    M4 spawns

M4 is great, but I am an AK guy.
  2. Guys you are confused, Gibonez wants the game to reflect exactly what is required for him to succeed. Everything else is meaningless to him.
  3. Gibonez, you should just quit. Or become a developer. This game will never reflect what you demand. You won't ever be satisfied. Move on.

To the dude at Balota airstrip today on low pop server

I am genuinely a pretty nice guy, but I seriously doubt he was looking out for your best interests at Bolota when he refused to respond to your calls. He deserved to get shot.

    Tactical Vest

No clue. Was appearing on forum and with some of the youtubers. mint condition mosin and m4 with unlimited round mags are easy to find in Berezino on a couple of the servers we play on Rick, but admittedly, might be duping and not hacking in items.

    Tactical Vest

They weren't "hacked" into the game, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. They were taken off the loot table because they don't fit the female characters correctly (as you can see in my screenshot), but if you had one before they were removed, you were able to keep it. If they can hack in guns and clothes, why not the vest? Strikes me as more likely than that many players who still had them still having them with all of the issues with rollbacks and erasures.

    Tactical Vest

I liked those. Why did they take them out of the loot spawns? He could have still had them (unlikely) or maybe it was hacked (more likely).

Is character movement too responsive ?

Gibonez, have you ever seen anything that you actually think is well executed in DayZ SA? I mean, everyone should be pin point shooters, but if you never tire from running, it is broken? The only thing unnatural in DayZ is the eternal running, which is there because vehicles aren't. The players move like they are ankle deep in mud for all other movement. Maybe if you are fat or a paraplegic, it seems unnatural, but to a moderately healthy human, it is actually even worse than real life.

Just now gave the 1911 a chance...

I own three 1911's, an R1 enhanced, a Colt GI model 90's series, and a Springfield 1911 Operator. They are fantastic, classic firearms. Now in the game, the FNX is a better overall choice, since it is more of a tactical .45. I found two engraved 1911's this morning and picked up one, but I have a .357 with three speed loaders which makes it tough to keep since I only have a single magazine.
  10. How often do you find LRS outside of military bases? They are tough to find. "Military loot" begins and ends with LRS and M4's. Other than that, we are playing with regular gear. Really though, only the M4 is a legitimate military item. The LRS should be all over the place in reality, but it is controlled for balance's sake.

Military bases have wayy to much loot

So what, because most people aren't going to military bases on most servers they need to deplete military bases of loot? That makes sense you? Will that solve anything? That will do little more than reinforce server hopping. People who want the loot will just jump until they get as much as they want.
  12. Yeah, never seen people do it? I don't do it, though I used to at times. But complaining about there being too much loot at a base ignores the fact that people who want all the loot they could want and see that as the main point of the game will just hop, regardless of how much there will be with each jump. On those rare times I want to fully gear, I head out to vybor, hit the base, move to green mountain, hit zeleno, and normally that will be the two hours I play in a day. I load back up in the morning, hit zeleno, Greenmountain, vybor, the city of vybor, and then NWAF if I have a friend to go with. Just like that, in two sessions, fully geared without a server hop. It isn't really the point though is it? I killed a guy with a sawed off and took his gear with only his helmet ruined in Berezino on my last Hardcore play through. Gear comes and goes. I love the regearing process where you are looking for bullets and pistols on the coast. I generally ignore the military areas now anyway, since a magnum or mosin can be fine until you kill a player who has fully kitted an M4 for you.

Military bases have wayy to much loot

Define a rare item? AKM, on an island that was occupied by the military (which was subsequently turned into zombies) would be all over the place. Rarity in terms of usefulness or reason?

    This game wont change me!

I help most of the time. If I see a fully geared player and I am alone, I will often shoot them if I cannot get into a position to talk to them. In hardcore especially, I will fire on fully armed players if they have their guns out. If not, I will talk first. In regular, I will make contact from behind a wall or building. I don't KOS unless I get a bad vibe. If a person is armed but not responding to me, I will shoot them. I play my character to survive, not grief. If I take fire and can't identify the shooter, I run. But I actively try to engage other players in non-aggressive contact. But heck, if the game lacked bandits, it would be boring as hell!

Military bases have wayy to much loot

Again, you aren't heavily geared. You are barely geared. No ammo can, no security case, the worst long arm, no can opener, compass, binoculars, hunter pack, etc. You have some loot, but you can get similarly geared hitting Dolena/Polana/inland construction site (other than the assault vest). The loot on the map is fine. Upping the player count a little would improve it, as would better zombies. Those are coming, so complaining isn't all that useful in regards to current loot placement.
  16. You cannot get all the military loot you want on the coast, unless by coast you mean running all the way to Bolota, which is technically on the coast but not easy to loot. Looting isn't hard anyway. Go to Zeleno and server hop. Go to Vybor. Neither of those military sites are ever touched. They can gear you within three jumps and you go to war after that. The only thing stopping people from gearing is play style. What you can get on the coast is enough fire power to still fight other players, but the number of folks straight up complaining about things is getting absurd. Some in particular seem to take issue with everything that could possibly be discussed.
  17. If you don't think the system already rewards skill, then you aren't fighting enough players. I am not a deathmatch player really, but I have killed 13 people in the last week and a half, several on the one night I deathmatched in Berezino. I also play with the best player I have ever had the chance to run with on a regular basis. I see him plug guys on the move with an ACOG M4 from 100 - 300 meters with scary regularity. Play, practice, stop making excuses.
  18. Jesus folks, everyone need a kleenex? Why does it matter? In the mod, Electro was a deathmatch. Now it is Berezino. You can go and have fun there. Or ignore it. I do miss it being a little less lethal. What used to happen was mod vets would spawn, loot, and go to NWAF or Cherno/Elektro. Now, people see little purpose in that long trip just to die so they kit Berezino now. Big deal. Skip it.

You have one somewhat legitimate weapon, a 1911 with a magazine in it. I don't know if I call that fully geared. But yeah, hitting NWAF when it is untouched and nobody is there to contest it will lead to a lot of gear. How is that a problem? BAses are for that. But really, you don't need to hit a base to be competitive with zombies, and you can kill players with the guns you find in civilian locations.

    Is a break in order?

I took a month off and it was the best thing I could do. I took a jaunt through Elder Scrolls Online, had a blast, then started watching a couple of Youtubers playing to get excited again. When my month in Tamriel was up, I stopped my subscription and started back up in Dayz. Love it once again. Take a little time off.
  21. I like the dot. Trying to pick up items without the dot would only add to the general awkwardness of the game.
  22. If responding to a thread is a desperate plea for attention, then apparently I am desperate for attention. So is the OP. But I like your white knight persona, so good on you son!

Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?

Best ballistics model? If having a ballistic model is enough to be the best, then yeah, I guess. The ballistics aren't anything particularly impressive. They factored in bullet drop and marginal penetration. It isn't like they have invested an immense amount of effort into the concept.

    Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?

When I play regular, I like seeing around cover. So there, you want a third or fourth style of play? Come on. Play hardcore. It is easier anyway so should work great for folks who dislike dying from ambushes around corners. Instead I can follow you for five minutes because situational awareness is like zero. Then I will shoot you in the head when you try to eat a can of peaches.
  25. Tell you what, every time, assume it was me. I will be your source of renewal. You can post me an angry message, I will apologize and we will move on!
