why in the fuck has this not been merged with the countless other 1pp v. 3pp threads? Fucks sake man, you even tried to bring this same shit up over in BP mod forums, and the devs over there locked your shit down in a heartbeat because its already been beat to death. Play on hardcore servers and let it go already.

This is bullshit. As of the last patch, my server was forced to a 2-hour reset schedule on gameservers, and I was told that this was a decision handed down by the developers without any choice in the matter- and as such, I have no option as a server owner to do anything about it. Don't go blaming server owners for everything you dislike just because you dont have the wherewithal to do some research and find out what is exactly going on first.

Agreed- but abusive admins can have their servers removed. As a non-badmin, it bothers me to not have access to it, but at the same time I am patient enough to wait until we are actually allowed access. As it is I rarely kick, and generally wont kick for racist/offensive names. I let the 12 year old shit disturbers have their fun for now because they WILL get bored and leave the community. In the future, however... one never knows.

If we had access to BEC on the server it would be ezmode, but thats one of the things that GSPs seem reluctant to allow us access to.

There is no way to natively ban at the moment. There are supposedly 3rd party programs that allow it, but I don't have one- and not sure I would use it if I did. Continue kicking, IMO.

Well, if you scroll to the bottom of this page http://dayzgame.com/ you can clearly see the logo for BI. And for what it's worth, my guess as to why there is no DayZ forum on the official BI forums is that the one we are reading happens to be that forum. Going out on a limb here in guessing that you don't use the BI forums at all, otherwise you would know that many of the mods HERE are also mods over THERE. And if I recall, the VERY FIRST thing you see when you start DayZ SA is a splash screen of the Bohemia Interactive logo. I mean, what else is there that you need to see in order to accept that BI is backing the development of this game?

Rick I doubt its latency, because it happens to me more often that not on my own server, which I ping <15ms regularly. Also agree that it ought not be rendering, as I am also well-endowed in the hardware arena as well. Someone stated above something to the effect that it's paybacks on the other side of the login timer since it was reduced; I am almost tempted to agree with that because it sure feels like it. Last month, 300 sec timer, but then you load right in... this month, 60 sec timer but then you wait 240 sec. at "please wait" while your character is already in the world.

Because gametracker rankings mean so much. Got it. Rankings on a 3rd party website are cool and all, but mean absolutely jack shit if your playerbase is always random people joining and not coming back. Why not link yours here so we can all see just how kickass your 2-week-old server really is? Maybe you'll even get some of the chronic complainers here to join and play with you, and you can all have a cry-in and share tears of frustration over how your hands are tied by the evil devs and thieving GSPs.

This, so much this. BP mod is what SA wants to be when it grows up. Its still clunky in spots, and definitely has its share of bugs too, but man... I would love to donate my ARMA3 server for use as a BP server.

You have exactly as much control of your server, as you knew you were going to have when you paid for it. Now that you have it, you are unhappy with the limited control of the server that the devs will allow DURING THE ALPHA TESTING PHASE, and you are unhappy that you can't #login as admin and have god mode. Does that about sum it up? You are paying for the privilege of hosting an ALPHA server. Yes, they are retardedly expensive and no one will deny that. But no, you do NOT automatically get free reign to do what you want, when you want, how you want- not now, not while the game is in testing. As someone who has been running an SA server for over 4 months, I look at it as building a rapport within the community and creating a familiar name, someplace they can trust to be run fairly, so that when we *DO* get those uber-powers, they will be more likely to stick around and play. As a server owner I want a solid core of regulars- I am not paying for a private loot farm. I want to have my server full as often as possible without having to rely on my crew making sure it's populated. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Do yourself and the community a favor and don't renew at the end of the month. You are EXACTLY the problem with badmins and why those of us who run reputable servers have such an issue with maintaining a decent playerbase. Wait until release so you can run your private hive lootfarm kickfest.

Haha, actually landing that big-ass transport chopper is a lot of fun, and stressful as hell, but well worth the xp and cash when you pull it off for a tactical insertion- worth about 3x as much as a tactical paradrop. KotH is a lot of fun.

I have yet to read any book in game. I did it once, just to figure out how to do it, but that was it. Although I generally look to see what titles are dropping- the main reason I go to the top of the piano house is just to see what books are up there.

If I didnt have a tablet and access to gutenberg, I might read in game, especially some of these classics that are available. http://www.gutenberg.org/ is awesome- but just because it is out of copyright doesn't mean they have it- yet. Sadly, they don't have this particular Kafka title. Probably needs a translator for it.

In general I would have to agree. Being admin on my ARMA3 server running wasteland, I can do *anything*. However, truth be told, I havent even logged in as admin in weeks. Logging in, teleporting to the gun shop, giving myself 20 grand to play with, then spawning an attack chopper in front of me...the novelty wore off quick. Tabbing out and using EPMRcon is all I need to do, and it still allows me to play and have fun. Probably helps that I'm an old fuck and find it more fun to actually play the game, as opposed to playing god mode to win.
