I've gotten kicked with that message about 30 times over the last few days. I doubt it's anything specific to you. I usually restart my game because otherwise I keep getting kicked. I believe it's a bug. Do you really think they were watching a tent near a heavily populated & dangerous area and kicked you because you opened it? Also... the security team/colony isn't the only people who have tents on the server. -

You should have backed out slowly with your gun pointed in his direction. What I would have done was said hello over direct voice and text. But, I also don't carry a firearm 75% of the time. -
Whenever I go to a location it seems like there are always the same amount of zombies spawning. It would be nice if this number had a wide range of randomness. For example, If I go to green mountain, there might be 6 zombies, the one day, and then the next day, none, or maybe 30. It would create uncertainty in players minds, they would have to read the situation and decide how to proceed. The apocalypse shouldn't be routine.

Some areas should be swarming, some areas should have very few zombies. Right now, with the randomization it's too consistent. Why would a zombie know which buildings have the best loot anyway? That shouldn't be the deciding factor on the maximum number of zombies. -

Oh, I was under the impression you didn't want to lose your gear. But, if it's just the point of survival, crawl crawl and crawl some more. Get out your flashlight and attract some players, who knows, they might fix you up. -

Last night I had 3 frags in my pack, just outside elecktro, and I spot a survivor, so I flash my light at him and call out to him, ask him if he wants a weapon, he takes the frags out of my backpack and throws one at me, i run, boom, i keep running, another boom, thinking i was far enough away i turn around and BOOM, i'm down. 5minute timer. About 3 minutes in I notice him dragging me, and then standing over me, and then my bleeding stops. And his skin changes from bandit to regular survivor. And my broken legs are fixed. Finally I wake up and type "Why did you waste the nades I would have given you everything!" cause that's the truth.(I am a supportive player) He says he just wanted to have some fun, and I have to admit it was memorable. So we talk for a bit, I give him my aks74u with like 10 mags. We decide to team up and run back to elecktro, loot around the down town area, hearing a few makarov shots here and there, then after we finish looting the hospital he says over voice 'I see a player....' and then a loud BANG and he's on the ground in the middle of the alley, I tried calling out over voice and text to the murderer, but no response, and he's killing zeds with the AKS and getting closer, so I ran away and didn't look back. -

The way I look at it, you don't lose progress by dying. One chapter come to an end, but another is just beginning. And you can always just crawl to a landmark and die, then run back and loot your corpse. -
I enjoy a lot of things about DayZ. One of the most interesting parts of the game for me is when you need items. When you don't know where your next meal is coming from. And being a "veteran" dayz player, that period of desperation only lasts about 10-20 minutes. So, I've started playing it differently. I don't hold a gun, ever. I might pick up a primary weapon if I come across something special. But, it's never in my hands. The only thing I carry is a flashlight.(Preferably military) If it's dark I run around with a chem light and the flashlight going all the time. I stock up my character with food/drink/medical/tools as quickly as possible. Then, if I haven't been killed yet, I run around the coast flashing my light until I find someone. They either kill me and take my gifts, or I talk to them and offer them everything I have. More often then not if they haven't killed me on sight, they want to team up and I have a really enjoyable time. I do get killed a lot. But, I also interact with a lot of people. Dying to someones bullet, to me, is more exciting than crawling through weeds and hiding in the forest all day. Being someones cannon fodder gives not only their game purpose but also mine. I'm not suicidal, if I see someone becoming hostile, I run and hide. But, if they want to act friendly and then kill me, I don't make it difficult for them. I also make little care packages for people to stumble upon. I run up and down the coastal road, killing any animals I see and dropping a chem light. Then, I gut the animal and throw a can of beans, maybe some matches & wood, soda or water bottle. Sometimes I even cook the meat and put it back on the body. http://i.imgur.com/QbUjL.jpg Try it some time.

I've tried it with weapons, but that gives people a reason to kill me on sight. For example I saw someone running from zombies, so I flashed my light at him and he ran over, then when i started to pull out my gun to kill the zombies he took that as a threat and stopped running to kill me, ignoring the zombies altogether. Funny thing was later on I stumbled onto my body, with his body right next to it, he was in the process of looting it when he died. Thanks for letting me know about the animal bodies, I've run across some dead animals before so I figured they staye around for a while, I'll just put the items on the road with a chem light or fire from now on.

I love my military flashlight. But the one in the game isn't the L shaped ones that go on your shoulder. Another variation should be added. More light sources in general would be good. I would suit up in a glowstick guillie suit if it was available.

I was being sarcastic. Poking fun at the claims of you guys hacking. I was shot because I was lost and ended up really close to the compound without knowing it was in sight. I was off the road with my pistol, which cannot be lowered, so yeah, my fault and I don't blame the sniper for killing me. -

I was trying to raid the colony approaching the downed helicopter for cover, my m1911 and double barrel with 2 slugs woulda pwned the whole place. Too bad the sniper had his hax going. On a serious note, farming is pretty fun... -

Yeah, I understand this would be a deal breaker for some. In the "what do you want to see in standalone" thread I mentioned this being added a another server category. So the teams would still have regular servers for the clan wars but solo players would have their own place too. I'm not trying to exclude people or punish their style of play, I just think the experience would benefit from this as an option. -

If we could have the ability to move the flashlight between primary and secondary, you wouldn't end up in situations where you only have a pistol but are unable to switch to your flashlight. Ideally in the standalone we should be able to duel wield the two, but for the mod, I think this would help.

That colony attracts the hackers like flies to shit. Was happily looting around the colony, nothing happening and snap, broken bone and dead instantly. Along with most of the server. Spawned in electro and followed on of the guards back to the colony to find the whole place blown to hell, I'm not sure if it was the game that killed me, but when I was on the pile of rubble I died with lots of blood left. Spawned just on the coast and ran back a second ago, nobody around, called out, nothing, so I armed myself and hid in a building, with both doors closed and standing still my leg breaks. It's funny because they're working so hard to get themselves banned. -
I played male at first so I could wear the different clothing, but now am playing as a female because I am one at heart.

Where there's a will there's a way. One idea I had was to hide the server names but make it so you can favorite a server and give it your own name, so you could return later, but you couldn't just give the name to all your friends. And then to prevent people from server hopping to find their friends server, just randomize the joining process, maybe the game picks the best 5 populated servers and rotates between only those, so even if you hop and hop, you might never find your friends server. But, that's just my idea, there might be a better way. Games like Halo have this option already, so anything is possible if the players want it. -

I'll be headed to the new colony later tonight, can't wait. Shoot me a PM with the location if you trust me :) Otherwise I might have to install teamspeak, or better yet, I could run around the coast and talk to strangers until word of mouth spreads its location. That would be kind of awesome.
