yeah I had the moaning thing the other day my character kept moaning but there was no status effect message. Drove me crazy Finally he stopped moaning after I logged back in -

Whats the best way to lose zombies that are running after you? Run far away in a straight line? Run in circles? Hide in a house?

Are the signs in the game with distance to each town in miles, or in kilometers? Here it says: "Stary Sobor is located 2 miles west of Novy Sobor" But am thinking this is a mistake since the game takes place in Europe and they use the metric system there?

welcome to the game :) 1) There is no map in the game, but you can find some (usually in cars). You can also find maps online (if you want to "cheat"). Best is to just play and learn the terrain 2) Servers with more ppl in them are usually day so choose those 3) I like the firefighter axe 4) I think morphine or rope but usually when I take fall damage and cant walk I dont have those, so I'd rather die :) Also be sure to check this guide to identify various symptoms: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159492-great-guide-for-new-players-tells-you-what-each-symptom-means-and-how-to-cure/ 5) max is 40 but will probably increase in the future as devs optimize

Good tip When my character first spawns I take off the shirt and make it into rags for emergency -

the description there is just the one from in the game Not sure if it has any actual effects? maybe it decreases your chance to get sick?

another thing that I wanted to add based on another post I just saw: I think if you drink water from a pond you can become sick if possible, use soda cans and water pumps, those are safer of course if you dont have a choice then drink from ponds and hope to find charcoal tablets -

well I see them in random houses a lot, but anyway according to this wiki page: DayZ Standalone: Construction Site The Construction Site in Berezino has a good chance of spawning them. I think actually I was there the other day and there were like three backpacks there lol

Where do those inectors spawn? I've never found one -
Can someone clarify these terms I've been hearing in the forums: Public/Private Servers (when I look at the server list, which ones are private and which are public? and whats the difference?) Hives/Subhives/sub-private hives (have no idea what these are?)

keeping 3rd person view servers is good for new players until they familiarize with the game on the other hand, maybe its better to just have them jump into the cold water immediately
