    Blurry Graphics Glitch After Combat?

I understand. But that is a known bug, opening video settings and closing it will remove post processing effects. That has been known since release. So there's no point in focusing on that fact like it's some kind of important evidence. I think the fact that he has post processing disabled but still sees blur is interesting and might be the key to figuring it out. Or did they ninja in a forced post processing change last patch?

    Blurry Graphics Glitch After Combat?

From what I've read, the blur from low health disappears when you go into video options. So, I don't think the fact that the blur in this case disappears when doing the same means anything noteworthy. Blur is a post processing effect, opening the options removes those, that tells us nothing about what causes this "bug".
  3. Totally a hypothetical discussion here. I don't want to turn DayZ into this, I'm just curious how people would feel about a survival game like DayZ that had real permadeath. For example, a survival game like DayZ, free to play for argument sake. Except when you died, your account gets deleted. Maybe have an invitation system for the game, like beta invites, so people would have to apply and wait to be accepted. This way people can't just create a new account every death and instantly get back in. They could eventually get back in, but it wouldn't be quick or easy. Would you be willing to play a game like this and risk not being able to play if you died?

    what if?

What if Sergey Titov replaces Dean Hall?

Would you play a game with real permadeath?

You just described DayZ for a new player.... lol

Would you play a game with real permadeath?

Thanks for the replies. I guess my own preference wouldn't even be true permadeath, I would be willing to go without playing for the sake of the game. A game with virtual populations or something. The next one only opens up when the population of the first gets low. Kind of like a poker tournament where you have to sign up before it starts, but once it starts, no more signups until it's over. I think that a consequence would really throw a wrench in the players mindset while playing. Are you really going to kill someone and risk being killed yourself? Wouldn't it be hard to watch someone die knowing they're done for good? Obviously the game would have to be developed with this in mind. We couldn't just throw this into DayZ and expect it to work. You would have to be able to familiarize yourself with the game world and controls in a safe environment and people would have to be made more resilient, among many other things. But, I think I would be willing to play a game with some form of perma-death, maybe even pay for the privilege.
  7. He doesn't just want to blame the game, he wants the game to change to suit him.

Forced headbob for the sake of realism?

In real life you can bob your head around a whole bunch and still keep your eyes focused on something. In video games it feels like my eyes are locked straight ahead and I when my head bobs, so do my eyes. For the sake of realism, they should remove it.
  9. Yeah, we were talking amongst ourselves, and then you suggested we should be demanding fixes in this thread.

Admins Shutting Servers Down When They Get Killed

Weather or not it actually works doesn't even matter. When admins are restarting their server with the intention of cheating death or preventing a player from looting their corpse, that's clearly admin abuse. It's like a cheater using cheats that don't work, they're still trying to cheat.
  11. The developers monitor the feedback tracker. They don't respond to the loudest screams on the discussion forum(thank god). This forum is mainly for the players to talk amongst themselves.

Admins Shutting Servers Down When They Get Killed

I couldn't bother reading past the third page, so much nonsense justifying this obvious case of admin abuse, it makes me sick how casual some peoples attitudes are towards this stuff. OP keep up the fight, you server hopping murdering scumbag. ;)
  13. We're players.... not developers. We can not fix what's broken.
  14. Nope. If I thought I was the first person to discover this bug, I would have gone to the bug tracker and posted it there. But, since I had already heard a lot of complaining about it, I didn't feel like that was needed. Reporting bugs in the right area is great, nobody will criticize you for doing that. But coming to the discussion forums and asking for fall damage to be removed because of ladder bugs, is just silly. We all have to 'just live with the bugs', as testers all we can do is report them and wait for the developers to get around to fixing them. Dying over and over to a bug is not going to get them fixed any faster.
  15. I fell off the ladder in the apartment building, broke my legs, but luckily I had a splint with me. Rather than come to the forums and bitch about fall damage and broken ladders, I did the logical thing and simply avoided that ladder. I haven't even tried to climb it since that incident. Every other ladder in the game I've come across has given me no problems. It's amazing that you've died 10 times to a buggy ladder, but you keep going back expecting the results to be different.

Sun Tzu - The Art of DayZ ?!?!

Sun Tzu is haunting me in DayZ? Maybe when I find another copy of his book it'll stop.

Sun Tzu - The Art of DayZ ?!?!

I usually just find a nice grassy field to sit down and read in. It almost makes you forget about the horrors in the world. I also tend to look down while seated just enough so that the horizon is above the book, that way I can keep an eye on my surroundings while reading.

WHy do we need Server restarts?

Agreed, server restarts have ruined too many of my experiences.
  19. I keep crashing to desktop in one of the new towns north of the NE airfield. Edit: nevermind, it finally let me play without crashing.

New Update Rolling out on experimental 0.36.115535

Ignore the crosshair, it's not for aiming, it's for picking up items and opening doors.

    Walking is exhausting...

I've found it depends on whats in your hands also. Walking around with a weapon out exhausts you quickly.

So I finally starved to death

True, the north might be looted more than on normal servers. But, it being experimental is even more reason to leave Berezino, that place is a spawn point.

    Simple Incentive to Live

It might be true for you, but I still value my life even when I have nothing. I value my life seconds after spawning. I view this "problem" of not valuing ones life, as your own personal problem. It has nothing to do with the game. I don't think we need to give incentive to not be suicidal. People should value their life because it means they continue to live. Not for some stat, or some reward. I've lived some amazing lives that lasted less than an hour. I've also survived for weeks in boredom. It's not always about how long you live, it's about the life you live.
