Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557
DoxHoliday replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I wish :) Still at work. Nice find, I'm glad they're including these extra attachments in this update,..even if some of the others aren't fully functional yet (M4 suppressor). -

It's supposed to divert gas from the muzzle blast, resulting in less perceived recoil. This would not make your first shot more accurate, but if working properly would reduce the follow-up time for your second/subsequent shot. -

Nice! Those sneaky guys. I don't remember .45 suppressor listed in the changelog - that's OK, we like these kind of surprises! :beans: -
I'm curious about the physics engine used in DayZ SA. If I understand correctly, Rocket and team are utilizing an "Arma 2.5" engine for SA. I know that in general the Arma series has been built around accurate modeling of various firearms, calibers, and the ballistics of each. In game, I believe I have witnessed ricochets where rounds impacted structures/surfaces at shallow angles. Can anyone else corroborate this? Here's a great video on the ballistics physics of Arma 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cix07R1vlhI Is this something that is already built in, or that we can look forward to? I just really dig the mechanisms behind the game engines.

Night time servers--- THE BEST SERVERS
DoxHoliday replied to Space Milk's topic in General Discussion
/agree - moonlit nights are great. No gamma exploits, can see *kinda* well enough to navigate around and loot if the buildings have windows (barracks/jail/atc tower). And if you end up taking fire, muzzle flash will really stand out. -
Yeah sounds like PBO hack. It looks like this is going to be addressed in the next patch: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/165709-pending-changelog-experimental-branch-031114343/ "New: Signature verification against PBO's."...will hopefully verify existence/condition/checksum of local PBO files on the client during startup.

What was he doing to produce the head movement - is that what it looks like when you free-look everywhere while crouched?

Eagerly awaiting as well. Outstanding job, Rocket and team! In the sea of huge-budget releases and countless indie titles, this game is truly something special. -

I'm sure the weapon sounds will be tweaked in due time. However, gonna have to disagree with part of what ya said there bro. Had the A2 in the Army, and own an M4 6920 now. They're plenty loud, indoors and out. Especially with 5.56 M193/M855 (not commercial .223). -

Huzzah !! I know you had mentioned that combat logging is also a priority - any chance this is being addressed in this patch? -
Admin privileges and server time rant
DoxHoliday replied to Petrollium's topic in General Discussion
You're complaining about server admins having too much control. You want server admins to be able to do nothing but report suspected hacking. I see. Yet, from your other post, you actively admit server hopping for 0 pop servers, and state you are looking for a passworded server and a guild. The very things you rail against in this post. And, you have the gall to complain when another player joins ruins your "little world" you're enjoying when you're the only one on, stocking up on loot: "I work my nails off trying to find a working 0/50 server every time I wish to play dayz. And every time, after 30-45 minutes of me having the time of my life in my own little world, some guy joins in. It upsets me because I worked hard alt+ctrl+del and alt+f4ing out of countless unworking servers to find my diamond in the rough and these scrubs just get to join in after all my work of finding an extremely low pop server. Theyre sharks. Granted it isnt my server, I'm looking for a passworded server that will let me play on/possibly join up in their ranks." Yeah. It's not 'your server.' It's a server someone else pays a lot for, each month. You're contradicting yourself, and complaining about 'every single one of you server admins' is wrong on multiple levels. You may go now. -
Did that really just happen? Am I now a inadvertent super Bandit?
DoxHoliday replied to TLaw's topic in New Player Discussion
Bravo, cool story, beans for single-handedly greasing most of the server pop. -

Great idea ! Have a neutral referee carry both revolvers. Can you load just one round into the revolver? I've never tried, always reloaded to max(6). If you can load one round in each revolver, great. If not, have the refs load both revolvers, and empty (shoot) until one round remains in each pistol. Voila ! Dueling pistols, one round only, just like the flintlock/percussion muzzle loaders of old... well, ok, considerably more accurate and powerful. But each with one round - and hope your mark is true when you turn to aim and discharge it.

Great find ! That burlap sack texture kinda looks like part of a tent - looks like tree branches/wood on the left, bound with rope to the burlap sack parts.
