Is Cherno even a good looting spot?
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to welch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've found so much high end gear on bodies in and around Cherno. I love getting my adrenaline pumping running through Cherno dodging all the m107 rounds fired from ~800m out. Or the idiots with pistols trying to kill you. Or vehicles trolling the streets honking. It's rarely boring. -
DayZ, as a mod is now dead - roll on standalone
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I guess I'm incredibly lucky, I only play on servers with 30+ people and I haven't been killed by a hacker in a couple days. And even when I am, the game is incredibly easy, I can be "geared up" again in 20 minutes. Not saying I enjoy the hackers, but they're going to have to do much worse before I throw in the towel and wait for standalone. If there's fun to be had in this mod, I'll find it. -
I noticed the same attitude in this video... you wanted to entertain the viewer, so you decided to kill the friendly guy. I'm not saying you're style is wrong or bad, it's just not the type of game play video I enjoy watching.

It's the way you acknowledge the viewer, it's like you're performing for us to watch, rather than letting us come along on your adventure. For example in your OMFG...fail video, you announce that you're about to do something stupid at the start. Which made me think you're narrating over prerecorded footage, but you aren't. You're about to do something stupid, for the sake of the video. It's like if a girl who loves makeup was to do makeup tutorials, they'll probably be great. Then other girls see how well received the videos are and try to replicate it. But, if they're coming at it from a "let's make a video everyone will like" mindset rather than a "I love makeup, let's share my passion" mindset, the videos will be less good. Kudos for the effort you're putting forth, but don't get so defensive when criticized.

Now THAT was some good video.... I especially liked how rustled your jimmies are from my comments here. Anyway, going back to my original comments, I just wanted to stress that you're not role playing enough in your videos. You seem detached from whats going on, like you're just going through the motions for the sake of the youtube video you're recording. That might not be the case, but that's how it appeared to me, so I commented about it.(in a trolling type of way, i will admit)

SD Weapon Question
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They don't make a snap when they lodge themselves in your brain...because that snap you hear is the round hitting something solid. -
You care enough to dedicate a video to me.

Anytime a sniper fires and misses, he failed. One shot, one kill.

Sure, let's focus on that technicality...lol

Add a sentence about pointless rants and you're onto something with that warning idea.

You were justifying being a douche bag for the sake of youtube. I don't want to watch videos from someone with that mindset. If you can't handle people criticizing how you play, don't post videos on youtube/forums. I love how you try to turn it around on me, "worry more about why you play the game and you will have a much better experience, trust me." except how the fuck does my experience good or bad, even apply to your video? LOL

If they removed backpacks!
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to MperorM's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How about making primary weapons too big to fit in backpacks, but you can drop the backpack and strap a weapon to your back. If someone carries two weapons, it should be visible. -
Are you playing DayZ to get youtube subscribers?

If they removed backpacks!
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to MperorM's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Add more bags. I want a suitcase that replaces my primary weapon, and a shopping cart to push around too. -
People who murder bandits =/= heroes
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with OP. A hero shouldn't let the bandits push them into being a killer. Just accept the death and respawn. I never "run back and kill them", sometimes I might go back and loot my corpse. If I see them, I don't try to get revenge. The only time I've had to kill bandits was when I was in Elecktro with a group of around 10. These three guys in the red brick building proceeded to kill them all over a 5minute period, leaving me cornered next to all my dead friends. 4 winchester slugs later, I was running away alive. They might push me into killing once in a while, but by no means will any bandit push me into being a killer. -
Being friendly just doesn't seem worth it...
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to daspope's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
They don't contradict each other. He said not to base your choices off what others do. Meaning the OP shouldn't resort to killing people just because most people are unfriendly. That's not ignoring the actions of other players, it's not being influenced by them. -
So, I use hacks, this is WHY
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to manwitdaplan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You use scripts against people who kill you? You teleport to the guy that shot you and use god mode to kill him? How the fuck are you any different than the hackers we all hate? Go fuck yourself, you're ruining dayz! -
Cross hairs- weapons with large scopes suddenly become effective in close quarters. Nametags- Makes being stealthy pointless, and removes all doubt about who is who. Location names- (name of the region upon logging in) Makes it too easy to identify where exactly you are, the computer is never wrong. Kill messages- Fire some bullets, wait for kill message, rinse and repeat. Waypoints- Don't know where 'X' is? Set a waypoint. Got lost? Set a waypoint. Map markers- (player icon) GPS without a GPS? What's the point of finding a GPS then? I don't think any of the above fits in with the spirit of DayZ. Of course they can (mostly) be disabled by a server admin. But, when you give people the option of turning something on it's part of the game. Inevitably someone who doesn't like the options is going to be forced to play with them. Perhaps LOTS of people don't like these options, but when the populated servers mostly have the same options, we're left with no choice. I feel like all these bells and whistles are turning a hardcore milsim mod into a mainstream casual videogame. Am I the only one feeling this way? How do people justify those "easy mode" options?

Bells and whistles
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Including tents I'd estimate I've seen over a hundred of both. Fucking hacks and dupes. -
Bells and whistles
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love how people automatically default to the "it's in the game, deal with it" attitude when you ask about stuff like this. Like I'm personally attacking their style of play. This is a forum for an alpha mod, we should be discussing the game and the ways it should or shouldn't be changed. If you enjoy all those options, WHY do you enjoy them? Perhaps your responses will help me enjoy them more? Perhaps I'm missing out on some interesting aspects of those features I always shy away from. -
TL;DR version... -He hasn't played in 4 weeks. -He's demanding they reassure him everything is going to be okay, or else they have to shut down the mod until the bugs are fixed. -He's mad cause people don't like listening to rants about bugs/hackers constantly. /thread

Bells and whistles
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My post wasn't about my own personal gaming experience. I have no problems finding servers that I can enjoy. I raised the question because the majority seem to prefer all these options to be on. Most of the populated servers are regular or recruit. It doesn't take that long to get the hang of this game, so it's obvious that a lot of people want DayZ to be a more casual game than I do. I'm curious why they want such a different game. Rocket has always painted such a hardcore picture for DayZ, I didn't expect the majority of players to want HUD crosshairs, for example. -
Bells and whistles

I think the ratio is pretty good actually. I've found exactly 1 m107 and 0 as50s from actual loot spawns. But, I can't count the amount of ak and m4 variants I've seen. It's all the hacking, duping & infinite ammo glitches that make them seem common.
