More new items with pictures! Mosin Compensator!
Space Milk replied to Zjasuu's topic in General Discussion
By accuracy, he means ballistic wise. Yes a shooter is more precise, but the cartridge/bullet accuracy remains unchanged. Bipods in the game do not affect sway, they affect bullet accuracy. -
There is nothing to even zero with on the shotgun. Kinda weird.
-
55 yards is about 50 meters. The 55 is with slugs. Buckshot would definitely hit the target at that range, he missed barely.
-
I don't think you can do it ATM but possibly when DayZ comes out full release in beta, I like this idea. Some Night time action with a main daytime session.
-
I think there should be a suicide button. But you should only use it after X time from spawn. Thing is people get glitched or have broken legs with nothing to kill them.

NVG person at night: OH look a unsuspecting newspawn, who revealed himself with a flashlight (points gun and fires) Newspawn: Wowzers, that almost hit me, I should run to where the noise is coming from so I can die and spawn in Elektro! (points flashlight at NVG guy) NVG: GAH MY EYES, I AM BLINDED HELP HELP HELP! (Fires randomly) Newspawn: Wow, this guy must be a noob. (punches in face, then punches to death) Newspawn: This is great! I don't have to go to elektro anymore! I got this M4 and all this gear. I'm going to ditch that NVG though, because newspawn will shine it at me and blind me! Dead NVG: Stupid... Night Vision... Rocket... DayZ,.. flashlight... You shine a flashlight at someone wearing these, it will blind them like looking at the sun midday on a clear day. I don't know exactly what to feel about NVG's though. They would keep enlarging the gap between geared people and newspawn.

I actually like this idea regardless of whether you could find it in Chenarus or not. There has got to be a downside to using this weapon, maybe gets worn faster? Breaks easily but common? Super rare? I think it would be the "can opener of guns" in DayZ. Rare but the best.

Because of wind. The upper wind in Chenarus is going west to east (or east to west don't remember) There is no lower wind yet added to the game. And probably the reason for your 9mm from short barreled pistol is because you are holding it with your hand. Your hand is not still, and when you fire you would "flinch" a bit. This affects the bullet trajectory. Longer heavy barreled rifles are more accurate because they are less affected by this, and because usually the cartridge which is bigger has more momentum, thus meaning it is less affected by the wind. I personally don't care I just want the game to be fun and semi realistic. But you guys seriously have a lack of knowledge on guns and ballistics so don't speak this gibberish for all to hear. -

No, he is right. Bipods do not increase accuracy. The military uses them because it makes it easier to switch targets, stay on target (holding with hand which is not still means you might miss a few shots, translated to sway) The bipod is a steady rest. You don't have to be soldier to be these things. A CoD remark is so immature, especially when you demonstrate your lack of knowledge. -
I met this under wear guy back when I first played DayZ SA at the usual suicide place. I was like why are you killing yourself And he said because he was starving to death and needed to get to elektro. Checked his dead body, Every slot was filled with spaghetti but no can opener.

Tired of running in Dayz, here is the solution
Space Milk replied to weedmasta's topic in General Discussion
I didn't respond because I didn't see this thread? Considering the amount of self entitlement and open mindedness to other opinions, (people like you are unconvincable) and because the only thing this would do is to please you, then no, I am not going to meet your demands. -
Improvised Firearms, and some thoughts on night vision.
Space Milk replied to yessaul robinovich's topic in General Discussion
OP doesn't understand what a flare gun is used for. Flare guns and flares are used differently, for two different things. Flares are thrown on the ground Flare guns shoot flares up in the sky, which then detonate making a HUGE flash that can been very visibly for hundreds of miles. Flare guns are used for help and emergencies, what ever, but not for lighting up the dark. Flares can be used for what flare guns can be used for but less visible since it is on the ground, and not as bright. But it can be used for lighting the dark. Flare guns CANNOT handle the recoil of a common shotgun shell, the 12 gauge. I do not know about the smaller 20 gauge. I have fired a flare gun before. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, why would you find flare gun ammo but no flare gun, and must craft it??? Makes zero sense. Now what would be really cool besides flare guns, would be grenade launchers. Grenade launchers, which were once legal, did not just shoot grenades, nor was that their main use (civilian wise) You could load up flares or detonating flare grenades (flares that detonate in the sky like a flare gun) Would be really cool. -
I'm talking about weapons that will be added to the game.
-
I think this is a good idea, although there would be strong opposition and damaging to game growth.

Rivers, Canals, Bridges: Survival Resource, Transport Medium, Natural Chokepoints
Space Milk replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in Suggestions
A long elegant bridge across a river or uncrossable terrain, or between two cities, would be a AMAZING addition to the map. A natural choke point, and risky but rewarding place to cross. Would even be cooler if bridges were destructible by rare demolitions such as semtex or c4(which isn't just American folks, it is worldwide), leaving players to go another way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj_rTmOWQLQ Only watch up to 1:45, the rest is just gameplay in the mission. This is a good example of what can happen at a bridge chokepoint (save for tanks, air vehicles) A clan is raining hell on forces who are retreating from the bridge. Surprise Surprise however, the defenders are arming C4/Semtex on the bridge. BOOM! They detonate the bombs, leaving the aggressors no choice but to go the long way around (maybe several miles away) -
-I am trying to understand why you're being so hostile and antagonistic, and I'm not coming up with anything at all. Is it possible for you to disagree with someone without resorting to personal attacks and completely unnecessary insults? Believe it or not, not everyone who has different opinions than you is a brain-dead idiot.I never said that, YOU DID, I am being so called hostile, because of your ignorant response; "Okay, sorry. Yeah. I can't imagine longer straws at which you might grasp. Do you have real objections to this suggestion, or just fantasy land stuff like this?"You state that my reply is fantasy land stuff? To me, that is a personal attack. Maybe not to everyone, but it is to me. That comment was totally unecessary. Instead of making something as half assed as that you could have actually made a well constructed reply on how my post is wrong -I would really appreciate it if you could try hard to just discuss your ideas like an adult, and not inject more of your pointless vitriol into this thread.I wish you could too. -With spawn points clustered the way they are now, you are at most 4000m from any other spawn point, which takes ~10 minutes to run. So, I disagree that players would take this route. It would not save them any time over simply running to where they want to be. In fact, it would probably take longer. They aren't clustered. More than half the spawns are centralized in one area. This area is not that far from elektro, or from Berezino. Those are two directions people head in. Bambis can ask people on the run if they can kill them, or they could head to the cities, where people looking for a fight, fully geared maniacs, are at waiting to shred them up and have fun. Both sides win. -Besides, Dean has announced that server-swapping will be addressed in the next patch (see here). Players are not going to be allowed to quickly change servers anymore, so staying on a server and running to where you want to be will be vastly superior to hunting around on other servers for a murderer. Most of the forum has already read that. It is faster to get killed on the run or to elektro than it is to find a gun, ammo, and supplies at the current state of the game. When loot is finished, then you would be right. -I feel like we have discussed this. There are no longer any spawn points in Elektro, Cherno or Balota (and there never have been any in Stary Sobor). There's a spawn point in Novy Sobor, but you get it maybe 1 out of every ~20 spawns. You would absolutely get there faster just by running. Not true at the moment, although it is uncommon to spawn in those cities, it is very possible. I have spawned in Elektro countless of times. Novy Sobor is a very rare spawn on the other hand. The cities are easy and fast to get to. With one road connecting them, it is likely to meet another player to ask him to kill you. -You've said that, mate. You don't have to keep saying it. Also, you might want to switch over to using "IMO" instead of "IMHO" because you do not deliver your opinion in a manner that any reasonable person would describe as "humble."H isn't for humble, it is for honest. I am reaffirming my position, and again you don't have to continue with the trite immature replies. Even if I am doing it, it doesn't mean you have to be a sheeple and do the same thing. That is why too many fights happen in public schools. -I'm not sure if this is a serious suggestion; I don't understand why you keep proposing it. If the map had a single spawn point, it would be constantly watched by a dozen snipers and assault riflers on every server. New spawns wouldn't get 5m without being gunned down.Yes, you are right. Which is exactly why there would be snipers and infantry (not assault riflers, not a term) there in the cities. Save for the unecessary attack, if all your posts were as reasonable as this, you wouldn't be complaining about me.

Meeting the Hacker Within: A challenge to the Devs and the community.
Space Milk replied to mangozapp's topic in Suggestions
OP makes the ignorant mistake by stating most hackers are insecure people and that hacking is a social issue. That hackers want attention. I used to use scripts on CSS and CSGO. hacked a few multiplayer games on the Internet, and hack some old games like MechWarrior 2 and MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries. Of course I do not do it anymore, as you can see on my profile I was banned from CSGO, which marked the beginning of the end for my scripting and hacking. Why did I do this? Because I could, and it was fun. To be able to have a skill of going outside the box, outside what the rules are and what is possible, is great! Many hackers (not script kiddie only people) go into computer science for this reason. In programming, you can do WHATEVER you want. In multiplayer games like CSS and CSGO, it is amazing to practically have the power of a god and win most of the time. Hacking communities, REAL hacking communities, are actually full of people that are really nice and intelligent. Of course those script kiddie sites are not the same. Now I will get to the main post. Hackers, especially script kiddies, deserve zero sympathy for anything. All policies on hacking should be zero tolerance. Spotted hacking? Ban and remove from the community. Because being a god means hurting people, and it is only fair, not equal, that everyone is on a similar foot. OP has no idea about what hacking means and what opportunities it can hold for in the future. P.S: Creative smart kids, should go into hacking, as it promotes creative thinking and different ways of doing things. Computer programming and hacking ARE THE BEST WAYS to promote critical and creative thinking. -
Being able to start with superior clothing like rain coats and back packs is a definite nono. No.

BTW why would you buy a titan anyway but keep a old CPU? Instead of buying a HD+ monitor which looks similar to HD, you should buy a new mother board and CPU, like the i5 4570k and z87 chipset. My 2 cents.
-
The PPSH is no longer used in the military or widely used by the populace, even semi automatic. Not to mention you have to add a whole new cartridge just for this, and the cartridge is barely used by other weapons. Pointless

Have you bothered to check some benchmarks? Pretty sure there are some on Toms Hardware with that setup.

Tired of running in Dayz, here is the solution
Space Milk replied to weedmasta's topic in General Discussion
Why should people spend an hour searching the map for gun and ammo? Nothing wrong with server hopping, according to your logic. I mean, why should you strain your eyes searching for stuff so you could easier at night? -
Would be cool if the guy fawkes mask and a black cape with a matching hat was added.

You guys should be banned if you aren't actively engaged in the game. Seriously, this ruins the spirit of the game. Seriously seriously, you lot of hypocrites should be banned, you preach spirit of the game, no auto run, etc, yet you do the same thing yourself....
