All you guys are scaring me with hacker stories, I have yet to see one, guess i'll stay in the woods, munching berrries till Beta, at which time I belive that hacking will be at least diminished. At that time, my army of M4 wielding Bunnies and I will rise up, and take over Balota...

Honestly, I like a nice pair of cargo pants, maybe a tactical shirt or hoodie, some beige gloves make me happy, and an assault vest. Besides that, I enjoy running around with a bright orange hardhat, then of course my group make me take it off ;(

I just want to be able to board up a home in the middle of nowhere, and sit cuddling myself while , my corn crops grow :) EDIT: Anybody wanna come with me, we could start a snuggle party :P

This is a very interesting post, I personally learned quite a bit of history about this country. I'm now hoping that the devs try to take the countries actual history, and link the game to it somehow, that would be pretty cool. You say there were a multitude of civil wars in that area, maybe in the dead center of the map, there should be some kind of war-torn city, you know, ruined buildings, shell craters in the road, the remnants of a war, forgotten in the turmoil of the infection...

Just want to know what any of you would have done in the following situation I experienced... I'm with a friend of mine, and we plan on heading to Elektro, in order to get a little action. I have an M4, magnum and generally nice gear, my friend, (ill call him melon here) had a blaze 95 and quite a few rounds. Casually walking along, I suddenly hear melon yell at me to get down. As he is much better than me at DayZ, I did as I was told, dropping to the ground, looking around, I see why... A squad of four full gears, teenage voices laughing as they execute a bambi... As we were in a skype call, I mention to melon, 'how about we ambush them further up the road' as we where in the treeline, I assumed we could have easily killed a few of them before they realized what was happening, and the remaining would be easy to pick off. Melon responds with a no, and we agree to watch them, and act accordingly. 15 minutes later, as we are flanking Elektro, melon is hit with a mosin bullet, luckily he survives his wounds with only a little bleeding. Diving for cover, I look around, unable to find the shooters, next thing I know, a few M4's chirp up, slicing my 2 week old character to pieces...We made a bad decision, what would you have done?

I dunno guys, we made a bad decision by waiting for them, I feel as though if we followed them, and waited for them to stop, we could have easily gotten some nice gear :P

That's the thing, we weren't in Elektro, we were on a hill overlooking it, we were there 2 mins before shit hit the fan, I have a feeling whom ever killed us came from behind XD Anyway, I'm happy I was killed, coz, later, with nothing to lose, I ran around Elektro like a derp, and found a full Pristine M4 with an acog and 60 round dual mag :) That coupled with my new fireaxe, yellow raincoat, and orange helmet, I'm set....

People whom KOS, either are paranoid, and don't trust anyone, which is understandable, or lack the creativity to do something... This doesn't mean they suck, more likely, they are better at combat tactics then us Heroes...

Another little thing to get all your minds off the sadness of DayZ... In your opinion, who is more annoying?

Sounds like maybe you need a better PC...

Hi guys, this little thread here is kinda a two part thread. Firstly, I would like to know, which guns or bullet calibres break a players legs in this game, and is it distance specific? Secondly, is bleeding 'area dependant', meaning, head, or hip wounds will bleed worse than that of an arm wound.

Hope that's added, smacking someone across the face with a knife should cause sever bleeding...

yes it should don't worry, if the page doesn't say 'mod' on it, then that's standalone!

'Bandits for life' lol, next time I kill a bandit, I'll walk up and say 'heroes for life' Don't worry man, just remember, don't get attached to your gear, stay out of sight, and loot during the night. Maybe you should join people like me, and live in the trees... No contact, just a silent samaritan...

Sorry dude, I should have been more specific in the original post, I don't mean EVERYONE falls into one of these categories. When I say player, I mean out of all the people considered 'annoying in-game' even that can be grouping, just kinda going off personal experience. AKA, these are the players I consider irritating, from both experience, and from reading the forum.

It seems as the game is progressing, less and less people are being assholes, to pt it bluntly.

I do't have a scope for my M4, sooooooooo, should I use the carryhandle optic, or use the bare end of the barrel. Although clearer, isn't it significantly less accurate?

Get your basic loot near Elektro, head inland if your on a low pop server, try for Balota, other than that, steer clear of the eastern coast...

Last option, if you can't get help here, email the steam support, I don't care waht anyone else says, I emailed them, and within a few days, I got a reply, and it fixed my problems!

Since your new, here are some tips, stay low, move fast, learn which building have the best loot (School, fire-station, hospital, ATC, jailhouse, police station) learn where those buildings are, and only go to those. Find some friends, get a group together. Finally establish a route for looting. Once your geared make your decision on how you will play, hero, bandit, koser, etc....

Find a low pop server 1-3 best, go to either NWAF, or Balota... That's how I gear up quick, spend two hours on low pop servers, hit elektro, and Balota, i'm geared in no time!

That method will work until character stats are shifted from the hives, to your steam cloud.

Just want to know what you guys think is the best weapon setup.
