    Finally after 50 hours....

    I had a similar experience with the MOD when it first came out. I didn't die, but the friends I had finally met, did. I had searched for days to find friendly players and when I finally did, they were killed less than 5 minutes later by bandits. It's one of my most memorable experiences in this game. The loss I felt, the anger I felt, the emotion a video game could make me feel. I think a key part of enjoying DayZ is accepting death. Realizing that sometimes you have to put yourself at risk in order to make things happen. If you live in a padded room all your life you'll never feel anything. Sometimes falling down and getting back up again can be an amazing experience. Something you'll remember forever, even if it hurts at the time.

    What does blurry vision mean?

    If your inventory screen doesn't say "Healthy" and your screen is blurry, you're low on health. Clicking video, or turning off post processing is just hiding the indicator, you're still low on health, you just don't see it.

    They use padded gloves in the UFC and still manage to KO in one punch. Bare fist hits a lot harder than gloves.

    Who says 1st person players wouldn't play on a third person servers if third person was magically fixed? At that point it wouldn't matter what view the player uses because there would be no advantage to using third person. That is the reason us 1st person players care about third person. We might join different servers, but we both share this game, so finding a way for all of us to play together is desirable.

    Some days I just can't get over how hardcore 1pp makes us. If the navy seals were recruiting, they'd totally ignore the 3pp players and just focus on us 1pp players. We're a higher level of being, a superior race of player. 3pp players are just jelly they aren't playing the game the way it was meant to be played. They're jelly they can't be hardcore because of their magical parascope. I figured I'd give you the type of post you guys are always ranting on about.
  6. It was hicks that said that he thought 3pp were missing out. Also, its worth noting that the trailer for dayz never features any parts in 3pp, but has lots of scenes from the 1pp.

    114008 is the version number. Of course they'll mostly be the latest version. I agree, it sucks that 24/7 daylight is accepted on the hive.

    How can you look at the number of 3rd person servers and determine how those players feel about the view they're using? People playing on a view doesn't mean they are 100% happy with that view. Stop implying otherwise, there are plenty of posts in this thread that prove you wrong.

    I think when somebody starts bleeding it should be like a dinner bell for the zombies around to come running. I also think that when a player goes down(unconscious or dead) the zombies should swarm the body and slowly tear them apart. Either destroying the gear or leaving it on the ground badly damaged. Another nice addition would be clothing becoming soaked in blood would attract nearby zombies until you can find some water and wash off the blood.

    I think it comes from real predators in nature that smell the blood and come after it. Animals like sharks and bears are typically thought to come charging with bloodlust when you start bleeding.

    I said the stuff would get damaged or destroyed because the devs implemented the 10 minute body despawning to prevent people from going back for their gear. If we added a mechanic where zombies ate the bodies but dropped the loot, people would run back. If it was damaged, ruined, or destroyed, they would be less likely to run back, but other people might find a mutilated corpse with ruined gear around it and feel a chill run up their spine or something. I like the idea of finding evidence of humans being there, even if that's a pool of blood with some ruined items.

    Because they're fictional zombies. I didn't say hundreds of meters tho, that would be pushing it. I'm thinking more like 20m. Blood isn't the only reason they would come running. Bleeding is a result of an injury which would probably cause you to scream in pain, also other zombies would probably make noises that alert the rest, causing a feeding frenzy. Along with the smell of blood.

    I'd love to see horses, but seeing multiple GTA games with no horses, after R* made the masterpiece that is red dead redemption, I have lowered my expectations when it comes to horses.

    Would have to limit the characters so people don't write a story on a can of beans. Otherwise I like it.

    10 min body despawn?

    I would rather see a mechanic that deletes your own dead body when you get within 50m of it. 10 minutes is short enough that someone would feel rushed to get their loot in some situations. Also, the fact that you never really know when someone has died, so you might spend 10 minutes cautiously approaching only to see his body disappear. But, it's good they're addressing the run back to your corpse issue.

    They didn't remove anything. All the weapons are being custom made for DayZ standalone.
