This is a possible FPS Fix for the DayZ Standalone, so it would make more sense to actually move this into the New Players section of the DayZ Standalone. I just found this tool after I checked my Performance tab, just to realize that some cores are "parked". So I had pretty much tried everything to get better FPS in DayZ, from .cfg edits to really low settings, even though my system should handle it.I do have an i7 3930K, running at 6x4.20Ghz, combined with a custom 7970 OC, so DayZ shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Yes, the game isn't optimized, we will probably see more FPS soon without having to manually fix everything. But I actually found something pretty nice, and guess what - I played DayZ on Low to Really Low settings, with 100% Resolution. My FPS went down to 19FPS in towns like Elektro, even though I had really low settings. Now I actually play on Max settings and 120% Resolution, and my FPS are at a stable 29-35 in Elektro. Magic? Kinda. The magic is called "unparking cores", and it won't do any harm to your system, if anything it will actually enhance the speed. Parked cores are part of energy balancing in your OS, and come on - Nobody likes energy balancing. THE FIX Now I'll explain how - And I can assure you one thing, this may or may not work at you. This is mostly something for 6/8 Core CPUs (AMD AND INTEL!) , but you can try it anyways. The first thing you have to do, is to check if you actually have parked cores: Open your Taskmanager Go to the Performance Tab Click on the "Resource Monitor" button on the bottom Click on the "CPU" tab Now you can check out your working and PARKED cores on the right side. Parked cores do have a grayed out font, and those are the ones you have to fix now. Hey, survivors, It doesn't seem like I'm able to play on DayZ EXP servers anymore. Every server ist stuck at "Wait for host", or if I'm finally able to get through, it's stuck at "Please wait...". I could't play on any server with the newest updates yet, because of this problem. I just re-installed DayZ, problem still there. And yes, I set it on experimental. I don't experience those problems on the normal servers, so it's kinda strange. If I wait long enough at the "Wait for host" screen, I'll get back to the server list, with an error that says "Confirmation of changes: Connection with host has been lost." Could anyone help me with this problem, or is anyone else experiencing this right now? With regards

Hey guys, This is a problem which I had since I bought DayZ SA. I don't know if it's normal, I also couldn't find ANYTHING about this, or I'm just dumb. Anyways - I can't join any server. The chance of actually connecting to a server is maybe 1 of 10. I tried it on empty servers, full servers, UK, DE, IT, everything. Everytime I try to join a server, I get a loading screen for ~5 seconds, and then a message which says "Confirmation of changes - Connecting failed.". I just can rarely connect to a server, and if that happens, it restarts somewhen & I can't join that server anymore and have to find a new one. I know this is an Alpha, but I'd like to actually play this game. Is this normal right now, or some kind of a bug? With regards

You can try to find the new SKS in the experimental branch, you just have to set your DayZ properties to experimental (Steam -> Library -> DayZ -> right click -> Properties -> BETAS -> experimental). It will download an update & you'll then be able to join experimental servers with the newest patch. But you can't join normal servers then, you'll have to set DayZ back to normal in the properties.

Well, servers are online, but I can't connect, only getting "Confirmation of Changes - Connecting failed". Is this just another error for a full server? I do get the full server notice sometimes, but sometimes I also seem to be able to join, but then I get that connecting error. Tried all servers now. Edit: And yes, I set my game to experimental.

Like I said on the first page, your overall download-speed MAY slow down a bit. This happened to me, and is a known side effect of this fix. Don't ask me why, I have no idea, but it can happen.

I actually tried this fix some time ago for an MMORPG, but it didn't work. It seems to work for some people, but not for everyone. My ping in that MMO was ~250, and it actually got worse after that fix. My downloadspeed also got slower by this, which is one of the possible disadvantages. But yeah, please try it. You won't destroy anything, just follow the guide, and see if it works for you.

Gotta love to knock out geared players. That's so embarrassing for them. If you know how, you can kill a group of 3 armed bandits in no time. Anyways, I don't punch anyone unless I have to. Bitches stole my blood, I stole their gear, and then their lives. Yeah, I'm talking to you, strange bandits with a russian accent on the rail track. Float like a butterfly, but sting like a bee.

Well, welcome to DayZ. Try to live with the fact that there are some little 12 year old boys who are going to kill you & insult your mother through the voice chat with their squeaky voice. Get used to this, surviving is the object of this game, and getting killed & losing everything is a part of it. Just continue to play it and you'll survive longer, trust me. I'm not even scared of players with melee weapons anymore as fresh spawn, if they try to attack me, they're knocked out in no time (go for the head!).

Yes, same problem here. I died, spawned at the coast, grabbed an axe, glasses and trousers from a dead guy, and like 5 minutes later those items just disappeared. The strange thing is, that the corpse had those items again. It couldn't be a lag, since I killed a bandit with the axe, so there couldn't actually be any big lags in that moment. I even looted the bandit, got some gear, everything worked fine. Just the loot from the first dead guy disappeared. Never happened to me before.

There are experimental servers all the time, nothing special anymore. Just wait for the official experimental patch, I'm pretty sure it will come real soon now, like Danny already said.

Because there's a difference between actually enabling disabled CPU cores & unparking CPU cores in the OS. I haven't found a way to unpark cores in my BIOS yet, but if you found a way, go for it. Some people don't like to jump around in their BIOS, looking for some silly complicated way to unpark their cores on the OS side.

Tell me what's confusing about it, english isn't my first language. I'll gladly correct everything. Did you check the screenshot I've attached? The "Core name" is grayed out, and that should be visible in the Resource Monitor. If those things aren't grayed out, but you still see parked cores in the program I've attached, just Unpark them, it won't hurt. Restart your system, and check if your FPS enhanced in any way.

KoS depends. I don't kill fresh spawns, I will never kill fresh spawns. People who do that are the little whiny no life kids for me, and it's pretty much true. But if he's armed, I'm more cautious. KoS depends on the distance. Is he extremely close? KoS. Is he far away? I'll study him, I'll see how he's interacting with other players. Does he shoot them? KoS. Is he nice to them? I'll try to get close and talk to him from cover. This is pretty much my tactic, and it's lots of fun. So yeah, it depends on the definition. There are armed KoS kids who can gladly jump off a cliff, because their life is a waste of human resources anyways. Talking to you, fresh spawn killers. But otherwise, KoS between armed players is alright.

I can't tell you for sure, but I heard that there's maybe coming an experimental today. Rocket said in a livestream that there's going to be an experimental patch on Monday, and he said it last Friday, so, telling by my logic, this should be today. Of course I can be completely wrong, or the date may change to tomorrow or whatever. Just telling what I heard. Nothing official.

Damn, gotta feel sorry for those who actually have a limit. Here in Germany, you'd maybe get a letter regarding your 1000+GB traffic a month, but you can just continue that way. Anyways, good luck.

Some fresh spawn killed a full geared guy in the middle of the street of Kamyshovo. Suddenly another spawn came, and they both had a fight over the gear. I quickly ran there, grabbed everything (Pristine M4, 3 full ammo boxes, all the military clothes stuff and lots of other things), and suddenly shots from everywhere. I ran behind a wall and saw 2 geared guys investigating Kamyshovo. They couldn't find me. I peeked around the corner of the wall, and they nearly ran right into my face. I shot the first guy, he dropped down. The second guy ran behind the wall. I was on one side, he on the other side. I didn't want to lose my gear just now. I walked into a corner & waited. Like 30 seconds later, he jumped out of cover, and I wasted a whole 60 bullet magazine into him, and I can tell for sure that at least 90% hit the target. But strangely he didn't die. He just started sliding, aiming at me. And like 5 seconds later, poof. I'm dead. No shots fired from his side, nothing. Damn I was pissed. Sudden lags for the win. Not.
