I say "Friendly" because I want to help. Though if I get shot, then oh well. Though I see your point, I see people are only friendly when they are unprepared for combat and don't wish to die. But don't need to be harsh about it :s

You can press/hold the enter key to switch from 1st to 3rd person. Just take a look at your controls and you'll learn everything you'd ever like to know relating to controls.

I understand one of the reasons why you'd like to have single player. I too just got the game earlier this week, I was scared to go into a world that I had no understanding and learn through tough situations. But if you just read the list of servers and their details, you can either find friendly servers or find ones with little or no population or both! If I were you, I'd join and favorite the friendly servers. There is a greater chance that you'll encounter a person who is there for the same reason as you are and can possibly help each other out. I've been playing on them ever since and haven't had many issues and met some great people while learning the game at a comfortable pace.

Yeah, it's annoying. But I'm sure it will be calibrated to be less frustrating and more realistic.

I know I haven't seen every possible element in the game or know every aspect of it. But, I do know that I understand the concept of the game overall and the risks, bugs, etc with it. Along with any other important points. But what I'm trying to say here is, what can I do to help out with the game, the forums, anything? Where can I go to show a member of the staff team of this great game and express I'd like to do what I can to help out, beyond than just playing the game?

DayZ surly is well known. No need me to advertise ( I hate spammers on social media). And as for funds, I'm pretty tight for cash. My last game purchase was in the beginning of last summer, I'm only a college student. Besides, it's not like they're low on funding... I want to do something more than word of mouth.

Having the privilege in being a part of this Alpha further amazes me with the amount of work that goes in many games. I'm not to familiar with all the DayZ staff, or the forum team either. But I do hear a lot of this rocket person! To those who are playing a big part in this game's development, keep up the great job. I am one of many people who appreciate your hard work. Anyways I have friends who make games, but nothing compared to this, they try explaining the process of how they go about it. Sadly, I don't understand much of it, but I can see that a lot of effort is put into it. I've been playing games ever since I can remember, when I was younger I never put thought in how the game even came to existence. To me it was a fun game, and I wanted more. But as I discovered more behind the scenes of many aspects of entertainment like TV shows, movies, cartoons, and of course video games I began to see that it wasn't simple at all. Over the years of my friendship with a talented individual who made simple games, I've seen the quality of his work improve. But for massive games out there, I just can't even comprehend what may be going on in the scenes of the development, like DayZ. Regardless, you know you're making something great, keep up the awesome work and I appreciate your time and effort. :D I see many people who are upset about Alpha, and I feel bad for the forum teams and staff who have to read that. But I hope the staff can see posts like mine and show them what they're a part of is much appreciated by me and many enthusiastic players who wish to see this game develop further. Not sure if they have a big update in store for us, but I sure they are working on it. I bet key issues will be fixed. Also it was up to you or anyone else who wanted to pay and play the game. There was a cost clearly stated, with a warning indicating the flaws. Not sure why you're this upset.

Then I'm not sure, I've never had any problems in any games like this. Besides, it's only one server. Try to find out who owns the server and message them about your situation.

In many online games I often am able to help people out. Besides that this is a great game, once I heard that you can become a hero that's what helped me make my final decision. I do like to help people a lot. I used to be a Minecraft administrator for a network of servers. I helped hundreds of people online and on the forums while running a FaceBook page for the servers. It's just a fun habit, I like to help people when I can, so why not in this game too? :D

I lose all control of my game when I run for too long, which is odd. I end up having to close the game too.

It's happened to many people, just hang in there until this problem is fixed!

Yeah, that can happen. It's alpha, so don't fret about it too much. We were warned. Hang in there! All you can do is wait until it is fixed.

Yeah, I've been wiped out like that. It seems that it has some sort of probability of wiping you when you join a server. I was in and out of servers because they had bad connections. So I attempted to cycle through a few until I can find a playable server for myself. During that process I was wiped when I joined in one of them. No reason at all either. It's alpha, so we were warned! Hang in there! And hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Yeah, I have to keep changing my visual settings and controls each time I start the game up. It appears to not save, but I'm sure it will be fixed. Hang in there!
