    Perhaps you aren't reading my first post closely enough to understand. You would only hear someone if you stood right next to them in the game. If you walked away from them at all, you wouldn't hear it anymore. So, unless you like to glue yourself to the back of someone who's got a party going on at their house, I don't really see the issue with hearing a few background noises from time to time when you're RIGHT NEXT to someone. As for the bug, yeah it sucked, but I don't think we should lose faith in the entire in-game chat system because of it. It was a bug, it got fixed promptly.

    Another thing this would do is force teamspeakers to use direct chat when in proximity to each other, otherwise there'd be an echo, which is realistic, you don't sit beside someone in real life and talk on a radio.

    Right... I'm not taking that away from them, this would just make it slightly more realistic. If you think of 3rd party software as a walkie talkie for them to chat with their group, then if they've got me held hostage 2ft in front of them, I should be able to hear what they're saying into the walkie talkie.

    I'm saying for a legit server switch you wouldn't notice, and even when you push it there would be a short delay with a warning message telling you not to hop any more for a while. But, If you continued, the punishments would get longer and longer. Maybe even force the player to be spawned in the world for the duration of the delay. Players hopping in high value loot areas would risk death while wasting their time. While honest players switch servers in more secure areas, so even if you get a short warning or have to take a punishment one time, it's not so risky.

    I'd rather see it go the other way and not even show the player list. Just show the number of players online. Names are something you should have to ask for. There's already enough customization to recognize people. I'd rather they add a face editor than tarnish the clean HUD dayz is going for with text names.
  10. You can be walking along and step over a fence and start breathing heavy. I like the system, but I think it needs to be nerfed a bit.

    Waiting a little bit when changing servers isn't such a big deal, unless you want to hop constantly.

    They know about the bug already. Rocket tweeted about it. On the bright side, maybe people will hold you up for your gear more.

    Waiting for stamina & carry wight systems to be added before I even think about discussing this stuff. Gotta learn to walk before we can run.

    Sorry if this has been mentioned but Rocket was talking about it in one of the streams, he said he wanted to add a system that imposes a delay when you server hop. So, if you change servers you won't notice much, but if you keep hopping from one to another it'll add a time delay exponentially. So if you hop 3 servers in 5minutes it might make you wait 5minutes, but if you hop another one it'll bump the time up to 10minutes. (just throwing out numbers here, nothing is set)

    Is it slow for anyone else? Since the second patch it takes me a good minute for items I've dropped to appear on the ground.

    Thanks for the tip. Just had some dude demand I give him a drink, and I put it on the ground but he got impatient waiting for it to show up, and demanded all my gear instead. :)

    The maps not finished.

    I went exploring up in those areas, left a town with a big backpack stuffed with food & drink, ended up at some soccer field and garage complex with only one gulp of water and a couple cans of food left.

    It would be nice if they disabled alt-tabbing with the left alt, but kept the right one working. That is all.

    Did you not even read the post you quoted? "but kept the right one working." I didn't think it needed a long detailed explanation. But, since people like you are having difficulty with the concept, I'll explain it once again. The default controls for DayZ have you pressing [left alt] and [tab] a lot. Inevitably(If you use freelook[alt]) you're going to hit both at the same time by accident, which pulls you out of the game. It's not the end of the world, but it's still something that, if it could be fixed, it would improve standalone. I'm not looking to block anyone from alt-tabbing. I said keep the [right alt] working so we can still [right alt]-[tab] using that button. If that's not enough for people, make it an option in the menu.

    Okay, just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one. It's kind of a pain in the ass since I love those containers & med kits so much. Hope it gets fixed soon.

    What have you been eating? I'm not sure if it really matters, but I found when I was eating raw rice or cereal it would make me thirsty really quickly. Which makes sense since they're both supposed to be eaten wet not dry.

    You might just be leaving before they appear. I thought my stuff was disappearing too, but then I sat there and waited long enough for it to appear.

    From what I've read the Americans went to 3 round burst because guys in Vietnam were firing off all their ammo like crazy and hitting nothing. Three round burst doesn't lend itself to the spray and pray technique like full auto does.

    But if it's as bad as you all say, loot won't respawn at Balota because it will have players near it.
