I decided to wing it as a fresh spawn whose last memory was being at a bachelor party with his buddies in Russia. He wakes up alone on a beach with no knowledge of the world he is about to face. To make it as difficult as possible, I chose to play on a nearly full 40 slot server. The title of the video is the name of the Bandits i met in the second half. During another part (not yet edited) they will have a discussion about what to call themselves AND how "The Wet Bandits" suits them perfectly. Yes, this is from the movie "Home Alone". Technical difficulties: I had major Audio issues during the opening section of the video that I was unaware of during recording. I did my best to correct the issues but the start of this part sounds really bad. I apologize for that. The audio issue is eventually resolved in Part one and through out the rest of the videos to be released at a later date.

I can't believe I just now realized this

Are you sure? Because I still run faster than people who don't do it and I don't lose my breath. Granted, I don't run as fast as I used to run but I can take anyone in a race when my fists are up and there's aren't. I've done it, recently. -

It's a whole new game now. No patch required! Lol! -

I knew fist up running meant stop and step vaulting while fists down meant a jump. So I decided to test more options and whammo! Damn. Ok, I feel like part of the "in" crowd now... -
Routes to take for the best gear possible in as little time as possible.
Sinphaltimus replied to Nonapona2's topic in New Player Discussion
It's worth stopping in Cherno. There's a fire station there and several pubs. Pubs are good for canteens, food and occasionally a rifle and ammo. Also, the office building there. If gearing up with high end loot as fast as possible is your goal, run these routes on empty servers. -
To be clear. The last time it happened to me I did not fresh spawn. I had same toon, in same location I logged out, only I had zero gear. I was in underwear only. That was a first for me.

No update today during maintenance. Major big being fixed. Would you rather have a broken update or a stable one pushed to "stable"? See Hicks' tweet a few minutes ago.... No update with todays maintenance, however - Our programming team has narrowed down the fix on the blocking bug.

It happened to me last night. Rage quit. Be on soon to gear up again. But basically ruined game night last night. Rarely happens but on the off chance our doors, it sucks for sure.

Very curious about choice of gender.
Sinphaltimus replied to DesertSage's topic in General Discussion
I've only had this happen in DayZ and have had people ask me why I'm playing as a girl. Simply put, DayZ randomized my character and I don't bother to customize one ever. Makes no difference I'm gameplay so why bother? As a fresh spawn, I just want to get in there and gear up quickly. I never know if ilk be a girl or guy or what ethnicity and frankly it doesn't matter. -
I know it's not helpful to say, I use it with micro and in game sound recording without issue, but I do. However; it's the actual "up to 20 minute shadow recording" that I do have issues with. I use the manual start/stop method of recording without any issues at all though. Have you tested with manual controls?

People will still freak out over "lack of transparency" and "updates taking forever". In reality, I don't think enough users understand that this is part of the development process, it happens and nothing will stop it. It's not worth freaking out over. It is what it is. And project deadlines, goals, milestones rarely ever go according to plan across multiple industries. Can't fire people for that. You'd have no one to hire after a while. I'm sure the dev team will adjust their update announcements accordingly. All they needed to do is say "Maybe, if things go as planned < insert planned update here>"

Not sure about that entire list but I have read that number 3 and the last one you mention is indeed fixed.

It sounds to me like one of these major bugs appeared a few versions back. I wouldn't expect a stable version update for every experimental version update either. But that's just me.

Rocket on Reddit- ]rocket2gunsRocket [score hidden] 3 minutes ago Anyone who wonders why the patch has not been moved to stable only needs to play on the experimental and you can see the reasons there. If you are disappointed the update is not on stable, simply go play on experimental and you can see these changes. You also quickly see issues as to why it is not out on stable. Believe me: we want this patch out much more than the community. Because continuing like this is a major headache for development as branching and merging becomes an absolute nightmare. This is occurring at the same time as us finishing our planning/roadmap process and starting up our new feature scrums. However, this desire doesn't change the fact that for the patch to be pushed onto stable we must not introduce new serious, game-breaking bugs. Currently we are tracking two new major issues that we see as being blockers: Invisible Characters/Zombies We believe this is caused by them becoming stuck in geometry on client(s) and therefore rejecting new updates. In order to fix this our QA has been going back through different build revisions and checking to see if this occurs so we could isolate the exact point in development it started occurring. That was an extremely labor intensive process and through this we managed to narrow it down to an exact revision that caused the issue. Now that we have found out exactly when that occurred, we start to look into why that happened. Once we fully understand the project we can implement the solution. The problem is that these are not simple issues or bugs, they are complex bugs that can result from a variety of factors. They can be caused by multiple issues, or simply just a symptom of a much wider problem. They are also often very hard to reproduce, and are exceptionally difficult to produce estimates for on fixing. Network pauses roughly every 30 seconds This recently appeared on experimental, and has been noticed by many. What happens is regularly the server stops sending updates for a second or so, which is caused by the server hard-locking for some reason. It lasts only a second before the server starts sending updates again. It looks like desync or rubber-banding for the client. The current most popular theory for this is currently that the Experimental Server Architecture itself is causing the issue. I.e. the Experimental "Hive" central database simply cannot handle the load, and therefore when a players is killed or dies, the updates are delayed and the server is forced to stop and wait for the central server to respond. I've vastly oversimplifying the issue but I am sure you get the point. We're again testing this in detail with our 30 fulltime, onsite, QA staff. It's a huge job and it's been a major effort.

I'm guessing their ESP system has bugs in it. If patch delays are too much to deal with, try getting on experimental branch where updates are plentiful.

That's pretty much what I tweeted back at him.. I'd rather have a stable update pushed to stable than an unstable one...but the suspense! :)

I do the west side run fairly regularly. I don't run into a lot of folks but on occasion I do. I agree it's not as much of a hot spot as it could be and I think that's because there are no random spawn areas nearby for when you die. The coast from elektro to svelto or what ever the new ne city is, happens to be very busy not just because that is where you spawn but mostly because that is where you respaen. Higher chance of getting your loot back after you return, especially if your friends are around. A squad in zeleno losses a member, it's a long and boring run to get back to them when starving. I am hopeful we will get random spawn locations near every city/town eventually.

Frankie is just like you. He's a gamer that plays DayZ. He had his play style, you have yours. Changing up play styles to get a new experience is up to the individual experience. What exactly makes someone good or bad at DayZ? Whether or not their play style is agreeable to you?

If You Could Add Any Gun To DayZ, What Would You Add And Why?

A water pistol I can fill with disinfectant to blind people. -
In a death loop. Any advice would be great.
Sinphaltimus replied to Qitarah's topic in General Discussion
When this happens to me, I always fix it this way.. In server browser filter set max ping to zero and server name to "dayz gb" without the quotes. Wait a bit for the server list to fill up then join anyone of them. You will spawn in as a new spawn. Play for at least a minute or two. Exit out cleanly from a safe spot. Clear your server browser filters, join any server and you should have that fresh spawn. -
LMFAO!

You should have shot your friend. He was the bigger threat firing a rifle in your general direction.

If it happens to everyone in your house, I'm assuming that means there is more than one device in your house that cannot get in the internet. With that said, the problem sounds like a central point of failure issue. Could be a failing router or bad cable. Devices don't last forever and DayZ will stressed your connection when you load in. So something outside of your computer (most likely) is overheating or failing. Whatever that is, everything else connecting to the internet relies on it.
