New vehicles should be added where you can fire your weapons from the passenger areas. Or if possible modify the current vehicles to allow it.

Not just players, but infected too. It's funny when you see infected walking along side a cow and not even acknowledging it's there. How amazing would it be to see a hoard of infected chasing after a pig. Or maybe you could kill a pig with infected on your ass and they would stop to eat it.

Those bells ring 4 times an hour(i think?) infected might have run towards them at one time, but after not finding anything time and time again, they'll just ignore it. Footsteps on the other hand usually lead them to your delicious brains....so they listen for that. -

You'd also have to abuse the respawn mechanic, and the voice chat mechanic. At that point, you're clearly determined to cheat the system so who cares if you have a backpack full of human meat. It doesn't seem like an issue in my eyes. --------------------------- I'd love to see this in-game. Maybe even go to the extent of removing all the other animals (or make them extremely rare)so human is the only reliable source of meat that can be hunted. I've recently watched The Road after rocket mentioned it, and am now reading the book and cannibalism plays a huge part in that story and really plays with your own imagination. People are out there trying to kill you, because you are food and they're staving to death. It's a scary thought. -
Item damage when killing players

I don't like these types of suggestions. What realistically would be broken? NVGs if you hit them in the head, or weapon if their weapon was hit, but then why should a leg shot damage equipment? It's too gamey and not intuitive. Balance PVP? LOL that's no basis for adding this to the game. Maybe if you shoot the guys weapon it falls apart in his hands? That is something I could support. Stop thinking about suggestions to stop/slowdown/balance PVP, they're dumb. (And I'm not even a bandit.) -
How would that be any different than you stopping playing until it's in beta or full release? It comes across like "I don't like the flaws, so nobody else can play it until they're fixed" Obviously Alpha testing isn't for you. A lot of us enjoy the process of testing and the current state the game is in. There's no way a small team of testers on a couple closed servers can possibly be as beneficial to the project as the current player base is.

Hopefully he integrates it in a good way. -Quicker reload time after firing 1000rounds from the weapon. -Quicker bandage time after bandaging 20 other players. -Travel 500km and your stamina lasts a bit longer. As long it's stuff that enhances your abilities rather than enables them. I don't want to have to shoot 10 rabbits before I can gut a goat. -

Your joking right? Do you even have half a clue of how much money DayZ has made them? Its been on the top of the top selling list of steam for at least a month without specials. They would be INSANE to ignore the demands of Dayz when building #3. edit: Note im not getting into the "is it optimised or not" argument because Im not a coder and there arent really any similar games to compare against. I'm not denying all the millions they've made and the millions they will make. But the OPs comments imply BIS couldn't afford to optimize Arma2. Which isn't true because Arma2 already has a big following and sold a lot of copies way before DayZ ever existed. Arma2/3 will be better optimized by DayZ, but not because of the extra money as much as the massive amount of players & servers to test beta patches on. It's not like throwing 10$ million at Arma2 will get it running on par with games like BF3, COD, etc. They're not comparable. Apples to oranges. -

All of your appraisals are pointless, to a person with 2 sets of NVGs and only a Makarov this trade would be worth it. Since I myself have had 2 sets of NVGs before, it's not entirely unheard of. -

GPU = graphics CPU = calculations You can't just put the load on your GPU once your CPU is at its limits. Arma is NOT a very graphics intensive game. It's a code intensive game. It calculates a lot of stuff. Especially playing DayZ mod in situations with lots of zombies. Boot up the editor on the same map, i'm sure you'll get better performance. You can't really compare this game to other mainstream games in terms of performance. This is a game where you setup situations and it runs the simulation. Calculating on the fly everything that is going on. Most games out there are nothing more than scripts playing out. Pile on top of that the massive maps, extensive selection of destroyable objects, vehicles, ballistics, insane view distances, and amazing lighting. If you have a problem with how DayZ hogs your CPU usage, comment on that, don't blame it on Arma2 being unoptimized. -

I ran around Berezino for two days firing my saw like a mad man, in an attempt to clean the streets, sadly, to no avail. But, on the second day I heard a shotgun when I was at the barns, investigating further I saw a couple guys hiding in the small building fighting off infected. I cautiously approached and called out, they ended up being friendly, and had heard me madly firing the saw and were scared shitless of me. We teamed up for a bit and I showed them where some good loot was, but on our way to the military tents I saw another player on our left flank and the next thing we know headshot on my one new friend, bullets landing all around me, zombies running at me, and then I saw someone crawling in the bushes, but wasn't sure who it was so I took off running in the opposite direction of our assailant. Got out of there and never looked back. I had all the best gear, but acted bat-shit crazy, and still nothing happens. Then later, when I have something to lose(friends) I act all cautious and my new friend Justin gets murdered right in front of me. I guess sometimes it pays to be crazy. -
