During an ongoing zombie apocalypse (or any form of massive social disruption like that), probably with a nationwide state of emergency declared, you can be pretty sure that any military personal on duty would be combat ready. Therefore, it stands to reason that any military personal that have become zombies would likely be wearing their combat gear. In line with this, an interesting dynamic could be having random military zombies carrying grenades that may explode if shot. Shooting an army zombie would not only run the risk of not actually killing them due to the body armour, but runs the risk of causing a loud explosion that would obviously kill anything in close proximity, but also alert anything in the vacinity. Agroing an entire base of zombies would be a very bad move indeed.

I see exactly zero benefit or reason to prevent people logging out in a building. Server hopping for easy loot will be greatly reduced once loot respawns. The only reason people server hop now is because loot only respawns once a server is restarted and sometimes that's not very often.

It's almost like people don't think for more than 0.748 seconds about an idea before posting about it

So, rape alarms then. Aren't there firecrackers/noisemakers in the mod?
-
It will be abused. Any form of suicide included needs to be slow and agonising.

How many more threads do we need on the same damn subject? There are at least four now.

They're zombiecats, clearly.

Street Sign Need English Name and Why
Monkfish (DayZ) replied to Styxx (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
This is quite possibly the dumbest suggestion yet, and there have been two threads about including meth in the game. Fucking meth. -
Putting a hit on bandits / kill on sighters
Monkfish (DayZ) replied to gunslinger_ka's topic in Suggestions
Definitely not. The advocates of the idea seem to be missing the point that their idea bandaids a problem that will be solved by significant changes to the way the game plays currently (i.e shitloads more zombies with radically different AI, damage to kit etc. etc.). The KoS 'issue' will be reduced by virtue of the fact that the game will just get more hostile and unforgiving. It'll encourage teamwork. But by all means guys, flog that horse. -
The suggestions being made would be implemented much later in the development. Obviously the dev's priority now is fixing the major bugs and getting the core of the game stable.

@DEVS: Easy, efficient fixes for: Combatlog/Serverhop eg.

And they're not different enough from the ideas posted in the other threads of the same subject to warrant a different thread. -
Heh. I like the idea of being able to select the handness of your player; it would tie in nicely with a suggestion I made on another topic about adding additional injuries such as broken arms. Breaking your shooting arm would mean having to use your other arm to fire a pistol, and doing so would have quite an effect on your accuracy. I'm not sure whether the handness of a player would complicate things for the devs in terms of animations though.

Graffiti/tagging has already been suggested and isn't much of a suggestion; it'll be abused/ruined by idiots. Anyway, the idea of tagging houses to indicate they're clear becomes entirely pointless once loot respawning is implemented.

I imagine a lot of suggestions didn't make it into the game because they were technically impossible, technically incredibly difficult, would break gameplay or are, to be quite frank, absolute bollocks. However, I do believe that good suggestions made here will make it into the game if enough people back them. Personally, I 'give beans' to ideas and posts I like. I do this because I assume that posts with lots of Beans suggest that the feature is wanted/desirable/too awesome to miss and will be, at the very least, investigated/considered for inclusion. What I'd like to see is a sticky at the top of the forum that lists and links the suggestions with the highest amount of beans. It'd create a nice list of the top things the community wants to see. Of course, that'll only work if people give beans to ideas they want. EDIT: Also, don't forget that Rocket and his team will have a fairly clear idea of where they want the game to head and suggestions that detract from that too much probably won't make it, even if they're good suggestions.

Check out the video link in this post showing some work someone has done to the sounds in SA. It's pretty damn impressive.

And in the real world it takes 4-6 weeks for your body to regenerate a pint of blood. Be thankful you can regenerate back to full health in game within an hour or so (depending on what you're doing). If you have to spread that over the course of a few sessions then so be it.

Monkfish (DayZ) replied to krazikilla's topic in Suggestions
Seriously? There's another topic about this exact subject within the top 6 posts of this forum. Could a mod please lock/merge this thread? -
Blood level regenerates when you're not hungry or thirsty, it just takes a little while.

Use F. If you find you keep mashing R instead of F then re-bind interaction to the space bar or something.

The "making camp" thing I've suggested previously, although it's in the guise of a sleep/tiredness mechanic. The rest of the OP's suggestions are guff though for reasons the last few posts have pointed out. Do not want or even need.

So, a "Wanted" list then? Do not want. -
Adaptive Artificial Intelligence for Zombies
Monkfish (DayZ) replied to melancholymastermind's topic in Suggestions
The zombie AI is being rewritten from the ground up. The current AI is just a placeholder as the new AI isn't done yet. -
Adding the ability for a character to kick
Monkfish (DayZ) replied to Legalese03's topic in Suggestions
I'm not even sure what that means. Also, kicking to the head not realistic? I guess you've not watched UFC. Kicking would be a good element to add to the game. Straight forward kick would reel zombies/players with an outside chance that they'd fall over backwards. The kick could also then be used to stomp on a downed opponent. Additionally, a front kick could also be used to bust through doors, although it wouldn't work every time and doors would have random strengths so some would open with one and others would take several. -
What is this, Breaking Bad?
