LOL I expected those replies. It's a full time job reading through these forums finding the valuable feedback. So, Rocket shouldn't be the one that has to do that. Get someone else on the development or moderation team to do it and forward him the good posts/threads.

All Mozart did was compose some music that people happen to like... I'm not saying Rocket is up there with Mozart, but he created something, and people reacted positively towards it. End of story. He didn't create DayZ by mistake, give him some credit.

That's a great idea. Different hive servers based on difficulty setting. How is making weapons perform worse going to increase realism? If you said improve gameplay, or teamwork or something like that, okay, maybe. But, not realism. It's not rocket science, you aim and shoot. This isn't a battlefield or call of duty engine, it's designed to simulate reality. The unrealistic morphine or blood levels in DayZ doesn't corrupt the realistic firearm handling. -

Off topic, but I thought it was weird that in the movie Men In Black, which is clearly American, the agent played by Rip Torn, was called "Zed" by the others, instead of the American "Zee". -

BF2:Project Reality has added the deviation system because BF2 doesn't have the sway system that Arma2 has. Try sprinting around for a bit in DayZ until you're out of breath and then see how easy it is to aim. I disagree with all your points. (except maybe the audio, but thats not going to make pvp more difficult) In real life you can easily kill someone, it's not difficult. You aim your weapon and pull a trigger. Who saw who first is what it comes down to. So, you're basically asking to have DayZ be made unrealistic in the hopes that PVP will decrease or become more difficult? No thanks! -

I searched for this and found this thread. I agree with everything above. I would suggest the zombie spawn distance be equal to the view distance so a player will never see a zombie spawn. -

I've been playing MinZ for the last couple days and while interesting and kind of fun, it's not as good as dayz. People PVP a lot. You might pass 20 people before one decideds to engage you, but when you pass 50+ people an hour, it's annoying as hell. High powered weapons (enchanted iron sword/bow) are all over the place and devistating towards someone with basic weapons. At least in DayZ you can kill someone with a makarov, you're pretty much screwed in MineZ if you get attacked with a better weapon than you have. There are so few places in MineZ to get loot, that people just camp them. So, playing solo means you're rubbing shoulders with other people constantly. 200 players @ 20 loot spawns, it's not a good situation. DayZ is more of an experience. You can lose yourself in the events of the game. MineZ is just a rediculously difficult & overly populated minecraft world, with zombies that run and spawn next to you. -

I really like the ultra-fast infected. It's harder to feel safe when you know they'll coming running at you from long distances, forcing you to think on your feet and react (correctly) fast. -

I'm not suggesting we make it harder for people to group up(with their friends), I'm suggesting we make it practically impossible, so people have no choice. It's not about giving players even more hoops to jump through, it's about removing the hoops entirely. Forcing people to play the role of the lone survivor who has to look for help rather than just meet up with it. That is the setting of this game after all. -

Thanks for the post, you seem to understand exactly what I'm talking about. As far as the random server technical stuff, I agree, it would be daunting in the current setup, to say the least. That idea was just a "proof of concept" for people saying it's impossible to prevent outside groups. I imagine it would only work well in a standalone retail version of DayZ, where they can build the game with this in mind. Your post (in my mind) just reinforces why something like this would really help the apocalypic experience. In your post, you constantly stressed how powerful & dangerous groups of people are. You talked about how boring it'll be for people to play alone. Mentioning how the game is moving towards supporting groups. I'm not saying "Let's make it impossible for outside groups to meet up in DayZ, because I don't have an outside group" I'm saying "Let's make it impossible for outside groups to meet up in DayZ, because it's a more authentic apocalypse" - I'm not saying "Let's make it impossible for outside groups to meet up in DayZ, because they're too powerful" I'm saying "Let's make it impossible for outside groups to meet up in DayZ, because it takes no amount of playing dayz to become powerful" If something like this was added, people would seek out large groups within the game world. There could be mechanics for "teaming" up. You'd be able to keep that connection, but only AFTER you met someone in the game. ......might even go as far as wipe their friends list on every death. -

Having it as a server setting might be okay. It'll further seperate them from us. Meaning, people who want to play this like any other game, and the people who want something different. I rarely encounter the "problems" other people constantly post about, and I suspect that strictly playing on expert servers plays a big part in that. -

Nothing is impossible. This thread wasn't about it being possible, or possible ways to implement it, rather it's about weather or not a situation where people can't easily meet their real life friends in-game would benefit the community. Never the less, I still outlined a simple method of implementing this, to humor the doubters like you. I'm not going to repeat myself, the people who actually read the entire thread don't want to read it all again. But, it's up there if you look hard enough. Thanks for the feedback anyways. Try not to be so insulting and narrow minded, it'll make you look more intelligent. -

I suggest trying out Arma2 if you "only bought it for dayz", it's a great game and with the editor, there are endless possibilities.

I guess I'm saying that socializing should be a part of the game that gets forced on everyone equally. Similar to everyone starting with no weapon even if you have many weapons in real life. People should start with no friends in-game, even if they have lots in real life. And Dr. Toros made a great point that it's harder to group up in-game than it is out of game. That is the reason out-of-game groups are so popular right now. In-game team building tool are needed before we could ever think about doing something as drastic as preventing out-of-game groups. -
