How would you climb ladder with both M4 + Mosin? Afaik you cannot go up/down ladder with anything in hand. -
My thoughts also, cant see where was the need to shoot the guy at all. Also the orders given and bully talk... not my cup of tea.

Another useless post. At this stage its pretty clear the dev team knows about the random player wipes... It could even be done on purpose for all we know (to test out thing, who knows?) - We all are lab rats on this Alpha early release, best thing to help? Log specific bugs in bug tracker - unless its a duplicate of course.

But the dev have no promise to when specific things will be fixed, they likely are working on many things and they will get fixed and rolled when they choose to. Looks to me you still dont understand the concept of the early release.

I find it amazing to read stuff like this still despite the alpha warning on logon and the amount of bugs known in the game. Its mind boggling.

You are missing the point. What would tell whether you are a bandit/hero? Hero would also be required to kill in order to protect the fresh spawn or whatever. There are so many factors that come in for someone to decide to kill another player it would be unfair and plain stupid. The karma system is possibly the only way to regulate how often someone kills someone else - you have to count on players wanting to better themselves for that to work however, not an easy task! -

The only a system will discouraged KOS or Bandit is a Karma system, attached to the player profile overall - it wouldn't cure all but I would could help. A huge part of what makes this game so interesting are the PVP encounters, it would be ruined if you could tell meters away if someone was bad/good. Another thing that could help a lot are bullet proofing jackets of sorts, that way even running into bandits may not result in your death.... -
Rope only support your weight while under tension, there are well known knots that will let you slack it and get it back with the hook on it.

DayZ was built on a Mod previously and so for me its got to have mod support in. Of course this should be away from the public hive, on private servers.

With the game as it stands I cant see it making any sense. I'd rather see hunting and food cooking/gathering introduced personally.

I think you are missing the entire point of what DayZ is. Without this type of very creative ways to play the game one would be confine to bandit/loot or both. It is all those various factions/communities interacting in game which creates the DayZ experience, we are only provided with a canvas then make the masterpiece ourselves! Not to mention that all those various experiment feeds Devs with exploit/glitch/info to make the game better! -

Was going to say something along these lines. I really like the creativity of the concept you guys have created - idea now springs to mind to create a group to track you guys down and prevent you doing captures / experiments / exterminations ..... :) -

I definitely agree on some stuff from the OP. Much everything looks a little too clean, would be nice to have some cities/villages really decimated with more vehicles wrecks and damaged buildings but also more ambient FX like fires, insects/animals and rotten corpses. -
While im a newbie at DayZ I can't believe someone would say this. Am I wrong in thinking that what makes DayZ's appeal is precisely that there are no set goals in the game - other than survive of course! I guess different stroke for different folks because the idea of banding, getting weapons and then wait for fresh-spawns is not at all something I would see as rewarding nor interesting at all in a survival game like DayZ.

I use a simple solution to this for now, I only join servers with very few players on them! like 2-6 or even 0 - this is because I am new and I have seen in large cities with 20+ players what it can be like!
