    Why do people trust so easily in this game

    I don't gain any advantage from killing other players. Beans? Big deal I could have a pack full of them in a half hour. Memories of good times spent with other human beings surviving the apocalypse? Yeah they're a bit more difficulty to come across. One of the things that drew me to DayZ was the idea that there were no teams or groups, you had to work with whoever you ran into. I try to play as if it was happening for real. I could never murder someone for no reason in real life, I'm not going to do it in this game.

    This is already implemented, you do the drugs yourself and your character feels the results. Seriously tho, who's crazy enough to do LSD in a zombie apocalypse?

    I nominate Skalisty Island (big island in SE corner of map) Maybe add some military stuff and make it look like the island was used as a "safe zone" until things got out of hand. Then add an insane amount of zeds around the town & buildings, in the forest, just make it infested with zeds. With it being on an island people wouldn't wander into it by mistake, and those that do would be sent running back to their boat.

    Like the tank traps and barb wire, except rarer. Would be good for lighting up a camp or having a perm cooking spot. I'm thinking it should take up a lot of room in your inventory.

    There's no gas involved in a fire barrel. Unless you suck at starting fires. Wood is burned at a slower rate than in an open fire. So maybe we could make the fire barrel consume wood as it burns, you'd have to put wood piles into it in order to light it. And then make the fire last twice as long as a camp fire. You'd be able to spend time stocking up on wood like you realistically would when you depend on fire for survival.

    Have you ever tried to stuff a helicopters main rotor assembly in your backpack? or engine block, or tank trap, or tractor tire. It works. and yeah I know you can light the barrels, I want them as loot items that can be placed.

    Blood Types - Adds realism and dynamism to DayZ.

    I'd rather see the whole transfusion stuff get tossed. It's amazing enough that we can patch up gunshot wounds and broken bones in the field. Carrying around bags of blood in our backpack is sillyness. Make eating and drinking the only way to get your blood back up and make it capped, so you couldn't just eat eat and eat some more until it was 12000, you'd have to wait until your hunger gets red before you'd get the blood bonus. Or something like that. Drinking should help too. And of course you couldn't just change that and boom it's great, there'd have to be some balancing of blood level bonuses and stuff like that.
  9. Tents in the forest would be nice. Maybe add the ability to clear trees with an axe. Not sure if the engine can do that. I disagree about the global chat. Although I did meet people using it, the experience I had tonight running into two guys and chatting via direct was way better. Like I said in another thread, having global was like running around in the zombie apocalypse texting on your cell phone. You never felt alone, there was always that connection to everyone else. Another problem with global, people who are typing, aren't playing. If you aren't going to concentrate on the game 100%, alt-f4 and chat. If you're lonely in-game, run around until you hear gunfire or see someone. You might die, but eventually you won't. And, it'll be better than running around by yourself, chatting to people who aren't even sharing that experience with you.

    Keep the zeds outside

    So tonight while playing I stumbled upon the one industrial building with the raised walkway and little room. Anyway, I had a tail of infected when I came to the building and unlike most of the buildings they didn't try to come in, instead they ran around the building constantly. This made it very difficult to kill them all, I'd see them run past the door really quick but couldn't get a shot on them. When I would step outside to try and kill them they'd run at me and I'd be forced back inside. This was only about 3 or 4 zeds. So I can only imagine how crappy it would be with a large hoard. Perhaps the zombies should be changed so they just run around buildings until the player comes out. This way you couldn't just get a big line of zeds and then sit in the entrance popping heads as they very slowly walk inside. TL;DR? zeds suck at being in buildings, make them stay outside and run around.

  13. How do you determine if a person is good or bad when they haven't done anything yet? Here's an idea, use your own judgement rather than relying on a game mechanic.
  14. I was semi-following this thread until I saw "taliban" used as an insult. Grow the fuck up dude, my fellow countrymen are currently fighting and dying at the hands of those people. Or is that too serious for you? Should I learn to relax or chill out? It's disrespectful and you're just too ignorant to realize that.
  15. I'm sure your community is great and all, but seriously you'd be really naive to believe what you just posted there. Also, you should be taking this up with BattlEye since they're the ones banning people. And finally, rocket himself has said a few times that picking up hacked gear will not get you banned.

    A Question

    While I agree the graphics don't make a game, but they play a big part in a game like DayZ. It's not really the mechanics of this game that make it fun, it's the setting, the atmosphere that you are thrust into, with sub-par graphics I feel like my experience wouldn't be as immersive. Of course if your PC isn't great, you won't be able to use the high settings anyway, so it's depends on your situation.

    What's funny is that I let Worrom's updater update my DayZ while reading this thread. It was sooooo hard guys!
  20. Removing the chat is one of the best changes I've seen so far. Prior to it being removed I even looked into installing a mod that would remove it client side. I'm one of those people who can't help but read the text in front of my eyes, and it was taking me out of the game too much. It's like running around a zombie apocalypse with you face buried in your cell phone texting, it's just not realistic. If you don't meet a survivor, you should suffer from lack of human contact.

    Zombie damage and framerate

    I've found that I get unplayable frame rate only when I lose the zombies. If they're still after me it's fine, but as soon as I run into a building and they lose me it lags until I kill every zombie that I lost. I haven't tried aggro'ing them again to see if that fixes it because it gets so laggy. But as soon as I kill that last clueless(standing still looking around) zombie my framerate goes back to normal.

    I've done exactly the same with a Makarov in the past, it just requires more picking up of ammo and reloading. My point was that just because you can't sneak past zombies you're still able to GET past them. It's not like you die the second a zombie is aggro'd. And now you can even get away from them so it's even easier. You can run around zombies and all they can do is follow you. That right there makes the game easy in just about every situation. You can run forever in this game! I swear some of this community doesn't understand the direction this mod is headed. People are going to lose their minds if zombies ever run indoors.

    Here's a crazy thought, maybe you should try killing the zombies? Before tonight I hadn't fired a shot in at least 6 days. I still went anywhere, day/night it didn't matter. Never aggro'd anything and still got tons of loot, it was silly. So, I jumped on tonight and tried to do the usual and was so happy when the zeds started aggroing and I finally got to fire the m249 I'd been carrying around for the past week. For a while after that i tried being stealthy, proning where I used to crouch, it worked, was pretty boring and wasn't perfect. So, I started changing up my game. I'd plan an attack on a town. I'd push in slowly trying not to alert the zeds, but once I get close enough I'd just sprint the rest of the way to whatever building I was headed for. Then you simply turn around and cap some heads, or crouch and watch as the zombies stand outside all confused. Some buildings(military tents) confuse the zombies so badly they instantly stop when you enter. I had 1000 rounds for my M249 and ran around Berenzino for the last few hours killing zeds like crazy, I racked up ~300 kills without so much as needing a bandage. Still have 600 rounds left. They're smarter, now they need to be faster than us! Then we'll have something to whine about.
