Crosshair gone would be good, and there'd probably be less loot. Also, maybe reduce sprinting time from infinite to 3 minutes.
-
Looks like you didn't hide well enough. Lives were lost that day. So sad.
-
Don't know any people who hate Brazilians. I know a couple who hate French people though. Some even hunt them in DayZ.
-
Well now that you're talking about it, i went West of Balota last night, to a small town called Kamenka. Hardly any zombies there. But when i gunned down a few with the M4, they came running from every direction. Shot down 5 more, and axed about 4 more. There aren't as many zombies in Kamenka, i think.
-
Except the extra lag and desync. Which i seem to have more in (semi) full servers. You can also ditch the backpack for more difficulty.
-
^That, and otherwise, google a bit. If you really can't figure it out, submit a ticket to Steam service. I've had it once or twice, just waiting a bit fixed it for me.
-
You're right. If you would be so kind as to call a dev and post his reply here, all would be cleared up.
-
I'd love nighttime. As long as there's no gamma cheaters in the server.
-
Probably needs more tweaking. They lowered some respawn rates, but maybe they removed them completely from some parts, accidentally.
-
Nothing wrong with Steam. Only had one or two ''problems'' in the 4 years i used it, and customer service always replied to my questions right away. If not for Steam, you probably wouldn't be playing Standalone now. (/Valveknight out)

Light RP, Community Growth, Private Server Discussion
Greaves replied to Katabasis's topic in General Discussion
And yet 80% of the people playing DayZ don't play the role of a human being. They derp around, doing unnatural things. This breaks immersion massively. The fact that 80% of every server population kills on sight is immersion breaking. There aren't that many psycho's in real life. I hope. OP, can you message me your teamspeak/mumble IP? I'd love to discuss this with you guys. Never mind, saw it on page 2. I'll be checking this out tonight, after work. -
URGENT: Many servers misconfigured, disconnected from the hive!
Greaves replied to BanditHero's topic in General Discussion
I think the problem is that since they added sub-hives, all the servers connected to the main hive and servers on sub-hives are mixed up. So if all the servers were to be categorised to hives, it'll be fine. Or just always stick to the same server. Don't hop, you noob. -
This game isn't ment to be ''fair'', ''rewarding'' (in item sense) or ''balanced''. To a degree. I wish the map was twice as big.
-
Just checking in. Hows it coming?
Greaves replied to Chronos Blackburn's topic in General Discussion
I think hunting & cooking is going to be added pretty soon. -
I still don't get why players are allowed to zoom in in the first place. You can't zoom in in real life, why can you in game? Shouldn't first person vision always stay the same? And only give the scopes ability to zoom.
-
I lol'd, but i think there will be one or two interesting questions he answers to. Thanks for the link OP. I don't do reddit myself, but things like this are interesting.
-
I understand you, but i think that you, like the OP, are playing the wrong game. Just read some of the posts on this thread to see why it IS the game for some people.
-
Yes. All i can do now is wait for modders (don't think the devs will do this) to cut the map in chunks and randomly throw them together, so to speak. Like Orlok said. (On specific servers, ofcourse.) And if you're starting to get to know the map, move to another one.) Or a new map, twice as big, if i had my way. But that might be too much to dream for.
-
That would do it. I'd be lost again. I hope some good modders will do this sort of thing.
-
I can't agree more, but unfortunately i let myself be spoiled by a mate, who insisted on cramming every little detail about the game down my throat. I got to know the map and mechanics within a day. The most fun part was when i first spawned, and i seemed lost in a big world. Now the map is just small to me. I'm trying to find a way to get back, but i think it's too late. I'm not using the external map anymore though. But i don't even need it anymore to get to places. It all happened too fast. Rocket brand new map plz :( Or a device which erases specific parts of memory would be good too.
-
Happy birthday, and welcome to DayZ.
-
Why do you always reply negatively? You're not a very fun person, are ya. We all know they're not gonna be implemented soon, but so what? Can't we discuss them?

Suggestion for future patches (not about items or features, plz read)
Greaves replied to Wernsley (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
For the people telling me to just not read the patch notes: please read before trying to make smart comments. -
So my character got wiped.. *FREE GUMMY BEARS*
Greaves replied to P3Nn's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't make it free if i was them. People will download it, play it, get bored, and when the beta/final product comes out, they won't buy it cause they've seen what the game is about, and played a long time during the alpha for free. -

Greaves replied to Wernsley (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
People are already finding stuff that wasn't in the patch notes, so i think the devs do want some surprises for us. But like i said, a spoiler tag with the details would work. People who just want to get the testing over with can do that, and others can be surprised.
