Yeah, clipping through walls in Dayz MOD and Standalone make those body parts officially fair game!

It really is Darwinian isn't it?

M4 will penetrate the floors in jails and control towers. I found that out when a person spawned under me in the jail at NEAF and they unloaded 10 or 20 rounds through the floor. I didn't say anything! He spawned out.
-
Some spots I never looked! Nice job! I don't have a screen shot but will get one, but the buildings with three first floor doors and the piano in the main room will spawn them on the shelves opposite the piano.

160 hours of play isn't really a noob. He brings up a valid point, even if he does sound a bit whiny.

Of course the issue with that is most fresh spawn are psychos. They see a geared guy and try to punch you to steal your gun. Not worth hunting for spawn killers when the spawn are nothing but ungrateful wretches! But seriously, if you aren't capable of getting off the coast, the game may not be for you. But if you have 160 hours in, then you are perhaps being hyperbolic to prove a point. The community right now does suck a bit, but it is mostly because after getting geared, your options are limited. There aren't enough things to do, so you go looking for trouble (or to be a hero) and do that as long as you can, then start the whole thing over again. Once we get zombies and more cars, survival elements, etc, things will settle out a bit.

I noticed that last night. But I have also noticed, or thought I noticed, the moon phases affect brightness too. Or am I imagining things?

What do you do when in a mexican stand off

God, Arnold was JACKED! I generally talk, feeling them out, but if I doubt their sincerity, I will shot first and hope I survive. -
10 minute is not enough to loot dead bodies you put down
PhillyT replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Since this is just an experimental situation, I would assume that if ten minutes does turn out to be too short, they will change it. I would like to see 20 minutes. Still time to loot, but quick enough to keep things tidy. -
Do we have confirmation that bullets won't shoot? In my m4, I unloaded a pristine mag and put ruined bullets in and it shot fine.

I say take Berenzino back. I kill the bad spawns and help the good ones on their way.

Cherno has been quiet the past couple days.
PhillyT replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, with all but one spawn on the east, cherno isn't popular. If you die, you run forever to reach your body. -
So my buddy and I are making our way through Berenzino. We are both fully geared and looking to hit the grocery stores before making our way through Dolina and Palona before moving to Elektro. We are making our way down the main road near the lumber yard when we see an axe armed player. We raise our guns, ordering him to the ground (we don't KOS). He puts his hands up but doesn't go down. He then says: "There is a player behind you." Like rubes, we both turn, but sure enough, there is a player watching the whole thing about 30 feet away. I order him to the ground without realizing that my buddy also was looking at him... leaving the first guy alone. The second player breaks into a run and flees north. We both shoot and kill him. The first guy pulls his axe and thumps my partner. I give chase since he then ran. My buddy makes the crucial mistake of bandaging immediately. While I pursued him around one of the houses in the downtown but he lost me, looped around and killed my buddy. I managed to put three M4 rounds into him before he disappeared into the houses. My buddy respawned while I took position to watch his body while also looking for his killer. Five minutes passed before he was back in my area. While trying to figure out where he was, the killer suddenly appeared and in a moment of hesitation, I though for a second it was my friend, he opened up on me with my friends M4. He struck me several times and I returned fire but I feel unconsious. I was extremely upset with how poorly we had handled the entire affair as I respawned in Solychnia and sprinted north. My buddy, luckily, found my body and geared off my stuff but my killer was nowhere to be found. There were several dead men, only two of whom we had killed (the one who ran and another armed player who had fired on us). I had seen two other players while looking for the killer and let both move on with a warning about shooters in the area. I arrived on the scene and geared off my dead friends body. Moving around the building, I found a dead man where he had shot me from. We had fortunately killed each other apparently! From his position, I think he bleed out moments after killing me! It explained why he didn't loot my body after killing me! So we were pretty much the worst duo, falling for the old "Look behind you" gag, though lucky enough to get our gear back with only a few ruined magazines for our trouble. Just another day in Berenzino.

Good point. I have noticed bambis are FAR more aggressive than usual. Case in point, we stopped at the construction site in Berenzino after the incident. I was sorting my gear on the third floor when a bambi started punching me in the head. I shot him with my M4, but was quite pissed off at that point. I was really off my game today!

I just want to be able to pick apples off those damn trees!

How do you protect yourself against betrayal?
PhillyT replied to jimmyjoerocks's topic in General Discussion
I rarely friend anyone unless I have a buddy I am running with. In that case, one of us always keeps a gun on the guy. -
I had what could have been a hack. My buddy and I were east of Elektro. We were walking when something strange happened. It could have been a hack I guess, but at the same time, it may have been a glitch. I was trying to move gear before we climbed Sniper Hill when I accidentally tried to put a protective case in another (both were full). I suddenly shot back 50 feet and thirty feet in the air. I then plummeted and died. My buddy had moved too but stayed on the ground. He suddenly began talking to a new spawn who was right near him when suddenly he too appeared all the way on the far north side of the map at the very edge. The server then was really glitchy with lots of rubber banding and the strange glitch where you rubber band and the camera is frozen where all you can do is crash the game to desktop. Could have been a hack maybe? Or just a glitch. Seems glitchy more than a hack given the crazy crashes and rubber banding that the server did for the twenty minutes after when I was trying to get back to my body.

I was raiding a pub, picking up a first aid kit, when a man walked through the closed door. IN a panic I emptied a 30 round mag into him. He chuckled and said "whoops." It was total panic and he might have been friendly, but you react in DayZ.

The survivors in game are artificially unobservant, stiff, and nonfuctional. The 3pp mitigates that, giving you some of the peeking effects you would have in real life.
-
The Solychnia, Nichnoya, Berenzino corridor is pretty active due ot the current spawn patterns.
-
I hadn't thought so. I figured it was periodic or from a server issue not transitioning to other servers.
-
Is server choice what is resulting in character resets?

Most important bug for me, must have been fixed before they add more zeds/ walker
PhillyT replied to BlindOldMan's topic in General Discussion
I don't think pain is the limiting factor on a persons ability to break down a door. Actually taking a door down with your hands, especially an outward opening door from the outside, requires intelligence, tools, and a strategy. A zombie isn't going to know to take a running start or to work at a weak spot. If you have zombies doing that, then you need to change a whole lot about how their AI functions in the open fields and such as well. -
Jackfrags cracks me up. He is hilarious. He and Frankie together are a real trip. Their most recent adventures in ARMA 3: Alito MOD are some of the best they have ever done.

people need to understand that DayZ is Zombie apocalypse GAME and not PVP deathmatch
PhillyT replied to gamer222's topic in General Discussion
Come on now Zolli, zombies have been a thing since the 50's as a genre, made even more so during the 60's. I am in my mid thirties. I loved the Romero films of the 80's and the walking dead has simply expanded the concept to a serialized television show. It all plays off similar tropes. DayZ brings that into an open world setting of multiplay. The zombies are ALWAYS secondary to the human element and interaction and they do a good job of showing that in Dayz.
