I had the same issue earlier and I deleted my DayZ.cfg (just the DayZ one and not the user name one) and verified files and it worked just fine after that. Not sure if that's a universal fix but it did the job for me.

Mags seem to be rare all over. Every person I've encountered is using a shotgun, red-9, SKS or Mosin. Plenty of carbines and AK's lying around on the floor though.

Anyone having trouble finding pistol or rifle magazines? After about 6 or 7 hours of playtime all across the map I have only found one AK-74 mag at a helicrash and assorted SMG mags at police stations. Besides that absolutely nothing. Food is also overabundant. There's way too much considering that you get stuffed so quick now. Other than that it's been OK. Can't wait to see what they add in coming weeks.

Played for the first time in forever. Got about 3 or 4 hours in. Desync was bad but was still pretty fun. Looked everywhere but couldn't find a magazine for a pistol or any rifle despite the guns being plentiful. While looking for choppers up north got Session Lost out of nowhere. When trying to log back in got a message saying that my character could not be found and was reset. Ended up a fresh spawn in Elektro. Very frustrating.

I eventually ran into a few infected here and there at Grishino and NWAF. It's strange almost every building and area I looted on my way to NWAF had plenty of items but every building I checked at NWAF only had flares and other junk items. Also has anyone seen a chopper crash? It was dark but I couldn't see them in their spots they have been stuck in during previous versions of 57. Was wondering if they have been fixed or removed.

Performance has been good for me, although so far I haven't seen a single infected on the server I'd played on (Central 0-2 I think). Spawned in Khelm with like 4 other fresh spawns. Managed to get well kitted in under an hour. Aside from no infected this has been the most pleasant DayZ has been for quite a long time.

I really hope some good updates come in this next week. I just did a fresh OS install on my computer and I'm not going to bother reinstalling DayZ until I read something good on these forums. I've had a lot of fun with the game but it just seems like a boring grind to me now.

Apples make surviving easy, albeit not very fun.

Spawned in Cherno. No loot, no zombies. Only thing I found was a person running about in their underwear playing Def Leppard over VOIP. Headbanged with said person for a bit then did the suicide animation asking them to punch me out. Re-spawned literally 50m from where I died on the coast. Picked apples for 10 minutes. Found a hat in a nearby house I couldn't loot. Spent 5 minutes being teleported back outside the house trying to re-enter to loot the hat unsuccessfully. Hit exit to close the game. Let out a long sigh of defeat. Made a sandwich. Now I'm here.

It does seem like loot seems more natural the further north-west you go. I got to the barn cluster just to the north-east of Green Mountain and there were tools spawning and even found a soda and a can of tuna. I'm guessing the players moving inland are pushing the loot spawns inward. Hopefully the can adjust the CLE to compensate for this soon.

I hope so. Oddly enough the next town I got to I managed to find a tumpet and the materials to make a courier bag, then found a m65 jacket in a random house. Lol I should complain more often. Still I feel as if the play hours it took to get this far was a bit much, I'm still happy about my finds.

Nice to see some others have having some luck with this update. I've been from Kamy to Elektro to Pusta to Mogilevka and all I have is a beret, a sledgehammer and a green raincoat. I know the devs and some in the community might disagree with me but I feel that running from town to town picking apples isn't hardcore. It's boring. Just my observations. Gonna give it another try before I wait for the next update.

Yeah all the times I thought I had accidentally duped it just turned out to be visual. If I logged out and back in the copy was not there anymore. Could be different for others but for me it has just been for show.

Where'd you find 6 slot pants? I'm still in the jeans I spawned in with a silenced AK somehow lol.

Towards the end of my play session I was experiencing some really bad latency problems. Not desync but really high ping to where it was lagging. Checked my connection and it seemed OK but who knows. After a while of playing I realized that almost everything I had of value had come from PVP and not looting. Had trouble really finding anything good even after checking multiple military areas throughout the night on multiple servers.

Hi guys. Been playing for a couple hours. Been an up and down experience. Some servers I haven't found loot, some I have. Some servers have had very bad inventory/action desync, others haven't. I managed to loot up a basic kit and then got a kill for the rest of my loot so I don't have a very good picture of the loot situation. Inventory is acting very strange to say the least. All in all I've been having fun though. Can't wait to see how they expand on this in further updates.

Found a "solution" when fighting zombies. Albeit it won't be a good idea in pvp situations or near a server restart. But whenever a zombie starts coming after me I just drop all my clothes off. Fight it off and then grab all my gear back. Seems so far to be the only way to not have my clothes ruined every time I run into a zombie. Lol this game.

Pretty torn about this patch. Sneaking around zombies is fun and it's cool that they are harder to kill, but the desync makes them more of an annoyance than terrifying. They teleport to you and spam hits without animation. The biggest problem is that I'm not afraid of them killing me they just spam a bunch of low damage hits that ruin clothing. The loot is also a bit perplexing. It is definitely cool that loot has no specific buildings that it's limited to. I thought that was one of the dumbest things about the loot tables previously. But this seems to come with a trade off. Yeah it's cool that there's a small chance you find an AK in a civilian house but every military place I've gone too was packed full of civilian loot. I did a bit of testing by hopping a few servers at the military base way up north in the barrack. I found more often than not barracks filled with dresses and knitted hats. It basically negates the need to go to places like this. My character has a silenced MP-5, an m-65 jacket, a high capacity vest and a skull balaclava and none of it was found at a military base or chopper crash. So why go to dangerous places when there isn't any point? I know it's early and this will get fixed. Game is going in the right direction, just a bit frustrating.

Been playing tonight and haven't had any problems getting disconnected. I did do a reinstall but I think they may have changed something with the servers. I took my geared character down to spy what was going on in Electro. Watching all the fresh spawns deal with the zombies was funny. There was no loot left almost anywhere. I had to check half the town just to find a pair of shoes to replace my boots. Desync seemed pretty bad. Had a run in with an invisible zombie. Besides that the game felt pretty good for EXP.
-
I'll have to check that one out and see if I get better results.

That's weird I've been playing on some UK servers with high ping and haven't dealt with any desync (at least that I've noticed). It doesn't seem like it's unstable. It's just they reset so frequently. The message pops up and it resets like normal. Just does it way to often. Earlier today I was playing on US5-01 and one reset period lasted like an hour. I rejoined back onto it immediately and it reset in about 15 minutes. So random.
-
I wish the servers could stay up longer. Despite the glitchy things I've had a pretty good time with this EXP patch. The server just doesn't stay up long enough to populate. I join up on the next most populated one, and then it resets, repeat.
-
I haven't had any problems with zombies instantly respawning. However the are about impossible to melee. They get bugged out and kind of like stick to you and spam hits on you. Luckily I found a pistol and silencer fairly quickly so I've not had too much of a problem with them. Any fresh spawn that runs into them is gonna have a hard time though.
-
Huh, now that you mention that the pistol pouch I found was damaged. Maybe that modified the condition instead of the zombie.
-
I found one and the pistol pouch for it. It's pretty cool but one zombie hit took it from pristine to damaged. Supposed to stop bullets but can't handle some rough scratches lol. Hopefully they beef it up in the future.
