    Where to meet someone

    I was in Cherno the other night, snipers were killing people. So I left. The whole coast line is like the bad side of town. I did meet a guy in Brenzino a while back who was friendly. So, maybe I'll head back that way tomorrow.

  3. Yeah, I understand your point. And I'm sure it's true in some cases, but I don't think these forums have been swept away by a wave of people trying to look tough in front of others. Sure, we might not all be 300lb navy seals who get to laugh at kids coming in to boot camp. So, when we get to tell a whiney forum user with 1 post to "toughen up or get the fuck out!" we take some enjoyment in it. But, we're not taking that stance on the issue because we get to tell them that, it's just works out that way. A lot of people are drawn to DayZ because it requires you to be "Hardcore". Check the requirements.

    What games have you been playing? I wouldn't mind checking them out. All I can seem to find is the same recycled garbage that is horribly watered down so it doesn't upset the vocal majority and possibly hurt the publishers profits.

    I've always been confused about the fact that your "Eye" bars go up when you walk on a road or other hard surfaces. Shouldn't it be your noise that increases?

    That makes sense and all, but it's not just tall grass versus road, it's around houses and stuff. Short grass/dirt/gravel/road/etc are not consistent. Can the arma engine not determine weather it's short or tall grass? It just doesn't make sense sometimes, I'll be sneaking around a town and step on the "wrong" piece of ground and be more visible. Not that I want it to be easier, I just don't think it's consistent.

    So give feedback! Why all this negativity towards the people who like the broken elements? That was the whole point of my post above, the only one who can determine weather or not something is working as intended, is the one who created it. All we can do is report our observations. Some of you people need to stop with the "I'm right, you're wrong!" attitude. We all have opinions, throw them out there, fucking own them, & respect the right of others to disagree. That's life. I'm sick of all this discrimination.. carebare, fanboy, hardcore, bandit, survivor, rocket, we're all just people with a million different thoughts and opinions, and feelings. Just because someone has an opinion on one issue...... bah fuckit. It's like an infection spreading through this forum. I think I've been bitten. YOUR ALL WRONG IM RITE!   10. It's a bit hard traveling north without food and water tho. running 15k with a need for food or drink is doable. really. plenty spots to find some. Yeah, but he can't handle the coastal buildings, it's not like running for 10minutes is going to change that. Sure there are easier spots to raid, but you need to get the idea of what to do, before you venture inland. Or at the very least get an axe, matches, knife, & water bottle so you don't have to raid places to eat/drink.

[/quote'] ALL of the things you listed are limitations of the Arma2 game engine and have absolutely nothing to do with DayZ. Why the fuck would you play a mod on a mil sim if you obviously can't stand the clunkyness of the engine? People tell you to get used to it because Arma is what it is, your bitching and complaining isn't going to make them overhaul the entire engine and make it like COD/BF3. You might want to post on their forums about your concerns tho, they are making an Arma3. But, the BEST part of your post was when you said things were obviously not working as intended, right after I said the people saying that are fucking retards who have their heads up their asses, well... not in those words, but you know, something like that.

    Does the noise level actually increase depending on surface? I thought the only thing that changed it was stance and running/walking. I personally don't think the motion level should increase. Why would a person make more motion if they're walking on gravel or on grass?

  15. Welcome to the mod, don't get discouraged, it's ruthlessly tough. Just keep trying. Are you keeping an eye on the icons on the right side, the amount of bars beside the Eye and Ear show you how much noise and motion you're making. Also, holding shift (or double tapping to toggle) will make you walk instead of run, which really reduces your noise/motion.

    The best part of this thread is all the "not working as intended" coming from the "feedbackers". The only people who should be making that statement is the developers. Give feedback, if you think it's too hard, say it. OWN IT! Don't say it's not supposed to be this way. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. This is an alpha, they're going to try things out. (I fully expect a "Rocket even said it's not working as intended!! So everything I think is right!" because god knows we can't talk specifically about anything in these threads, if you like ANY changes your a fanboy and if ANYTHING isn't perfect in the patch, the whole patch is bugged.)

    The Problem With Having A Car In DayZ

    I've found lots of vehicles in DayZ, my opinion, don't get too attached. Once I found a freshly spawned tractor that needed repair but was still functional, I drove it until it ran out of gas and parked it in the trees beside a road and left for a couple hours to get parts and more gas. I returned a few times with tires and crap to fix it up, but had a hard time finding a jerry can, so finally I did and came back(had only been about 2hrs since I first parked it) and it was gone. No biggy, but damn it was taken in under 2hrs in the middle of the night. Another time I found someones Military Off-road truck in the woods, so I drove it up and down the coast line until I slammed it into a trash pile and popped a tire. It was a spectacular failure. It was literally just 200m outside of Cherno on the main highway so I ran down the road and spotted a survivor, tailed him and eventually made contact, no text or voice chat but he didn't kill me, so I lured him back to the truck and then logged off and went to bed, it was gone the next day. I wish (and suggested it) that there were way more vehicles, but far less parts. I don't even bother trying to fix them anymore, it too much effort just to leave it for someone else to steal.     -The guy making this mod has stated that he means it to be an anti-game. Frustrating the player is the goal, there isn't supposed to be any balance. -There are some bugs in the latest patch which is to be expected in an Alpha, the zeds were supposed to not be able to see thru walls, so that is not intentional. If you can't handle their extreme eyesight, wait for the hotfix before you login again. -It's been said that melee isn't already in the game, so adding it isn't as simple as pushing a button. Maybe down the road it'll be added, but then there will be a debate about how zombies can take 9mm rounds to the chest and keep coming, yet a hunting knife is supposed to work? And not get you bitten in the process?
