I don't think BIS will secure Arma3 for DayZ. But, what does Arma3 have to do with DayZ, VBS2, or the possible standalone retail version of DayZ? Did Rocket announce that DayZ was going to be ported over to Arma3? Did he say the standalone version would include the open scripting of the military simulators? Did the fact that BIS are continuing to develop for militaries mean DayZ will suffer? You imply a lot in this thread, but you don't back it up with any real information. All I see here... is your gut feelings, and you expect us to take them as fact. -

They could do it as many times as they like if the script wasn't being detected. Think about it, if they used an insta ban systm, the script kids would have a website where they could go and check if their scripts are being detected. If they were, nobody would run them, they would just wait until an undetected script was released. With Battleye logging prohibited scripts without instantly banning the offenders, the script kids have no idea if their scripts are getting them banned or not, until its far too late and everyone is banned. A new undetectable script will come out shortly after, BUT a crap load of script kiddies now have to go out and buy new copies of Arma2:OA. A system of insta banning would be the better choice if battleye had a huge team that could stay on top of every new script that came out. But, that's not the case, so the current system is favorable in my opinion. -

I would rather see mass bannings over insta-banning. If they used an insta ban system, people would just check a site to see if their current script is being detected, and if it is they'd wait for a new version. With the current system you take a risk and eventually get banned for running scripts. More people being banned means more people might not repurchase which means less script kiddies post banning. -

Am I supposed to hold your hand and tell you how good your doing and compliment you about on writing skills, before I can safely speak my mind? Fuck no, I'm just going to come out and voice my dislike for your drawn out complaint. If you can't handle that kind of direct feedback, you'd better power down your device or disconnect from the internet. -

So... you don't see any problems with having multiple threads about the same problem? You don't see how that would make it hard for any real discussions to happen, or how it would make it harder for Rocket & his team to keep up with the discussion pertaining to that topic? My approach is simple and WILL make things better, keep the hacker/cheater/scriptkiddie discussions/complaints all in one place. -

When you end a multi-paragraph story with "and he alt-f4's........" that is your conclusion. That turns your whole story into a complaint. So I posted that I didn't enjoy reading a pretty well written recount of events, only for them to be turned into a comlpaint at the end. If you want to call that trolling, so be it. -

Sigh. He doesn't roll back becasue the changelog didn't just consist of "[Added] Graphical bugs" Think about all the changes he would be losing, and for what? So you can have a more stable alpha version of a mod that's in development? It's not going to happen. Deal with it. -
I'd love a good thread about this subject, with people who actually know what the fuck they're talking about. Sadly everyone who knows anything about this subject seems to steer clear of these threads now because they end up explaining everything to the rest of you idiots, only to have you call them names and say they're wrong. Rocket himself could come in here and explain how the anti-cheat system in arma2 is actually helping, and people would call him a retard and say it does nothing.

Those "bandits" might have lost their friends and families to the hoards of infected, maybe they have nothing left to live for and just want others to suffer as much as they are suffering. Those people make DayZ what it is, I wouldn't want to live in an apocalypse where people didn't senselessly kill others.

Good gear exists in this world. Removing it would just hurt realism and ultimately punish everyone for the actions of a few (who will most likely do the same with lesser weapons, their value is relative to whats available)
