I can see that! I won't ever allow myself to be handcuffed. But this cat was just acting crazy! -

I hope not!We asked him to put away his axe for 10 seconds before he trotted off to draw that damn rifle! -
Bud, he killed it. You fall down when you are dead. If a bullet doesn't hit a critical area that impedes movement, a person doesn't just collapse on the ground. There is shock, surprise, and confusion. PEople aren't knocked over by the force. I shoot a Springfield XDM .45 and adore it. have a home range. I shoot all sorts of fun things. But the .45 isn't going to move something more than 20 - 30 pounds. If I hit something solid around that weight, it doesn't do anything but sway. Shooting a 160 pound man won't do much other than poke a big hole in them. If you are saying the psychological trauma of being shot will cause the person to momentarily faint from a non-lethal hit, I can see that being possible, but highly unlikely. Like I said, I shoot a lot, but I have never shot a human or been shot myself. Going off what I have read though, I have to say that non-lethal strikes don't send people flying, nor do they make people suddenly collapse for more than anything but a moment in surprise. I would welcome evidence to the contrary since it would make life more exciting!

I don't know Gibonez. A .45 isn't likely to knock a person down if struck. You aren't getting punched, you are getting punctured. You might be surprised and jump, but you aren't being bowled over. I shoot a 30'06 when I hunt. I rarely take a shot beyond 100 yards, but I have seen a deer hit at 200 yards. A 160 pound buck, shot with a 160 gr. 30'06 round at 200 yards in the ribs ducked like it had just been surprised, then turned, ran 20 feet, and died. He didn't go twisting into the reeds from the impact. It just doesn't happen. It looks really cool, and there is nothing wrong with having some form of pick up and toss ragdoll if they decide to do it, but when a man is shot, he doesn't fall down from the impact, he falls from being surprised and tripping or from being shot and dying.

You are a sniper KOS bandit. It is what it is. But why would you feel bad about it? What were you hoping for, him to cry into an open mic? But yeah. he combat logged, and at that point he gets no sympathy.

I shoot 10 pound plates with high caliber rounds. They are more likely to tip backwards, not go flying. Really, as someone else stated above, you are asking for movie style blowback which is fun to see, but not realistic.

What are people finding with the new guns? My take: SKS: Seems like a nice alternative to the Mosin... until you start using it. Noticeably less accurate, LOUD, and recoil that is too high to really get successful followup shots. Still a good gun with the higher fire rate, but it really makes you appreciate the Mosin. Good for close range and mid range (50m - 200m) engagements but swap to a close range weapon if closer or move to a better position if further away. B29 - Not sure if it is the newness or novelty, but this is a fun gun. Fantastic accuracy (though no optic option) and damage similar to the Mosin with fast fire, it is a cool mid to long range gun with a nice change of pace, Mosin is still the sniper king, but this is a great weapon for iron sight kills at 100 - 300 yards. Plus you get the Rule of Cool while carrying it.

Not that I have ever been shot, though I have spoken to a couple friends who have suffered injury, bullets don't really transmit the kind of force necessary to move a person. There have been many recorded cases where people, due to adrenaline, don't even know they have been shot. In many cases, people reaction to being shot actually is to turn and return fire on the shooter (if a person is trained). Ballistics is basic physics. The bullet cannot transmit as much force on the target as it had when it was fired. So the impact on the target will FEEL less than the recoil in the gun, but the bullet will penetrate rather than push. Anyone who hunts can tell you a 30'06 or .308 won't knock a deer over unless it is out of surprise. They generally jump from the impact then run for it or just collapse in place.

The three of us put them on! Honestly, if the helmet is enough to give you away when another option wouldn't, then it seems like it is unlikely to be that big of a deal!

I haven't fired the Mosin enough in game to feel it out. I have a Mosin, and feel like it isn't that far off from what I have seen, though rumor has it that the Mosin has had its kick increased since the last patch? The SKS on the other hand jumps like a .300 winmag which is stupid.

Combined with the gasmask, they look awesome. And they aren't too hard to find. My buddies and I found three between Green Mountain, Vybor military base, and NWAF.
-
I can see there being value in being able to figure out who is who in game, but I think it could be the fact that unlike the MOD, you have the chance of linking an ingame name to a real world Steam account. That could open up some issues, though it is fine on PSN or XBox Live.
-
Sure, but with 40 people on a server, determining who is who is extremely difficult.
-
I don't know. WHat I have noticed is that the pistols don't recoil enough, SKS jumps too much, and the M4 isn't nearly accurate enough. Other than that, the game does pretty well. What have you seen that you dislike?
-
You guys are still feeding this troll?
-
I kept hearing folks, including my friends, say they were finding them in civilian locations but I had no luck. I finally had to head out west to the Vybor military Base, NWAF, and Zeleno to find them. But when I did, all I was finding were SKS!

I'm a Guide/camera Man looking for a group.

I am in Maine and play with a handful of East Coast players. We are a fun bunch and would love to have another member, especially one with your approach to the game. My user name on Steam is the same as here. The only requirement is you have a mic. -
I decided to time how long I could survive walking through Elektro on a full server fully geared with the limitation that I had to say hello and wait for a response before I was allowed to fire. I lasted 7 minutes, saw one guy who didn't respond and heard about 30 shots off Sniper Hill as I moved between buildings down near the coast. FInally, decided to log out in a building since the snipers on the hill were apparently dealing with players that might have greeted me. Not a briliant idea. I then logged into my hardcore character in the woods above the Hospital in Berenzino. I walk out of the trees and immediately see a player. I move within 50m, pleased he hasn't fired yet. As I turn on my mic and say "Howdy partner!"(I am in a down jacket with a cowboy hat on) I hear an SKS ring out, drowning out my words. I immediately drop to the ground (being in the middle of those damn fields west of Berenzino and 50m from a player) and start crawling/rolling towards the gully area near the tavern with the water fountain. All the while I am saying things like "It doesn't need to be this way brother! Why can't we all just get along? I won't shoot if you hold your fire man!" He is still shooting intermittently, and once I am in a position that seem like a good spot to run, I stand and start trotting, looking north to where he was. Immediately, I see him and he sees me. I bring up my B29 as he fires two more times. He stops and I see him fumbling to load his gun. I fire my first shot into his helmet, then the second almost immediately after. He dies, but as I approach his body, I hear a Mosin start shooting and the sound of bullets zinging past me. I ran for the tavern and pulled my .357, hiding in the staircase, watching the door. The second shooter never came. If anyone was just in the ARC Hardcore server in Berenzino, why the hate? So if saying hello to a player a long ways away who is pointing a gun at you is stupid, then I fit the bill!
-
Is it in the game yet? I have an orange down jacket right now that looks somewhat like a leather jacket.
-
Banditing is a valid form of play and heightens tension, but I just like the fun of actually talking to a person.
-
Oh, we got a badass over here! Be a man and post the server and time. I am sure you will have a grand old time.
-
This is funny because I can't find a gun to save my life! I am still fully geared, but I cam looking for the SKS to try it out and have been through Berenzino twice, the inland construction site three times, and Polana twice. I found a single double barrel.
-
I have been playing quite a lot of hardcore lately and honestly feel it is EASIER to use 1PP. You know that you will see others by the time they see you. They can't hide behind corners. I can run into towns or observe them much more easily. I don't really see an issue with either style since they are balanced.
-
So, I am wondering if it is different between hardcore and regular servers. I was having a really bad lag issue in hardcore, but when using my character in regular, no issues. I also didn't have an issue on the night servers, as others have said.

The new logout system is bad. Very, very bad.

I have found that when I log back in, I am about 8 feet from where I was. Not bad, but could be costly in some cases!
