I'm pretty sure that Dean is going to make cars and vehicles in general pretty rare for some reason (I guess that's because he likes hiking so much) so how about adding some "smaller vehicles"? -Skateboards -Rollerskates -Kick scooters -Bicycles (obviously) All those could successfully shorten the travel time and be fairly common without disrupting game's survival concept.

It's not a matter of being lazy. Not everyone has 5 hours to spend on the game. Let them add bicycles and you can continue running, no problem with that.

I could not only handcuff you and feed you rotten bananas but also pee down your throat. How does that not add anything to the game? I think it's marvelous.

I like the "radius check" but it still doesn't fix the problem of shooting someone at long ranges like 800m. If you miss then the timer would need to be like 3 minutes so you can get to him before he logs out.

Then what belongs in a post apoc game? M4s and DPM clothing? Please. Yeah I'm sure the roads would fall apart from all the cars that are no longer cruising on them. It's not like there was a war for roads to be in bad shape. Most of the buildings are still standing as well. As long as stupid shit like 3pp and M4s in post soviet country is in the game, everyone can make any suggestion they like cause I doubt it that will be anymore ridiculous than what's already in the game. Ged aut of ma tread cracka!

When I alt+tab to see the actual map I'm also forced to remain static. Leads to great situations where I alt+tab back and I'm back on the coast.

If hardcover was just few meters from them as you say, they could just take the cover and then combat log meaning any countdown timer wouldn't stop them.

Here's why: BI was smart enough to allow heavy modding of their engine thus they got Dean and his DayZ. After that it was obvious they are just naturally going to stick with their own engine. It may be shitty but BI has people who know this engine like a back of their hand so there would be no point in starting from scratch.
