Hey folks, I'm just passing this information along. Both me and my friend have been having problems where any server we would log into we could not; equip or use any items, open any doors, or see anything we move around in our inventories or pick up. This problem was originating from high desync and we just now learned how to fix it. What to do - 1.) Completely exit out of all Steam games you have open. 2.) Go into your Steam Library. 3.) Right click DayZ and go to Properties. 4.) Click on the Local Files tab. 5.) Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". 6.) Wait for all of the files to be verified, took around 5 minutes for me and my friend. 7.) Log into DayZ and all of your problems should be fixed! So far only me and a friend that I play with have done this, that I know of, and it has worked for both of us. So anyone else who is having the same problem we had please try this and let people know if it works for you or not! Hope this helps!

I think they already have a good idea where they are going. They just need the people to help impliment that into the game faster, as well as those who can clean up the messes players are finding in the current game as it is. Such as when a group of players scipted in grenades for themselves. The developers had to backtrack and waste time fixing a player made issue.

Sorry if it didn't work for you guys, I think Whenlinkattacks is right. Before the desync issues happened we accidently duped a mosin by him giving it to me just before a server restart. So this must be some bug that happens after duping anything, or this could be what happened in my particular case anyways.

You know how to change the drop on your mosin right? Press Pgup and Pgdn and the meters your rifle will shoot before the bullet drops raises or lowers by 100 meters. You can see how many meters in the top right hand corner when your mosin in out. The default is 200 I believe for the mosin.

Well, I was having horrible desync issues before I did this. It told me everything was validated, I logged in, and now I am having no desync issues at all. I'm sorry if it didn't work for you. I'm just trying to be a decent guy and pass along a possible fix to people's problems that worked for me and my friend.

Right, now log back into the game and see if your lag problems are gone.

Lol, well whatever works right? Me and my buddy did this literally in the past hour and it worked for both of us. If your having the problem you might as well try it. Only takes like 5 minutes, you don't lose any of your data, and you'll be able to play the game again. So 5 minutes versus not being able to play decently at all.

Please do if your having the same issue, would be nice if this is a solution that will work for everyone.

How do you know the guy getting chased by zombies was a bandit lol?

For those of us who have friends that play DayZ as well, this would be really nice. Literally ran 40 minutes just to reach my friend yesterday. Basically if you have a friend on your steam friend's list, make a way to fast travel to where they are on the map? Maybe put a time limit on how often you can use it so it isn't abused somehow. I think this would make playing with friends much easier.

Lol I honestly tried teleport and fast travel and got nothing on either, though yea I guess it won't be nearly as bad once there are vehicles. As far as people teleporting away from fights like most of yall are saying... You can just insta log and get out of thoughs currently.

It all began in the water of a beach, I was up to my ankles in the stuff. Quickly deciding that I should move forward I dash onto sandy reaches of the ocean and head northwestward onto what seemed to be a hilly grassy plain. On this I found a few houses, thankfully not running into the walking dead just yet. I carefully search the houses and come across a green backpack levitating against the side of the wall and some camoflauge pants on top of what seemed to be a bookshelf, as well as a rotten orange and some canned tuna lying on the floor. Finished in the houses I continue to head westward until I run Into a large factory building, running through the front doors I can hear the screech of what one could only assume was my first encounter with the dead, knowing I was probably being chased I sprinted through the hallway of the factory hoping to find some sort of weapon considering I still hadn't found one and fists clearly aren't a weapon you should use against something that doesn't feel pain. Near the end of the hall I come into a small square shaped room, a ladder leading upwards and double doors that led back outside. Thankfully I had to take neither, in the center of the room was a large red axe, and in the corner a monkey wrench. I quickly grabbed the axe and flipped around to face the zombie that was right behind me. After the zombie charged into the room and took a clear bite out of my shoulder I swung the axe thrusting it into my pursuer twice ending it. Free from the chase I decide to go outside through the double doors and take a look around, there appeared to be another small factory building to my west which I begin to head towards. Around 30 seconds later about halfway to the other factory I can hear footsteps approaching behind me, I quickly turn in order to face whatever was chasing me. Surprisingly, it was a large black man also wielding an axe who swiftly stabbed the axe into my face ending my life. My screen went black and I could still hear the man taking my rotten fruit before he continued on his way.

Well when a sharp edged axe makes a clean swipe to your face, it stabs a clear 90 degree gash straight down the middle. Might be one hell of a big stab, but its a stab if its entering your body in the way that axe entered me, haha.

Well, I guess this might seem bad, but I'm a noob and my only weapon is a shovel. I tend to server hop every time attract a zombie 0.0. The pro life. :/

Haha sorry ;), I even tried to begin the paragraph with a tab like a real story would, but no, can't do that :P. Nvm Nanoha, I think I just unintentionally became a smartass. <3

I suppose I can't really blame the guy considering he 1 shot me with the axe, so I guess I coulda done the same. Though personally I wouldn't have :P. But its cool, now im just stuck in the wall of some random house I chose to explore. Been trying to vault out for like 20 mins and cant suicide or start a new character so guess I might be screwed.

Was just kinda hoping the first person I met wouldn't be a murderer lol.
