    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

How about you just play the game without needing to use terms like "easy cam" because honestly, it sounds more like you want to be able to have an easier time by exploiting limited visibility to ensure an advantage...

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

I kill plenty on Hardcore. It is just as easy to get the drop on people since they aren't nearly as aware of their surroundings. The area around the Berezino train station and the backyards of that area are perfect for it. Get on someones flank or rear and they have no chance. By the time you start shooting, they are dead. Rocket didn't have to adhere to anything. Rocket had to settle for the terrible engine that he was offered. You get to play as a man bravely trying to learn to walk again, complete with super slow turn speed, snail pace strafing, and unending endurance.

So does playing a style that is reminiscent of a man recovering from a terrible car accident.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

See, comments like this, and you are certainly not the only one who talks like this, is why the 95% of us who prefer 3PP think 1PP L33t players are sort of D-bags.

Honestly, the better PVP players are in 3PP as a whole. You get a higher number of new spawns as well, but people who like to shoot people are going where the people are. 1PP is the safe place for people who want the luxury of running around town exploiting the 90 degree view the game saddles the player with.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

A person on the street below isn't going to be much better off with a 1PP sniper either. You are talking about a tactical disadvantage. And in a bush, you can easily shift to 1PP and still be virtually invisible. You just need to align the individual frond in front of you into a position where it is clipping into your face. The vast majority of the frond will become green dots while you are still 90% covered by it. Players more than 100m will never see you. But this is a separate issue. The reality is this: As in any game or sport, if everyone has the same rules, then there is a level playing field. 1PP and 3PP do reward and penalize certain play styles. 3PP exploits the greater visibility that brings. 1PP exploits the huge blind spots that system brings. Reality falls between the two (3PP gives you too much vision, 1PP gives you too little) 1PP is easier because you are less likely to be seen by other players. 3PP is easier because you have an easier time spotting players. Neither is any harder or easier than the other, nor is one unfair or cheating. Both offer a different style. The majority of players prefer the 3PP, most likely because it feels more realistic from a movement and visibility perspective. The ARMA engine is really pretty much garbage, even if you are looking for a non-arcade experience. It could use some serious improvements and could have those without moving to the crazy run and gun style of COD or Battlefield. 1PP is artificially stiff, sluggish, obscured, and buggy. You still need to use it to shoot if you want to be effective, but when moving around, it doesn't simulate the awareness of a person in the real world. You mention that a person who is laying on a roof shouldn't be able to look around 360 degrees. I would say a person in the middle of a field shouldn't be almost totally oblivious to everything within the back 270 degrees of their facing.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

It doesn't create an uneven playing field. All players have access to all the same tools and tactics. Who is restricted from using the tactics 3PP allows? And hiding a tree or bush will make you virtually invisible while being in 1PP essentially makes the leaves not exist from most perspectives. We have all had bush bandits gun for us.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Hiding in a pine tree sets up a situation where one person can see and the other cant. One person armed and the other not is unequal. You are talking about situations which are equally applicable to similar 1pp ones. If you want to say 3pp allows ambushes an advantage over runners, then yes. But ambushes are always at an advantage. All players play by the same rules.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

You visa versa shows that you are equally capable of using the same tactic. Equal footing.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Nextel, you didn't destroy anything. Players are on equal footing when everyone has the same rules and tools at their disposal. Both types have equal footing.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Everyone is on equal footing in a 3PP in Regular.

    How to balance sniper rifles.

Well we already have sniper rifles. They are scary, but not broken.

Eeeeeeeexactly. Best part is they try to point to Dean and his feelings, as though that matter one single tiny bit.

Cut Down The HC Servers In Experimental

Isn't that the only difference between Hardcore and Regular?

I lose every fist battle i get into.

I have pretty bad luck with punching too. Which is why I don't do it. And honestly, I have never seen a time when I needed to. IF I only have my fists, I run.

Cut Down The HC Servers In Experimental

I would steal everything Dean owned and make him hit a gaspump until he died. Dean calling anyone out is quite a laugh. But I do so love the l33t 1PP and their staunch refusal to accept their extreme minority status. But they are the hardest of hardcorers, hiding in their little world of supposed superiority.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

LOL, it isn't wrong. Seriously, is it so difficult to admit that 1PP is nothing more than a choice? There is nothing more difficult about the setting. As a matter of fact, the complaints of 1PP players is that the 3PP makes the game harder for them. They feel like they are being abused by wall peepers and want a 1PP to prevent that advantage (or at least to remove that advantage). So this ridiculous claim that 1PP is harder ignores the very reason for demanding a locked persepctive.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

I hate to break this to you Soulfirez, but nothing you are offering is anymore valid. If the arguement doesn't sway you, so be it. Regular players far outnumber Hardcore. You can take your ball to your little servers and have a blast. The point of the boxer analogy is that the game is on equal footing. Players are all playing by the same rules. If everyone has the same limitations, nobody gets the advantage. The continued claim that hardcore somehow levels things off isn't accurate.
  19. PhillyT

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Except that it isn't harder. Change up the boxer analogy: If one fighter gets to not use gloves while the other has to, the one with gloves is at a disadvantage. It is easier to knock out the guy without gloves on. But if both fighters are forced to wear gloves, then it is harder to knock out both fighters, but is it now a harder fight? No, it is a different fight. Both fighters are incapable of getting the easier knock out, but since both are playing by the same rules, the fight isn't harder. It is different.

    LOL at those who think

KOS will always be a thing, though the OP's example isn't a KOS situation. The person clearly made contact prior to shooting! But really, more zombies will make it more risky to get into a gun fight in the middle of a city.

    Giving us a point ?

    I want my AK

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Neither is the ARMA 1PP. It is a hair above Resident Evil 2 for the PS1. YOu move like a battle mech from Mechwarrior 2.
  23. PhillyT

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

I disagree. This is a difference of opinion, but 1PP players crowing about how much harder their Hardcore servers are don't understand the fact that neither is harder or more challenging than the other.
  24. PhillyT

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

With the exception of the more extreme wall looks, you don't see that much more with corner looking. It is a far more realistic look.
  25. PhillyT

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

I am not taking a piss or anything, but 1PP is about 33% as realistic as an actual person. Between tip toe peeking, leaning, ducking around things, the robotic movement destroys any sense of reality. 3PP at least marginally makes up for that.
