You only need to read the names of cities if you are communicating with friends. In that case just read the Cyrillic signs if they were written in Latin letters and describe your surroundings. There are not that many cities on the map, should be easy to figure out your location. Try to figure out alternatives if you lack certain abilities.

I agree that they are breakable too easily. The time it takes to break them on your own should be increased by a lot. Making handcuffs unbreakable… breaking free so easily might seem unrealistic, but vanishing keys and cuffs after unlocking them are even more unrealistic.

I have not played the mod, so I can't comment on your claim that none of the suggestions made it into the game. While writing a suggestion is quite easy, balancing and implementing them isn't. I don't think that people writing down suggestion should worry too much about balancing and implementing though, developing ideas is done best with not too many restrictions. However developing a feature out of those ideas needs a lot of refining - questioning them etc. (How much does it add to the game? How much does it cost to implement it? etc) Actually discussing the ideas with the players would take away a lot of time from the development team, I assume they check by to get some inspiration though.

Is there an official comment on this removal? I've only found people on the forums claim it was because of racist notes, but wasn't able to find something from a dev.

Currently the night is problematic. As a consequence only few people play on a server during the night. You can adjust settings (High Gamma, High Brightness, Low HDR) to make the night quite bright, somewhat like b/w night vision. I think this shouldn't be possible in a game where the night should be scary. And it gives you an unfair advantage over players who actually rely on items such as flashlights. Some solutions: - Make the flashlight more useful, this was already suggested in another threat about applying the Harries Technique. - Add night vision goggles. (I assume this item is planned, but only having these wont solve the problem. - Add more lighting to certain areas. There are several working street lamps, electricity doesn't seem to be a problem in the Chenarus area. Fire-barrels, burning cars or something like that might work as well. (More destruction was suggested somewhere else, but I can't find the threat). Edit: I just found an idea in the bugtracker that talks about the same problem. I personally consider the lighting in that screenshot too bright and colorful, but it could be somewhere in the middle between that and the current situation.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

A real marathon simulator like DayZ should rather implement QWOP-like controls for running. But yeah, auto-run would be nice. -
Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
Baarn replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
You are not supposed to run around as a jack of all trades, you should chose a weapon and by that your task in a group. While people might be able to carry two long firearms (from a realism perspective), I don't think that it make sense from a gameplay perspective, as everybody would be running around with one close/mid-range and one long-range weapon. This would take away a lot from the tactical aspect of combat. -
I think 60 seconds is too long, most people combat log as soon as you shoot at them, so you already have a visual on them anyway. 10 or 20 seconds should be more than enough, discussing the actual amount of time is pointless of course, but after losing connection you shouldn't be found by some random passerby. I think zombies should de-aggro instantly after logging (loosing connection or whatever). Some people might choose this as an easy way out to escape Zombies, but - especially with a long logout timer - it would be annoying to lose gear to zombies after loosing connection. At least currently Zombies aren't a real danger to anyone with decent equip, so I doubt people would abuse it that much. With better and more zombies added to the game this behavior might change, though.
