  1. I'm not hating on your wanting to play on a private hive. But, your using a bunch of faults of the MOD to rationalize abandoning the hive in the standalone, when none of those things you mentioned even apply to the standalone. -Lack of hackers: I haven't seen any in standalone. I saw tons in the mod, everyone did. -Punishment for combat logging: Nothing has been done yet to combat this, at least give them a chance to fail at it before jumping ship. -No thermals, nvgs, as50, etc: There is none of this in the standalone, does not apply. -Third party anti-cheat: The whole engine architecture has been changed to make cheating WAY less of a problem in standalone. It's no longer required that we run a script-versus-script anti-cheat system, because they'll just fix the engine when it needs it. Which couldn't be done in the MOD version. -Loot spawns & new areas: Plenty of new areas and plans for even more have been added to the standalone. Like I said, I'm not hating on your wanting to play how you want. I just think we need to be realistic on what exactly private hives will bring to the game. Because most of the advantages they offered in the MOD simply don't apply anymore.

    Would you like to see all the servers on the hive be held to the same standard settings? Should servers be allowed to run custom settings/administration like.. 24/7 day, no pvp, and all that other stuff we're going to see?

    Far too many populated 24/7 day and "Friendly" servers. It's turning into the MOD. Give a man an option and he'll take an advantage.

    Zombies should have MUCH more HP than humans

    A few punches to the head and an uninfected human player is down for the count. The zombies fall down, but they get right back up again. In a way they're already stronger than humans.

    Need some help getting "healthy"

    Does it say healing in your inventory? It sounds like you need some saline to restore your blood. You need full blood before your blurry vision will start to fix itself. Eating/drinking will restore blood, but it takes a long time if you're low. Also, might try another server and see if that fixes anything. I wasn't healing up correctly the other day and when I switched servers it instantly popped up the 'healing' status.
  8. Servers without battleye enabled should be getting blacklisted from the hive. If they want cheaters, they shouldn't be able to bring their characters into our protected servers.

    Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

    I'm a little disappointed the "removal" thread was locked because some people couldn't discuss that topic in a civilized manner. It sets a bad example for some people, it shows them that if they put up enough of a fuss and troll enough people into getting pissed off at them, they can get the whole discussion closed. I'm inclined to think that was part of their objective by constantly posting in that thread while having nothing new to add, and never finishing the discussions they start. I don't think moving the discussion over to this one was the right thing to do, because this discussion has nothing for me.(or others pushing for tpv removal.) Even if third person is fixed, I'm still not using it. So, it doesn't matter to me how it gets fixed.

    What random events would you like to see?

    I always wanted to see way more randomization in the zombie placement. Instead of there always being roughly the same amount of zombies everywhere, it should be very random. The same with loot spawns, you should have a random chance of finding a lot more, or maybe nothing. Consistently finding loot makes it less special.

    It is disappointing seeing Hicks say it will never happen. Rocket always left some glimmer of hope when he responded to that question. I agree with KOS, they've missed a great opportunity here. I don't like hearing a developer say it's not up to them to force the definition of DayZ. He even said first person is the better experience. His tweet that triggered the question about removing it.. "Just finished an amazing 3 hour round of DayZ on a 3PP:OFF server. In my opinion, players using 3PP rob themselves of part of the experience"

    I would also love to see a wide variety of GPSs be added to the game. You'd have the standard dashboard type that are designed for cars. different levels of handheld GPS units for backpacking, some with full color maps, some with nothing but coordinates, way points and plotting. Maybe even an ultra rare GPS watch.

    I would like to see the current maps get removed or made rare military loot. The map depicted in your inventory currently should be something like this, instead of the military type map we have now that can zoom in and see houses and treelines and tons of elevation. Maybe even add maps of the surrounding area, only a small part would be relevant to Chernarus. Or maps of other regions to throw some people off. Some naval charts and maps in the ship/port buildings. It would be really cool if some cities or regions could get in-game map signs. For example, hanging on the wall of a fire station, or in the city center there could be a big map of that city and its' surrounding area. Something the player could look at and get an idea of the city layout, but it's too big to walk away with. Maybe even add the ability to pin notes to it for others to read.

    To be truly third person only, they would have to give people with scopes increased 3rd person zoom and better 3d crosshairs for acog/aimpoints. Who's asking for that? Nobody wants to be locked into third person only. Even the most dedicated third person advocates will still use first person sometimes. It just seems absurd when talking about dayz.

  20. People with global bans in arma2 are getting banned in standalone too? Really!?! That would be awesome. Or is it people who still have cheating software on their computer running standalone and getting banned? Either way, delicious tears.

    Why would they remove first person? There are literally ZERO arguments for doing that. Not to mention that would essentially break the game. How can you even look down a scope without being in first person?

    The only thing I can say I instantly dislike about the system from 2017 is the angles. You can be looking out into an open area, but if a player is situated just right behind a near pole, you can see that area as open ground, but your line of sight makes him invisible. It might be difficult for you to tell what exactly your eyes can see without going into first, causing people to move back and forth in order to make sure there's nobody hiding behind poles. In first person view, you can clearly see that a pole is blocking your view of that spot. It's nothing huge mind you. Just something I observed watching the video.

    I could easily go through the trouble of adding up the number of players currently playing the game and then compare that to 800,000 and use that to dispute your claim that the low amount of first person servers accurately represents the whole dayz population. But, it's pointless, because you wouldn't respect that. The same way I don't respect your dismissal of 5000 responses to a poll.

    I see you're still not responding to why we should consider the low numbers of first person server as a good indicator of what people think of 3rd being removed. You just fall back on telling me it's never going to be removed. It's like you're afraid to have the discussion I want to have. Like you're scared that if you admit a lot of people want it removed, it'll happen within the hour or something. Oh well, enjoy your ignorance & keep telling us it'll never happen.
