, someone not. Sometimes I seek out interactions and sometimes I avoid everyone. Someone's I pay full servers, sometimes I play empty ones. I have yet to experience the right way or the wrong way to play. The only wrong way I see is taking advantage of hacks or bad glitches like wall glitches to kill players who can't kill you due to the glitch. I don't understand the mind set that dictates one play style is better than another or madness someone better at the game than someone else. I personally never used hand cuffs, yet they are in the game for a reason. Is it wrong to hand cuff a person's avatar and force feed then poison? Then why can I do it in the game if I do choose? Why is kos so bad and frowned upon? In the end, I think it's the person who does not explore every aspect of the game that us losing out in every experience possible. But that doesn't make it right or wrong. It's a fictional simulation on a fictional event. Ps- hate posting from cell phone. I'll try to correct stupid typos when at pc.

I play DayZ SA Alpha because it is open ended enough to allow me to play any way I want and has just enough content to make it enjoyable. I also enjoy finding bugs that I do not see reported and reporting them there by helping the development process. I hope my first reason never changes. A game where you truly write your own story. If DayZ SA is and will remain a crappy game, then it is just the crappy game I love to play. 500 plus hours in and I'm not bored yet.

So I guess some folks are so hell bent on not being able to find loot and being KoS haters that they find the need to dedicate a server for it. Who wants to join me in some KoS fun?

Both but I tend to be more aggressive. I pay passive when I really want to hear up as much as possible on a full server. Which is where I find most of my heart thumping moments. Aggressive brings about more action for me and that seems to be the way many groups I pay with like to go. And I enjoy playing with others more than alone.

A new spawn, a new life. This one hour adventure has been edited down from 10 hours in elektro, holding down a location on the LLJK server where Elektro though Kamy were declared an aggression free zone patrolled by police and military personnel, no Bandits allowed. So we decided to play as Bandits, in Elektro, on their server. What good is it having that job if no one ever challenges you? Well, first thing, i give props to those guys. They played us well and hard. Their admins allowed us to stay and play that way (no kicking, no abuse (from them)) and they kept it real and kept it challenging. A great bunch of guys. We all had fun. The guys I joined up with for this challenge and I held that location through 2 server resets although you only see one at the end of the video. I was able to get it down to about an hour long. There is a kill/death counter on screen. this is DayZ Stand Alone Alpha, stable branch February 2014. This is also the first time I played with many of these guys. i just recently met them via "The Sheriff of Berenzino" (http://youtu.be/qB0_irMUWTY) whom I also recently met when I decided to find him on-line and play as a good guy a few times. I'm now gaming friends with several of these guys and no, we're not always Bandits. My DayZ motto is - A new life = a new adventure. I wanted to record a new adventure... I started as a fresh spawn. My story was this, the last thing I remembered, I was at a bachelor party then I woke up on the beach. New spawn, Kamy, Full server. Head to Bereenzino, take the coastal road. First encounter, A fully geared guy. I totally played up the panic, "Hey military guy! Can you please tell me WTF is going on? Told him my story, and he listened, and played along. Ended up giving me a can of food and wishing me well in these horrid times. He left me with "God Bless." His name is "Shields". Thank you shields, I will never forget you. Second encounter, I get held up by a bunch of guys fully kitted in odds and ends gear, all wearing red helmets. They surrounded me and began to wiggle and chant some weird shit. I totally played up the disoriented starving guy who last recalls a bachelor party and woke up on the beach. I told them about Shields. They made me take off my pants. One of them wanted to force drink me some Alcohol tincture. I kept thinking, "Dammit, this is going to be a short video..." When I was reluctant, he said look, it's safe, and drank some himself. So I agreed fearing for my life thinking I would survive. I drank it, then they made me drink water until I puked, THREE TIMES! Then fist fight another Bambi, We both got knocked out, I woke up first. Then the other guy, then we fought again and I went down. I woke up naked. These guys gave me my cloths back and started chatting with me, asked if I wanted to join them so I did. The other guy ended up being one of theirs. We heard gun fire in the distance and took shelter in a nearby house, sharing stories of how I came to Russia and the bachelor party. They were begining to warm up to me. But most importantly, i was still alive, and these guys were pretty funny. They gave me a magnum loaded and some extra ammo. Gun fights and revenge hunts...looting and running, oh the running..... I did end up getting sick hours later and when the server reset, I came back a Bambi with nothing and quickly joined up again for more of the mayhem (they invite me in to their teamspeak - Yes, I think I'm going to survive the night!) And the night carried on. I went raiding with them all night, we got in to gun fights, had casualties, etc.. Fought fully geared as well as killed insane fist throwing Bambis. thye decided on a name for their group of Red Helmet wearing Bandits - "The We4t bandits" Yeah, like the goffy ones in Home alone. And it fits them perfectly. By the end of the night, more of their friends joined, we ended up rolling in to elektro 9 people strong in a full server. Journey all the way down to Elektro on full servers and held down a fire station. Bloody as fucking hell. Fucking amazing. I'm almost fully geared and just outside of elektro. Yes, I recorded almost all of it. Will take some time to produce the video (I have a back log). So...don't be afraid to fresh spawn on fully crowded servers. I just met a new bunch of guys to run with simply because they loved my role playing. I later learned half of them wanted to KoS me and a few others opted for fisting me to death, but as I carried on with my story and bewilderment of the environment and quirkiness of their group.... they made me one of their own. no Prblem. I can't take credit for it, someone else posted that a few weeks ago, i've been using it since.

I'm always up for a good shoot out. But I instead joined a full server that has the msg "KoS not forbidden but discouraged" - My buddy and I were looting and found someone in a jail building. I engaged in voice chat "Hey man, can you here me?" - He replied with a "Yes" i can here you." To which I responded "we don't have to open fire, go ahead and finish looting and be on your way, I'm going to have a look around when you're done." Which didn't get a response until the guy opened fire on my friend. didn't kill him, just hurt him. it was a 5 minute stand off hunt ending with the other guy dead, me and my buddy went unconcious. that sure was fun, got my heart pumping. Anyway, tht ends today's adventure. Just finished editing some footage from the other day when me and 6 other guys locked down a building in Elektro on the LLJK server "No Banditry Allowed - elektro through Kamy - No Aggression Zones." - Those guys patrolling earned there weight in gold that night. Video will up up sometime tomorrow possibly. To all you haters/name callers and butthurts over this post - relax. Geeze. try to have some fun once in a while. Maybe try joining some "peaceful" servers and not be so peaceful once in a while. it won't kill you or maybe it will (in-game) - I personally think no KoS servers now in alpha are a bad joke. And every time i join one (whether to KoS everyone (today could have been a first) or play along as friendly or lock down a part of a peaceful town) I always find my assumptions to be true - it's BS. Anyway, that's m,y last comment on this thread. i probably should have posted it elsewhere (not in the gallery) I'm sure a mod will lock/move/whatever as appropriate, or not. I don't know why this works but it does. Server Browser, edit filter settings, set your max Ping to 0 and in server name type the following without quotes.. "dayz gb" Wait for servers to populate then pick one. it will respwan you. When you save out of there and go to any other server, your toon will be the fresh spawn you log out with.

Wow, Am I ruining the game if I join a KoS server and play as a friendly? KoS servers have a low population unless I settle for high ping/bad gameplay - Pathetic, why don't you leave them alone? Bully? Geeze you folks are real srewy... All i did was post a pic and a comment... I haven't logged in to any servers the whole time and you're all just ...LOL - Oh Nevermind. EDIT: That's all that's really happening here. I am browsing for a high pop low ping server when most people are at work or school. I'm surprised to see what servers are holding the high population at this time.

I've played so many roles in this game, i'm going to catch shit for doing something different? Different for me that is. No. I happen to know from experienxce that "No KoS" servfers are where the action is at. I've played on so many trying to be peaceful only to get KoS'ed. That's the funny part. i play all kinds of roles, i don't hunt no KoS servers. i just came across this one and thought, WHY THE HELL NOT? And so off I go. Why not join the same server and come stop me? Can't I play my game anyway i want for once? Do I have to keep trolling you butthurts? It's a freaking game for crying out loud.... LOL
