Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
Greaves replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
Reloading your mosin/magnum from the ammo box is not very fast when you're trying to shoot someone. And i don't think pistol and M4 mags fit in there. -
Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
Greaves replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
I think that would be pretty heavy, plus you would need to carry enough ammo for both main guns, and your handgun. That takes slots quickly. I know the axe isn't very light either, but still. Mosin and handgun combo works just fine for me at the moment. -
I experience rubberbanding sometimes, but i get pulled back a few meters tops. Not kilometers. Thats pretty damn extreme.

White male, black beanie hat, Rocket's aviators, camo outfit, blue press vest, blue backpack, scoped mosin. I'll post a screen later. Can't wait for more customisation options. Personlly i can't look any more different than the default white male available now. I want long blond hair and a half arsed beard! I refuse (gas) masks and any form of helmets whenever my mates tell me i should get those. Everyone i meet has those things. So boring. I like my blue press vest and backpack as well, it looks a bit more friendly somehow. And it's how my mates tell me apart. Blue over camo, from the front and rear.

I think I found the rarest item in the game so far
Greaves replied to autoloon's topic in General Discussion
Haven't found a single blood test kit yet. Nor those red dot sights you speak of. My character is stumbling over piles of can openers though. Found so much of those. -
I can see hillarious moments happening with a megaphone.

Well, sir, at least you won't run out of supplies anytime soon. The reward of helping people!

Shipwreck as well.

This is because of lag. You are interacting with stuff, but your screen doesn't show it. So you might have dropped that stuff, although on your screen it was still in your inventory. For instance, if i try to pick up some beans, and drag them to my inventory slot, but nothing happens, i just move on. After the lag spike is over, i see that the beans are removed from the shelf, and in my inventory. Just don't try different things over and over, because you may drop/switch a lot of stuff and not notice until the lag spike is over. If you notice stuff doesnt work, get in a bush and wait (because you also wont see other players moving). Shouldnt be too long before it works again.

Optional would be fine in my opinion. That way more people can have fun, without ruining it for others.
-
This might actually be a pretty good idea.
-
You say fun, but everyone has a different opinion on fun. Some might find adding robots from outer space fun, but would that fit in the game, as the developers see it? Na. I prefer ''UltraHardcoreRealism''. To each his own. It all depends on what the devs will want the game to be, ultimately.
-
You underestimate me. I would actually love for these things to be in game. It will keep the scum away, which for me is the biggest dealbreaker at the moment.
-
I want all of those things in the game. Isn't this game about simulating life in the zombie apocalypse? Then let it be life-like, is what i say.
-
I vote for ultra realism in every aspect (yes i know, the zombie apocalypse is not real, but everything else) There is only so far you can go, though. I like to play the game as real life like as possible. But it's still a game, it's not me ducking behind cover, hearing the bullets fly around, but it's my character. There is no real problem for me if he dies. So i'll never have the same realistic fear in-game, than i would in real life. But thats a good thing. The game can still be pretty tense. However, there are a LOT of players who treat the game like a ''top lel hurr durr shot dat dudez faec i win'' arcade shooter. Like, say, Battlefield. This is not what the Devs had in mind. If those players would move on to other games, like, say, Battlefield, the game would become way more realistic already. (Not to be condescending to gamers who play arcade shooters, hell, i like a good game of Battlefied every now and then. But don't make the mistake of thinking they're the same sort of game.)

If you look at the latest Dev update, these are their priorities at the moment: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/ Server performance, stability and securityAnimals & huntingCooking & gathering resourcesPlayable user customizable vehiclesPlayer created constructions in the environmentMore complex interactions with the environment and crafting optionsStreamlined user actions and interfaceControl and animations expanded and improved for fluidityUpgraded graphics and physics engine (including ragdoll, etc.)Support of user mods and more flexibility for user hosted servers and game typesNo clue what they'll patch in first though.

I'm addicted enough to roam the forum constantly while i'm at work.

If you go into an unlooted shipwreck as a fresh spawn, you'll come out quite happy. Best watch your back there though, that ship is a maze on the inside. When my mates and me loot it, we always leave one on the lookout. Saved our asses once. On topic: Yeah Cherno, Elektro and the Balota airfield never fail for me.
-
Add me on Steam (same name and pic), playing with another guy will bring some fun back into the testing for ya. Plus, we get make some other guys happy. Most guys i met thanked me, because i was the first who didn't shoot them in the face right away. To quote some bloke from yesterday: ''Maybe there is some hope for Standalone after all.'' Thats how much KoS there is at the moment.
-
I had this happen with my very first character. Got myself everything, and some spare loot like vests for my mates. When i logged into another server, my shoes, backpack (with all the spare loot in it), combat vest and some of my other stuff was gone. Had to walk across half the map bare footed to get to me mates. Still had my M4, at least.
-
That is so random and hillarious. I had a pretty fun moment yesterday, when i climbed over the stone-filled mountain between Cherno and Elektro. I glitched into one of the rocks, and it kept me moving around a bit, until it decided it was done with me. It seemed to litterally eject me from the mountain. I flew up in the air, down the mountain, and landed at the bottom. Only my legs were broken, i didn't die or anything.

I never shoot people without communicating first, unless i see them unloading a clip on fresh spawns. But 'tis surprising how few people have actually communicated back to me so far. When i hold armed players up, and tell them (always voice chat) to not move or i'll shoot, about 80% simply move and get shot. Not a word. And when i walk up to unarmed players and ask them a question, most of them don't respond. They just walk away. A simple hello would be nice. I thought communication was a core element in DayZ?

Keep in mind that with adding new stuff, more bugs show up. So if they keep adding stuff while the older bugs aren't resolved yet, the pile of bugs just gets bigger and bigger, and they'd have to clean up that pile in the end all at once, or at least most of it. That's not very fun work. So let them fix what's in the game now, and than add more.

Great post, and i think the devs might already have thought of some of these ideas. But it wouldn't hurt for this thread to be stickied, or mailed to Rocket.
-
I don't mean to talk down to or offend anyone. I'm only talking about the situation where i hold up people, not vice versa. And some people just seem to think trying something like running or turning to shoot me is safer than simply complying and talking.
