I'm rather nice ingame, I don't call out "friendly" anymore but I try not to shoot on sight, unless I'm in a military-base/airfield when it's pretty much always kill or be killed, if someone calls out that they're friendly or just call out in a non-threatening way (and don't point their guns at me etc.) I never shoot, and if I see someone outside of military zones etc. I usually try to wait the situation out and stay out of sight unless I don't have another choice. I wish I'd meet more friendly people who need help etc. though, I usually have way more food than I really need etc. haha

It might be possible to create your own maps, it was possible for arma 2 and the engine is basically the same so it could probably be done with some support, here are a couple of maps I made for ArmA2: http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/18/17495/promo1.jpg http://postimg.org/image/ouvwjdu43/full/ http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4421/screenshot1zay.jpg

Not sure if this has been mentioned/suggested before, but these are clothes that I'd say would suit the atmosphere of dayz perfectly, the classic denim-jacket is just that, classic, and it wouldn't be very suprising to see it in a country such as chernarus, leather jackets and other heavy outdoor jackets (maybe checkered lumberjackets and whatnot?) would be nice aswell. I'm sure more clothes are planned already since there has been many added in the latest patches, but I just thought I'd put it out there. More civilian clothes that are useful in general would be nice. Edit: Heh, just noticed leather jackets are actually mentioned in the latest experimental branch changelog, nice!

When I talk about heavy lumberjackets, I mean something along the lines of this: More of a jacket than a flannel-shirt, quite heavy (I actually own this exact jacket, it's very warm!) Would suit the atmosphere of the game very well I figure, and it has extra pockets!

Today I learnt that there can be zombies in the wilderness. (story)
mcnools posted a topic in New Player Discussion
Well, the sun had just gone down on the server I played on, I don't much like playing during the night (since I'm a coward), I was in the wilderness though, and had a head-light, I saw a couple of isolated houses on my map and figured I'd might just go check them out. I checked one house out with no problems, and started moving towards another one several hundred meters away (if I read the map right), I was in the middle of a pine-forest, now, an empty pine-forest is creepy enough, especially with a head-light shining on the trees (if you haven't tried this IRL, I recommend it, if you want to be a bit scared that is). Anyway, I suddenly spot a zombie standing by the road, I look around but he seems to be all alone. Strange I thought, haven't seen much zombies at all in the middle of the wilderness like this, just one time before during my 23 hours in the alpha. I figured I'd put him out of his misery with a magnum, which was of course a really bad idea, since I had a bloody fire-axe and could have taken him out quietly. Just as I had shot him I heard sounds of a zombie, I first thought it was the one I shot, and that the sound was lagging, then I saw movement to my right, I turned and saw another zombie running right towards me, I shot that one aswell and heard another zombie sound, right behind me, and another one coming from where the second one came. Luckily these were the only zombies, and I had enough ammo for them, but man, was I surprised and scared shitless, the head-light doesn't really provide much light, just enough to see their hungry faces coming towards me, haha. Do zombies spawn more often during the nighttime or was this just a pure (and evil) coincidence? Be careful out there people, you aren't save. -
Fix the hunger and the thirst bars so U dont have to eat and drink after the bars are not showing up to be healthy
mcnools replied to Gilkag's topic in Suggestions
I just drink a lot of water and eat a few cans of food every hour or so and I'm "healthy" according to the game even though I don't eat/drink until I'm full. -
walkies would be very nice, maybe both long and short-range, that way you could get in touch with other players in the area who also happens to have walkies and meet up/lure them into a trap etc. could be interesting in many ways.

You can also press shift twice to toggle jog/walk, I usually have it on walk when moving through towns etc.

Dragging the canteen in my hands back into the inventory and then putting the other one in my hands seems to work fine. And it is quite useful to have two canteens (or more I suppose).

Is your friend the guy who shot me at the central airfield and then shot me again after you had bandaged me and brought med back to conciousness? haha :D

Indeed, Trent has even said so himself. Beans for the story aswell!

Weird Mouse movement DayZ standalone.
mcnools replied to Nibiru (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have the same problem, I have a logitech G5 mouse and a Logitech Mx 3200 wireless keyboard if that is of any help, the mouse lag is unbearable, I move the mouse and it takes almost half a second for the aim to change (ingame, works fine in menus) I also can't set mouse acceleration to "off", and any settings I do to the mouse (smoothing/deadzone) is reset after I close the options-menu. I'm well used to how the mouse works in the ArmA-game series, so this has nothing to do with it, and graphics settings doesn't have any effect on this problem either, oh, and I don't have any controllers plugged in,. Edit: managed to make it a bit less terrible by setting the settings (setting mouse smoothing to minimun) and then pressing enter instead of "close", seems to save the mouse smoothing settings at least.
