Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail

mmm well that is simply not accurate. The game is alpha so much will change and ultimately your reasoning will fail, not the game. By the way the game has already won, its a success. And just to illustrate, my player of a few weeks got reset last night, I spawn back at Cherno Harbor - which I thought was Electro at first - I re-kitted (food, drink, essentials, weapon, ammo, backpack) in less than 1h (albeit with the help of a friend half way) - all this on a 30 slots full server. -
Unsure if linked but happened at same time as a massive servers restart

There was a problem an hour ago or so with London based servers ... I got reset too. No matter, rekitted pretty well in less than 1h with help of a buddy.

Its a sunflower (actually they have collision on them they are that big!! ) but I'm certainly hoping to see medicinal plant harvesting come into the game at some point.

Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?

I am for that idea - would prefer to see it Hive based but I understand how difficult this would be to manage... But for the idea, yeah it make sense. A survivor would definitely have some sort of "base" at some point where resources can be kept. Ideally I would like to see either of these 3 scenarios: - Camo tents which you first have to find then you can deploy anywhere in the map and store things in. - Claim of a house: you can claim certain type of houses to be your base - this house becomes impenetrable top others unless axe to the door for a while - Burying of yellow case / ammo box, would work with the use of a more permanent map, give the player the possibility of burying the yellow case or ammo box with items in it for retrieval at later time. The advantage of such an idea would be that other than the location of the dig nothing is required on the server. -
Im not 100% sure but I think players are treated differently in the rendering process as the rest of the objects/terrain. The factor that determines the visibility of the other players is bound to what people in Arma engine call the "network bubble" - this is a bubble radius where information on players and their position is known to you the player. You can easily imagine that it wouldn't be possible to have a network bubble too big or the amount of info to bring to the player at every tick would be considerable. So maybe it isn't so much to do with the graphical option of quality (you may have noticed that low/normal settings graphics aren't even different) but more to do with this network bubble - we don't know how it works and how big it is however. This would explain what's been noticed:

Adding more gun variety yes but reducing the number of them in the servers loot spawn slot ... so guns will become a rare item, or the ammo. Ammo rare would be much better. -
Didnt read the WoT but we already know they will be in, albeit a rare item it should be.
