    Bambi needing advice!

Blurry means your hurt.. get full on food and water and it will slowly get better, or find a friend to blood bag you or saline bag you... currently Saline rocks! There is not a whole lot to get kitted out with currently, and what is in the game is different enough to not be seen as equal to different players... Finding gear might be rough until they implement respawns.. If a server restarts and you get kicked off... FRESH LOOT!.. hop back on and head for the nearest military spawn. The military camp on the south end of Zelenogorsk as well as the Northwest Airfield, the military camp SouthEast of Povlovo are all decent places for loot on the West coast, but can be dangerous. The Northeast Airfield is less dangerous, but less loot to be had. Other tips: Find gear with extra inventory slots. I opt out of the big backpack though as it makes people stick out like sore thumbs. Fruit gives you very few energy (food).. eat them on the spot. not worth your inventory space. Never eat rotten, not worth it. cereal and rice gives a lot of energy but takes away water.. try to ensure your good on water before eating them. I personally don't think cereal is worth the inventory space as it takes almost as much water from you as rice, but offers half the energy of rice. along with energy, beans spaghetti and fruit all give you a tiny amount of water along with water, soda gives you a tiny amount of energy If you like sniping get a mosin, although worn to ruined long range scopes shoot to the left (and hard to find). I try to keep a pu scope on me as well. M4s are cool too, people say they can be very inaccurate. Using pristine components will help that, upgrade iron sights to a red-dot sight, or if you like some magnification, an acog . Canteens hold more water than water bottles.. If you get in a lot of scraps, a helmet might be wise as it protects you from melee damage as well as at least one head shot from most bullets (depending on condition). Also any town with a firehouse or school typically has a chance for a weapon spawn. Same with the houses with pianos in them. There are a couple others, and as time goes by you will begin to recognize them. be careful, lots of bandits and murderers out there. The one millionth player signed created a character today. And now a shameless plug for my community website... www.wolf-mind.com

    Ammo amount recommendations

I have been carrying a Mosin and a magnum lately. I don't really ever go all out on the zeds, as I prefer axe kills. However, I keep one ammo can with five stacks of 7.62, two stacks of .357, and then two stacks of 5.56 and one stack of .45 for my buds, or for trade. I also keep a single stack of 7.62 and .357 in my vest for quicker loading.

Everyone is suffocating! Gas masks issue.

After our training in the gas chamber in the Marines (@Camp Lejeune), where we would test our seals, break said seal, and don and clear them again. After all that they would PT the crap out of us and have us run a small obstacle course out back, which was mostly running around and over stuff. It wasn't that difficult, although a little awkward. After you get winded though it's very difficult to catch your breath. Half the purpose, outside of the chamber was to get accustomed to the movement, and the other half, to get used to actually breathing with it on. I've seen a lot of people freak the heck out, both in the chamber, and even after the course, from not being able to catch their breath... good times :) On another note, anyone ever try shooting with a gas mask on. It is infinitely more times difficult to get sighted in because it's more difficult to get your cheek on the buttstock of the rifle (I've tried it with an M16, M4, 91/30, Remington 700, cheap ass .22). still kinda difficult even when using optics. Both are totally doable though. If some newbie tried to do it for the first time in a combat situation, he'd probably be screwed. It's probably way to deep in the weeds to be implementing that level of depth into the game. Best to assume we're all pros at it.

    Worn long Range scope?

I have been playing around with a worn long range scope. It is most definitely loses some accuracy. Shots at 400 meters are fairly close to point of aim. I rest my reticle just a hair right of what I want to hit. Shots I have taken at 700 meters hit about a body width to the left, about <1m.

Killing a 3-man friendly group unarmed

That's why I respond in force to all levels of aggression despite being generally friendly. That bull crap wouldn't happen on my watch. Ain't nobody got time for that.
  6. Lol I think were all on the same side of the argument... take a breather guys. Enjoy yourselves.
  7. Allow me to reply in equal sarcasm. yall' taking this too seriously. I sit on my hill, quiet as a mouse In town I see Bambi, rounding a house A bandit draws near, but Bambi's geared too I watch in pure bliss, "what will he do" I take aim at the bandit, but Bambi acts first he goes off with his M4, its selector, full burst he killed his aggressor, though awkward it seemed I thought "good job Bambi", his reputation redeemed I made my way to him, "I'm a friend, please don't shoot" "I saw what had happened, good job on the loot" A little sad and angry, he confessed out of spite "that guy was my mate and I shot out of fright" with my palm in my face, I ask "why not use your chat" you could have avoided it, simple as that Instead of an answer, he complained about tags about maps, about loot, about KoS fags he said "this games too hard, and your being to snooty" I replied "whatever man, go back to call of duty"

    Smell

Currently, in game the wind always blows East, making that difficult (just watch the clouds, or your breath at night). I find that smell is a sense best left simplified within a game, otherwise they'd have to start putting some type of method to better represent that in game, which I am personally not a fan of.
  9. Even though I think I am still on the same overall side of the argument as you, I think that you are wrong about these "facts" you suggest and could argue against any one. There is a lot of gray area within the aforementioned statements. You are correct, there "shouldn't" be any reason saying hi should erupt into gunfire, however, play this out in real life, and I would be a heck of a lot more careful about whom I said hello to for obvious reasons. It will happen. KoS is a very real mentality, rule, whatever you want to call it. I have a lot of survivalist friends, as well as a practicing survivalist myself and have met plenty enough of people on both sides of the fence. There are those who prep in a very sustainable way, as well as those who simply arm themselves well enough and believe they will be able to take what they need. I don't agree with the latter, but they are very real examples of the type of individual you argue that don't exist in real life. I'd imagine that in real life however, the latter would eventually find their majority outgunned, outsmarted, or turned on by somebody within their own camp relatively soon. Such is life. People can be loot boxes and very real threats in real life. It just happens too frequently in game. There are in fact very tangible incentives to letting another player live in game. People exemplify that every day in game and in this case you are being over-dramatic. Being called 12 for disagreeing with you is very childish and insulting on your part. Trying to validate points in such a way is counterproductive and only alienates those taking this conversation seriously and provokes and imitates those in which you are truly speaking of. There is a difference between KoS, which is a rule enforced in certain situations, and complete, all out murdering. There are those in this game who take pleasure in killing people whether it is necessary or not, which I believe is natural, but probably way too common in the game. That will not change. Enforcing these types of suggested mechanics address items that aren't really the problem and in my opinion, not well thought out enough (again, sorry OP). You can't keep those types of individuals from playing the game in such a manner. We just have to play smarter than them.
  10. Your solution is too broad and over-reaching. It is based on factors that do not affect people in equal or similar ways. KoS in some situations is very appropriate, and I feel real physical stress in simulated combat situations as it is (quickened pulse, unsteady hands). I don't need things to simulate this. I also find myself with a high set of morals, yet higher than normal sense of apathy which in certain situations would make aspects of your idea less than appropriate for myself. I don't support banditry or want to see this game turn into some lengthy pvp mmo joke, but your suggestions are convoluted, inappropriate, and in-applicable to enough situations and individuals that they should not be enforced globally, or at all for that matter. Sorry to disagree.

Cannibalist Enforcers? when can we expect it?

The idea of eating another survivor for sustenance/blood is completely plausible, but I find it impractical because.... Hunting provides the same benefit, and wild animals can be found relatively close to the coast, enough so, that if you found yourself in that much need of blood, you could pause what your doing long enough to go bag an animal instead of taking a chance and engaging a far more potentially lethal entity. All cannibalism would benefit would be to keep you "enforcing", as you put it, at an increased efficiency. If they did implement something like this, I would imagine they would treat it like hunting, requiring you to have the proper equipment to kill, dress, and cook your meat, again probably not something an individual want to conduct while purging the coastal city of noobspawns..... er I mean "infected individuals". I think that adding this feature would further deter the finer social aspects of this game that they are already trying to quell by making the survivors think much more about deciding to pull the trigger on another player, even though in your particular case, it would only be a benefit to a situation that was already occurring. Although, it would be interesting if they had the whole karma system and added a new skin, hero, bandit, and cannibal. Not my cup of tea however. With that being said, I would be hard pressed to think this would make it in game and I don't think my opinion falls anywhere within the options of your poll, therefore I chose not to vote. Cheers!

    5.56 Ammo peculiarities (may generalize)

The same "exploit" has worked for me with 60 round mags, although I haven't tried to fill an ammo can like this. I have not had any issues, other than lag, preventing me from seeing loose ammo dropped on the ground. Items normally all end up on the ground eventually though sometimes items fall through the floor, in which I only noticed by being in a two story building. So now, every time an item never appears, I tend to assume it fell into the ground/floor. Within my inventory, provided I have the space, it has worked 100% from my experiences. It always drops in the upper, first available slot. I seem to be unable to empty my boxed ammo or ammo loaded into magazines if my inventory is full. This is all, of course, only in my personal experience, which may not reflect every possible scenario.

    Communal Areas - Sanctuaries?

I foresee something of this nature just turning into a big grief farm no matter what steps are taken to combat such a thing. While I like the idea of setting up a trade post, the nature of this game would make that difficult to protect on one's own without creating a plethora of server rules, which I am not in favor of for it would detract from the concept of this style of game play. Now, once player created structures are implemented, I would be very curious to see if any such structure is defensible enough to allow such conduct. I would be very very interested to attempt or see somebody attempt such a thing in game, WITHOUT server rules protecting things unnaturally.
  14. If I'm not mistaken, there is already a chance for a misfire, which is dependent on weapon condition. However, I do not think it is implemented at this time. I could have sworn (don't quote me on this) that DH mentioned this mechanic specifically in one of his videos. That's three things that can affect us putting rounds on target. Chance to misfire, overall weapon condition affecting accuracy, and our own physical condition affecting our ability to aim steadily, I think that adding anything else would make things a little too convoluted for the amount of effect they actually have on the individual.
  15. I own both an M4 and a mosin nagant. With the M4, I have dumped over 1k rounds in a single afternoon easy without any side effects (aside from a giant unstoppable grin), especially none that would effect general combat effectiveness. After that many rounds, I have noticed some very minor bruising, but it wasn't painful or tender. Now, my mosin-nagant on the other hand, will briuse my shoulder a little more after only 30-40 rounds or so. However, even in this case it is neglegable and doesn't affect my shooting as much, nor would I expect to be putting the same amount of rounds in a combat situation as I would with the M4. I begin to feel the bruising on subsequent shots, but it certainly doesn't deter me from hitting paper targets, so I would doubt it would deter me from making the decision to KoS. Either way, I don't believe that the amount of firing it takes to be fatigued enough to become combat inefficient would be a deterrent to the KoS mindset. Further more, I would think that when presented this situation in real life, the last thing people would think about when determining whether or not to KoS, would be arm fatigue. I would think that the normal engagement time would be much shorter than the amount of time it takes to experience the type of fatigue in which the OP is speaking.
