This sounds like an area northwest of Lopatino. If this is the case, you are west of the airfield.. just keep running east for about a kilometer and you should reach the northern end of a large airfield.

Why not attempt to act like someone in need of help, and try to get other people to be helpful to you, kind of like a street beggar or special needs person.

Spawned in a great position near Elektro, not many people about and a load of fresh loot, but a shite load of zombies. In between running away I found a pipe wrench, and managed to take on 3 zombies at a time with it over the course of a minute with only one wound.. Pipe wrenches are pretty shitty weapons all told, it takes about 6 or 7 body hits to put one down, so I was lucky to get away with one wound. I then went looting around a quiet Elektro.. a gold mine of gear and supplies. I took an overconfident step to the factory that spawns weapons there, and found some guy in the corner idle.. I have been in the habit of arming myself whenever I see anyone, until confirmation that they are friendly.. this guy pulled a magnum on me and told me to stay the fuck away.. I obliged and sheathed my wrench and went about explaining the KOS culture we have all experienced, to which he replied that he never KOS's, and that we should team up together and go search for booty elsewhere. I was humbled that he, the stronger char at that point would be willing to look over me and protect, and we have since become steam buddies, vut at the time I refused, telling him that I would hold him back and have my own plans - EMC his steam name is, a top bloke, and one of the goodies. I then continued pillaging around elektro, and all i was missing was a decent weapon.. I was accosted by 2 black guys... i put my hands up, they handcuffed me and stole everything worth having :( Then they ran away and left me cuffed. By moving around I broke loose of the cuffs, then I started from scratch, with a badly damaged backpack with hardly anything in it. By this point I had taken 4 or 5 zombie wounds.. it was constant at the time. I built up a nice little supply after more labouring, this time with a firefighter axe, one shot kill to a zombie, which helps a fucking lot. Built up OK, still with almost black and white vision and blurry (after the zombie attacks) but carried on just, eating just enough and drinking enough...water was a problem, couldn't find many wells in the big towns although I know they are there. Built myself up to a reasonable level of health, went for walkies over to kamyshovo, then stary sobor, then novo, then the military base in the northwest, devil's castle, all along getting healthier and getting my vision back from good feeding and watering. Now I have 2 magnums, one FP45 and a Mosin, with rounds for the mosin and magnum, and my charachter is 'healthy' after some good rest periods and food during stops... I now wish to become a monk in the north of Chernarus, who preaches peace from afar to the people in the lower and eastern battlegrounds.. perhaps we can form a monk colony in the North east tundra? Monks against punks.

I am a monk who travels the north of Chernarus in search of enlightenment, and I am able to carry 2 magnums, 1 FP45 and several tins of beans along with my canteen and bottle of water...and a load of mags I can't even use.. maybe I will rename myself the 'Militant Monk' and carry Hare Krishna literature around with me, that I leave at the feet of those I must execute in the name of karma.

Since I've been playing dayz, I have had a hankering for a cold can of beans straight out the tin... the slurping crunchy, lip slapping enjoyment makes my tummy rumble.

Found myself a nice quiet little spot in the north east, plenty of running water and supplies.. an almost untouched little paradise. I think I'm going to live a monks existence - contemplating life and eating beans. By the way, I was at Devil's castle earlier, a wonderful little spot, but if you're like me and get a bit queasy about the falling off building/climbing ladder issue, don't walk around the edge of the castle wall... nearly shat myself earlier on.

Yes, you're right zeet.. it was a one off - I don't feel bad about it, but it does defeat the point of the game, so will not be doing it again.

Combat logged once.. I'd been severely frustrated in previous lives about dying constantly from the ladder bug, and finally got myself into a slightly decent position again to find myself confronted by a bad ass dude who didn't want to be friends... so I thought 'fuck it' and combat logged, because I was due a bit of luck which was not forthcoming. However, I have since not combat logged, and as a result have been mugged a number of times, which I can accept.

Blimey..it's happened again.. climb the steps onto the top level of a high rise building, and when it reached the top i fall all the way down! Had a Mossie and shit loads of rounds too :(

Made a post about this yesterday.. not sure where that has gone now. It's fricking annoying, and needs to be sorted soon.

I had this happen to me in a building in Elektro...I just sprinted at the wall, and then pressed alt+tab.. if this doesn't work, I'd suggest doing what someone else has said, and just load up your ping with downloads/torrents/animal porn until it lags to shit, and then run and vault at the wall.

Think the game is great and I understand that it is still in alpha stage.. but FFS, falling off of buildings... Spent hours and hours building myself up a nice little cache of weapons, was in good health and just at the stage where I was going to meet up with my mate and go on a little rampage somewhere. Then lo and behold, I click the middle mouse button on the downward arrow to climb down a set of stairs, and he randomly floats off 4 meters in front and then down onto the floor below...dead. I was fuming, but luckily got a really good spawn position, so decided to sprint over to my old dead body and collect the gear. Wasn't certain what server I had been on, so ran into position and began server jumping whilst on top of a factory roof. I moved slightly on one occassion scouting for the body, ad lo and fucking behold my crouching figure decides to slide randomly over the edge of the building...dead. I have had several occassions in the past with the exact same scenario - click to climb down stairs, only to watch him floating out and down, got away with it a few times with leg injuries, but fuck, what kind of rubbish is that? How long is it going to take to sort it out? Only been on playing for about a week now, and I can't see the point in starting another life now when in some situations he just dies from no fault of my own.

I take that on board - and no, I'm not adept at coding myself. As I say, just venting a bit of steam off, I just hope that this alpha release is actually doing BI some good for their dev, which I hope hurries things along - because as I say, it has the potential to be a world beater if they can get it right, and I was always an RTS type of gamer before this, rather than an MMORPG/FPS type gamer. I hope that the alpha release also helps the funding for development... which I think is probably the reason it has been this way.

Same thing just happened to my mate... Anyway, just out of curiousity are BI using this period as some useful information practise? Do any of the servers create logs and info for BI to delve into, almost like diagnostics? If yes, what is the nature of the info they receive? I only ask because it'll make me feel better about being randomly flung off of buildings in the future. And I was just venting a little steam earlier, I take the advice on board about realising I should not yet get too attached to my tins of beans and sardines.
