    permanent health damage

    While I do like the idea of permanent damage, it wouldn't work. When you lose an arm or an eye, starting a new character would be too tempting because it's so easy. There's nothing that makes you value your character - at least in this point of alpha.

    About items in corpses

    I love the fact that the corpses disappear after 10 minutes. It makes you care more about your gear and be more cautious. I know this is a temporary solution though. I got an idea for the future patches, not sure if this has been suggested before, but after a quick search I found nothing: Item condition degrades over time. Once you die, the items will be in the condition like they are in the current version of the game but after a while they start to get worn out. The clothes you wear would get worn out, the weapon you're carrying would gather rust and the fruit you had would get rotten. This is what would happen in real life, why not apply it to DayZ? Of course the process would take much less time. Let me know what you think!

  4. First of all I would like to thank you for this awesome mod. Now, to the point: I'd like the map wide chat to be disabled completely. The chat would be limited to the area right next to you where only the people around you can see what you say. The only way to talk to people on the far edges of the map would be radiophones which can be found as a rare loot on military sites or such. This would make you feel more alone in the zombie infested wilderness, and hearing (seeing) someone speak would increase the feel of security, and on some occasions make you more aware and cautious. Also - I don't know if this can be implemented to the ArmA II system - I think talking on the chat should attract Zombies, since they are attracted to sound anyways - even though the text on the chat is just "virtual speech". Let me know what you think!

    After seeing this thread I got some inspiration to try to make my own DayZ themed music, but it ended up too "trancy" as it always tends to when I open FLStudio :D http://dl.dropbox.com/u/63253465/JasonGreen/DayZ_song.mp3 The song isn't finished and it stops suddenly, I'm aware of that :cool:
  7. Make a respawn timer. A long one, so you can't instantly respawn once you die. I know there's always the penalty of having to run from the coast back to your earlier location, but people seem to make too risky decisions when crawling through hordes of Zombies to get the precious beans to fill their stomachs and running fearlessly through the empty fields like the sun is shining and life's awesome. This way the risk of attacking other person would also make you think twice. And for the bandit "problem" (which in my opinion isn't really a problem, but a playstyle), bandits should have a slightly longer respawn time to make their crimes right. Maybe make the respawn timer relative to the humanity you have? Give me your thoughts about this. And by long one I mean anything from 20 minutes to 2 hours or even more.
