One of my first lives I thought it would be funny to run around with a rotten banana in my hands...didn't have anything else... it was pretty funny, until I accidentally ate it by hitting "interact"..while trying to open a door. Found banana, accidentally ate it, got sick, died. DayZ bambi for the win!

First kill was pretty funny: Was in electro as a fresh spawn, only had a crowbar. Heard sounds of shooting, so like a bambi I went to investigate. Found a dead body that was totally kitted out...was just about to loot this body for the M4 etc...when another totally kitted out player walks around the corner. Uh oh...I think... I wave, go prone and kinda hope that he just loots his kill and leaves... Instead...he pulls out a fire extinguisher and starts waving it around like he wants to fight? Hmm..okay..I'm game...so we start the "donnie dance"...where we circle each other flailing away at each other...and somehow I manage to knock him down...and then finish him off.. Wow...now i have 2 M4's and all the kit...after all the looting ..I'm just soo happy ...first kill and now first gun! As I'm finishing looting...another player comes around corner and waves....so I wave...he does the lean right and left...i lean right and left...hey this is fun! What i didn't know is that he was distracting me....and his buddy run s up behind me and Fire axes me in the head. First kill, first gun, murdered. DayZ...its a blast.

As a totally new player...watched many vids but waited for the SA before buying I would say that I relish many of challenges in Day Z... Sure when you're lost, and playing: "JOG SIM 2014" its not really "fun" ...but you know..eventually you'll learn something from getting lost...so while it was kinda boring to jog through the woods for 45 real life minutes...i did eventually find something and learned from it. The only thing that has put me off so far is the painful way in which you interact with things...whether its the pixel hunting while trying to pick up that rotten kiwi or the horrible mouse lag....those aren't fun... But I also know its alpha...and hopefully some of it will be improved...as other than the way in which you interact with things...its really a lot of fun. Have tried not to KOS (trying to be hero, i know im a fool..), but have had to defend myself a few times when interacting with others. So far only one player has not tried to kill me...we just waved and carried on...was pretty funny. Now if I see a new spawn...I let them see me...then drop a care package in the road...so if you've ever found a water bottle and beans in the middle of the road... you're welcome. New players put off? Nah...its fun... just not a game that you pick up in 20 seconds...its a game that requires some time and thought investment...that..might put people off...but thats probably a good thing...and honestly...thats part of what makes it good... that investment in time is paid off in the sense of accomplishment of finding your first Mosin.... And its slightly a lunch bag let down when you then lose your mosin when you (glitch) fall off a ladder and die without firing a shot out of your new gun...lol.. Welcome to DayZ Alpha...
