Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
Mr Hyde replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
I'm still having the desync issue. The only fix i've found is to play with minimal self found gear. I mean only pants and jacket with some stuff inside and an axe. More gear means a very high desync probability when i have other players nearby. -

There is a big thread already on this matter: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159568-combatlogging-what-it-is-and-how-to-prevent-it/?hl=%2Bserver+%2Bhopping It's labeled as combat logging but is the same thing overall. -
Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)

Played already for an hour and i've experienced desync in both servers i was playing on. They were full 40/40 servers and i had 3-5 people nearby(less than 200 meters) for most of the time. Desync happens during spawn and later as well. I will update this post later. -
@phoboss: no problem, i'm here to help

I'd like to add my 2 cents here. Solutions i support: A-a timer of 1 min, no matter what B-when you want to log out, the line "preparing extraction" appears then you have to reach a spot X(maybe 200?) meters away from you in a random direction. You will have some kind of tool(an arrow?) to guide you. You may add a little timer(15-30sec?) at the beginning or at the end of the process. Extraction can be aborted, if you retry to log out you will have to repeat the whole process (a new extraction point will be randomly chosen). Solution B supports tension, no camping and it's easy to implement. It preserves the survival spirit of Dayz while enhancing your gaming experience and dealing with combat loggers as well.

Desync is still there when people are nearby(i'd say less than 200meters, not sure about the exact value) -

My desinc, as well as others, does not fade away after 2 minutes. Actually it does not at all in a reasonable time frame. I keep waiting for more than 10 minutes, at that point i just drop the ball and move to the next server hoping for the best. My ping is stable and it's in the range you mentioned 20-40 depending on the server. Bandwidth values in game show something like 300 600 700 in some scenario, when desinc occurs. It also seems (in my experience) that joining at the same time a server with players in the same area has a higher chance to trigger this restless desinc. It can also happen randomly while playing. Playing with 4+ people it's very hard for me. Seems stable with 1-2 max nearby. My tests are 3-4 hours long and i'm playing everyday. Today the situation was better though. Among the possible causes mentioned in the thread i still strongly support People proximity and BE('till i see a major fix). About Battleye changes, most of the people calling the issue fixed do not even care to say for how long they tested that "fix". You know i could play for half a hour without having any issue. Would you call it a fix? (knowing the randomness of this issue). And still many people are reporting to have this problem in other threads as well. Some people without any antivirus are experiencing this thing as well. i've yet to see a game being in conflict with a antivirus in such a way. Usually tweaking some settings solve any problem. By no means, uninstall a well known antivirus can be considered a fix from me . It's more of a work around and still the issue remains. -

Today I' ve done some tests with 1-2 friends and i was able to join their server(multiple times) without getting high desinc as soon as i spawned. However, i still had high desinc twice at some random point during the session. I will do some test with 5 people tonight -

Looking at the table/list of players i usually(yesterday and past days) can see that my bandwidth values are lower than those of my friends, while i have desinc issues and i'm close to them. Later I will check if i still have desinc. -

I've played with friends, who carry containers, on Not-BE servers without having issues. On BE servers i'm still getting high desinc as i spawn near them or get close to them (4-5 players). Sometimes i see all players values in the list set to zero(mine included) and it took ages for the list to update or it doesn't update at all. This is not true if i am the first to join a server. Always playing with friends. -

I'm still having issues, i'm playing with 4-5 friends fully geared. Playing on BE servers. Today Not BE servers are gone, experimental ones are available but they cause char wipe. -

I experienced this same behaviour of the game. I don't have any major desinc playing on not BE servers. Sometimes a red chain appears for 5 seconds max but nothing game breaking and i can still equip weapons or items in my hands. When this event occurs also my friends which are in-game with me have the red chain on as well. On BE servers on the other hand i get a 100k desinc after 3 seconds i join the area where my friends are or viceversa. I have not tested the behaviour of the game on experimental servers still. I'm running a Symantec product on this machine. EDIT: I played last night for several hours. Going to do some tests today as well as i have some time.
