Some people don't get that this is a game, not a life. You can shoot whoever you want to shoot, they are pixels. Nobody gives a f-ck, you won't have nightmares for the rest of your life, you won't regret it, he won't leave a family behind, because in the end it's just a person in front of a computer who's going to rage because his formation of pixels died. The problem right now is the small range of endgear and items in general. Many people get bored, so they just KOS and spawnrape. I personally don't even get any gear anymore, I just run around the coast and fool around, start fist fights, and teach people how to properly 1 shot knock out others. I killed 3 fully armed russians that way, damn they were pissed. You just gotta live with things like nonsense KOS right now, just wait until the new update comes, that will keep the people busy for a bit.

Imagine you'd be the boss of a company. Just really simple. A company doesn't just have one kind of workers. They have workers who clean, workers who work on that part, workers who work on another part. They aren't robots with the same HDD installed, they're humans with different tastes. Some like coding, some like the graphic design. They work there. They have to make money. So they add a bit of everything, everytime. Do you get that in your brain? And fundamental things like sound, combat logging and server hopping take time. Everything needs to get tested, renewed, they need to talk about it, they need to brainstorm. It isn't just as simple as "OH LOOK, A MEMBER IN THE FORUM TOLD US HOW TO FIX COMBAT LOGGING, LETS DO THAT". And again, it's an Alpha. Fucking wait, or you won't get the game you've expected.

Well, I had this problem since the beginning, so I thought it's normal. Pretty weird that you got those problems just today. I sadly don't have a fix for this, otherwise I would've told you already. I also didn't found any fix, maybe someone else knows better.

I do have the same problem. 99% of low- to mid pop servers don't work for me, and it takes a looong time until some decent servers show up. It's annoying, but I expected it in an Alpha.

Let me guess - You go to the junkyard and buy a burned car with a total loss, and later you'd cry about the fact that it doesn't drive. This game isn't meant to be played right now, it's meant to be tested, and this will continue for atleast a year for sure, while they slowly apply all the fixes. Lags, rubberbanding, bad mechanics - That's what you've been warned of, but you still bought the game. And who said that they only focus on new content? Not every freaking developer does the same thing. I see that you don't even have the slightest clue about how this works. But yeah, this Alpha game is "sooo bad", even though its more stable in its current state than a big, well known shooter triple A title.

Sorry, but you somehow remind me of this guy: Anyways, if they actually succeed to fix that issue with too many things rendering in the background (It's explained somewhere in the deep forest of the internet, ArmA2 also has those performance problems in town and they never actually got fixed), it's going to be just fine. Remember, everything is possible. They sold 1 million copies in no time, I'm sure they'll achieve more FPS, too.

Uhm, just an idea, but did you have a Walkie Talkie? I feel like that may be the reason. I just went through my DayZProfile in my Documents folder to see if I can change some graphic settings for more performance in towns, and I found something. I have no experience with things like that, but it looked pretty interesting: class MainMap{ class WalkieTalkie { inBack=1; position[]={0.093999997,-0.043000001,0.25}; positionBack[]={0.28,-0.155,0.625}; }; class GPS2 { inBack=0; position[]={-0.047431991,-0.10799249,0.22}; positionBack[]={0.036959991,7.5101845e-009,0.12}; }; It says something about MainMap, WalkieTalkie, GPS and positions. Does this help in any way?

I discovered that playing Tiny Tim through the VOIP chat attracts even the biggest KOS bandits, so they can dance together with you. Yes, they will probably shoot you in the end, but hey, they danced. This isn't a joke.

My longest life was about 15 hours, spread over 4 days. I was pretty much "done", had everything I needed, which is some kind of a success for someone who's never played DayZ before. Walked with a friend to Cherno to meet there, and got shot later by a whole spawnkilling banditsquad of 4 or 5 people, which were all camping on one of those death towers where fresh spawns jump from, to change their spawn location. Pretty sad lifes camping up there.
