Interesting, I wonder what the value would be over the Mosin. Speed of followup shot I suppose.

What server and when?

How about the sun rises in the east and sets in the west
PhillyT replied to Mullucka's topic in General Discussion
Very often the sun is in the south because it is Northern Hemisphere and in the fall, so it works. -
Yeah, complaining on a forum will get you your cash back. Read the terms of use on Steam. You are out of luck son.

Are people opting to play SA more than the mod?
PhillyT replied to kragz's topic in General Discussion
I am looking forward to vehicles. It is very annoying to run everywhere, especially since your character never gets tired. But if he got tired, then the game would be annoying since it takes forever to get anywhere! -
AK47 is the cooler, better weapon.

YEah, I don't know about the insult thing, but what "truth" needs to be realized?

Without question, I shot every single person who wears a payday mask. 100% of the time they are douchebags. Who else wears those stupid things?

So I am just tired of the M4. IT is a fine gun, especially since it is the only one that is good at everything (but not really great). I think it is just boring. I have taken to using the Mosin (despite not being a fantastic shot) and the sawed off shotgun. I have had great luck with the shotguns and really like the fact that they are pure death inside of 50 yards. I also lug my .357 because there are hundreds of rounds pretty much everywhere you could care to look! Anyone else finding themselves looking for an alternative setup? I am looking forward to the SKS just for the change of pace!

I think of my own range time and the size of a man at 100 yards checking their targets. I picture how big that person is and adjust my distance from that mental picture.
-
One thing, I think that is a .308 (7.62/51-54mm) not a 7.62/39. 5.56 and AK rounds are roughly the same length.

No I was referring to players. I don't shoot zombies unless it is for fun or I am about to drop the ammo. Run 20+ shots through the sawed off, it will kill pretty much anyone with two barrels at 10m, most people out to 25m, and can at times kill at 50m with both barrels. I often reload to finish at that range, but it is a great weapon for a bag gun.

I have seen a couple servers like that. I play on Zombz.net and Trainwreckers. Both are cool and I like having a home server setup.

Black, no pants, red shirt, mortal combat, PoS and one shot K.O.?

I agree, awesome! -
Just keep using it. It isn't super consistent. First time I used it I shot a zombie at Green Mountain from 10 feet and she rained blood out of 5 spots but kept coming. I ditched it and swore off it. Now I really enjoy it. I used one because I had no choice as a new spawn and found it very effective from 0 - 25 yards, though admittedly, out to 50 it might require a reload. But honestly, the shotguns are the kind of gun you jump out of cover with, dump both rounds, and jump back in. I burnt off 28 rounds in Zeleno the day before yesterday in a nutty street battle against three players. I only killed two and had to use my .357 on the third. But Zeleno is perfect for the shotgun in the area around the jail since you can jump back behind all those buildings etc. without much effort.

Lets be honest, we go to the coast to get human contact. You aren't likely to find humans anywhere else since the other locations distribute people pretty evenly. At the coast, at least you can find someone, ANYONE, to do something with, be it shoot or help or even just talk. If we get more server population it will diversify the locations folks can meet.

Don't approach unless you want to risk death. Don't be too trusting. Approach the situation with as close to parity as possible. If you are in the dominant position, you will be fine (or maybe still dead). If you want to live, you can't be interested in putting your life in the hands of those you don't trust. Learn to not care so much. Don't get attached to gear. Don't sweat death in the first hour, it is essentially meaningless even though people will try and pretend it matters. There is nothing more embarrassing than folks who threaten newspawns or try to handcuff them. What are they thinking? To hell with them, just carry on your marry way, punch them, attack them, do whatever. What is the worst that can happen? You die and respawn a kilometer or two away.

Probably the bigger issue is that you and your buddy are assholes. That seems the greater concern compared to his teleportation.

I am always appreciative when someone comes and helps me out. I died in Zeleno a couple weeks ago and met a group of four who gave me a compass, a Spite, and an open can of food. It was enough to get me back to the grocery stores in Cherno to get a little more drink then run the rest of the way.

I broke up two fist fights in Kamishovo yesterday by killing the guys with helmets and hand weapons as they beat newspawns. I then saw a bunch of new spawn running into town and heard a bunch of M4 fire. I left. The issue with going to the coast to kill bandits is that you will generally look the same as a bandit which just means you have people who will gun you down for being nice.

Apples and oranges can both keep and remain edible for weeks in a climate like chernerus. Banana on the other hand won't. But really, in the zombie apocalypse, fruit rot may be one of the easier things to ignore.

This morning I found myself with a sawed off, mosin, .45, and a .357. I had an M4 in my hands at one point. I looked at my quick slots and looked like I was playing Doom. I chucked the M4, dumped my .45 in Zeleno, and kept the rest because I just like the shotgun but feel like the .357 is too nice to have!

If you got 100 hours out of a $30 game, you did well. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Was this the first time you bought a game and didn't find you like it? As far as going nowhere, they have released quite a lot of content and everything I have seen shows me that they are making decent progress and are responsive to the needs of the player base.

what might be causing attached attachment to turn pristine
PhillyT replied to mssing's topic in General Discussion
You know, I swear the PU scope on my Mosin was worn the other day yet right now it is pristine. And I mean I KNOW it was worn.... -
At which point is it justified to shoot a man that's surrendered?
PhillyT replied to thelonewarrior's topic in General Discussion
I have to be honest, the other night, Saturday, I killed four relatively unarmed people: 1. Person 1 - I caught him in the lumber yard in Berezino. Was wearing a gasmask (I probably should have shot him for that, but at least it wasn't a Payday mask). I was behind a wall and asked if he was friendly. He immediately pulled out a fire axe and started hunting around for me. I told him to put the axe away and he refused. I popped around my wall and gave him both barrels then moved on. 2. While exiting the train station, a woman sprinted up on me with her fists up. I shouted "whoa whoa whoa, back off" as I ran out into the road to get a little space, I swung around with my shotgun and asked if she was friendly. I asked if she had a mic. Nothing in response. I asked if she knew how to communicate with the keyboard. Nothing. I told her to back up (she kept inching closer to me over and over again as I backed away). I stood in silence for about 10 seconds, then shot her with both barrels. I felt a little bad afterwards because I wondered if the person was trying to type something but I wasn't going to stand around in the road on a 40 person full server. 3. After shooting the lady in the street, I moved to the little wooded hill on that end of town to wait for my buddy who was coming down from NEAF. When he arrived, he and I went up towards the hospital. As we made our way, we saw a guy in a bright red tee shirt all the way over at the barns near the construction site. We made out way over to tell him to get rid of the shirt since we saw it all the way from the woods. When we arrived he had changed into an equally obvious raincoat. We got him to stop, offered him advice (including the fact that the town was totally picked over). He knelt down and did the friendly wiggle. For THREE MINUTES. It was funny first, then he didn't respond. We told him to leave. We told him he was creeping us out. We told him to stop. We told him we were tempted to shoot him. FInally we just headed for the construction site and made sure he didn't approach. But it was strange. 4. Same day, one hour later, same server, I was on the roof of the construction site. A new spawn was on the third floor. I told the person I was friendly and that there was a holster and bullets on the roof. I waited for about 3 minutes as the person moved back and forth on the third floor, popping into the open repeatedly and looking at me and my buddy. Finally my buddy went down and confronted him (we saw him at the sandunes with another player and suspected he might be bait) he just stopped and stared up at me. With a shotgun and an M4 pointed at him, we said that he needed to either leave or communicate or we would fire. I counted down from 5 and he didn't budge. We shot him. 5. Capping off the strangness, after having had enough of the weirdos, we went down and decided to head for Polana to get out west and away from these crazy bambis. No sooner had I gotten out to the crane when some lady with no clothes on but a pair of sneakers hopping like a track star with her fists up came flying straight at me from the coastal orchard. Without batting an eye I said over the mic "FUck you." and unloaded both barrels on her. I had honestly had enough. I am so tired of people who cannot or are unwilling to communicate with others. IF you can turn on a PC, start steam, and buy a game, you can use a damn keyboard. If you can't or won't, and you are creepy or strange, you will probably die and you deserve it. You aren't really anything but a player controlled zombie at that point.
