One of my AK muzzle breaks has side vents. I think the intent is flash suppression.

Why do you need to give supplies to be nice? Just share a greeting, some advice, and move on.

So really... muzzle break.

Sniper Ranging and Zeroing formula not working
PhillyT replied to cooMaster's topic in General Discussion
Just estimate and be a man. -
Take it like a man, enjoy regearing, and do it again. You can't just stand in the middle of the street and say hello. You need to engage in conversation from the dominant position, with your weapon drawn and pointing at them. Talk to them. If they have no mic or refuse communication, be careful. If they move in a way that looks like they are trying to hide or break line of site, shoot them. You can be nice without being naive. But going to KOS isn't really fun, though it might be cathartic.

How about we stop pretending it is a grenade launcher tube and just accept that it is most likely a muzzle break? SKS muzzle breaks are cheap and common.
-
I thought it was just a muzzle break.

I emptied a full 6 rounds into a player, only to have him be 30m away immediately after. I don't call him a teleporter because I watched his buddy magically float through a wall and coast through the sky immediately before. I'll believe the magic of teleported hackers when I see it. In a game where you need to fight the controls just to play regular, this whole Nigfhtcrawler claims ring hollow. It was more likely a desynch.

Doesn't sound like a teleport to me.

Gentlemen please! Can't we all meet in Solichnya and discuss this like gentlemen?

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22
PhillyT replied to JalapaJuiceJerry's topic in General Discussion
Oh my Gibby BEar, you are a master of Youtube foo, but I am telling you, .22, in a typical setting, firing a typical round, in the hands of a typical shooter, kill squirrels, slow groundhogs, and piss off woodchucks. That is about it. -
I paid for mine to add to my Russian rifle collection and have shot it a handful of times. I honestly haven't tried to improve it or myself in firing it, so I am probably not the greatest judge. I can't imagine the Mosin's laying around Chernarus are really much better in terms of condition though!
-
I figured, I was just adding my two cents! But my mosin is of suspect quality, shooting junk ammo, so who knows what a mosin expert can do! It has more wood than a wood stove too!
-
I have seen the videos, but I can tell you an iron sight mosin is worthless beyond 300 yards.
-
Its damage is essentially the same as the mosin.

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22
PhillyT replied to JalapaJuiceJerry's topic in General Discussion
The caliber of the weapon has a huge impact. A .22 to the head will hurt like crazy and can kill. But hits to the body will rarely result in death until sometime later. That is the difference between stopping power and lethality. Yes it might kill you, but not that fast. They don't recommend .22 for hunting anything but small varmint for a reason. And we have ample evidence from combat that even an AK74 or 47 can quite easily be shrugged off in the heat of battle. Unless it is a lethal shot, people will work through what would hurt like hell in a normal situation. But really, we are trying to justify a gun that doesn't need justification. It is just a fun thing to add, not a meaningful inclusion. -
Very cool gun, but yeah, the lack of optics make its accuracy relative. You can't really capitalize on that accuracy because you just can't see far enough to make it worthwhile. I still love the gun and it is my choice of weapon when just wandering around meeting people.
-
If I hear fire I first determine if it has the potential of being at me. If I am in the middle of a town and it seems far off, it is probably at another target. I will get into a safe position and try to figure out where the shots came from. The main thing is changing the setting from you reacting to shifting to safe so it is your forcing the response.

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22
PhillyT replied to JalapaJuiceJerry's topic in General Discussion
They have had an increase in .22 caliber pistols and rifles because of the recent ammo cost increases. Of course, actually finding a box of .22 rounds is almost impossible in many places! I got an XDm .45 at the end of the summer. Fantastic pistol! But seriously, including a 10/22 when you haven't added an AK47 or 74 is a travesty. -

Which is of course the point. Is a .22 lethal? Yes, all bullets are. But is it consistently so? Not a chance. -

You can run all the videos in the world though Gib, the issue remains that the 9mm is considered too low a caliber for efficient combat, let alone the .22. The 10/22 is a meaningless fun gun and nothing more. -

Which is the crazy thing. Mosin are super common whereas 10/22 would be quite rare and quite weak. But then again, they stuck M4 in the game instead of AK47. -

Really not sure Badash. I just recall reading it was voted in by tge fans. Probably because people own them, so they wanted the gun they have in real life!
