Now this is a very single pointed view. Even though I agree on the idea reseting all the items, on the other hand I disagree. The reason I agree is that people have bcome too obsessed with their gear. Known as KOS (killing on sight). They are afraid to lose their gear, which is obvious. However, they are too scared. I would of course protect my gear, but I would try to give people a chance. Even though I know this means I could put my own gun at my head instead of him. This is not everybody though. I met nice people, I met others who are reasonable. After the last update I noticed I could find supplies and gear in just one day! This makes a fare share for everyone, but still we all are greedy at some point. This change makes people more comfortable to die and not compleatly ragequit for losing their gear, when they can gain it back in 20 minutes. After all, this is a survival game, the point is to gather and survive and handle a worst case scenerio. However, I got some other reason I disagree with you. It does of course take time to gather good military gear. In addition it may be annoying to gather gear every single time. I admit it myself it's annoying when my gear get reset everytime on a other server, so I stick to only one. You also have to know your location everytime you spawn when you join th game again. I have many other reasons, however, there is no need for that because you get my point. This change is most unlikly to happen unfortunately.

I recently had the same problem, so I gave up and uninstalled everything. The thing is, I think DayZ Commander don't work anymore. I have read some topics about it. However, most of the say it is out of function. I would just reinstall both games to make sure there it nothign wrong with it and be sure to run as adminstrator. You do it by right-clicking Steam. Sometimes Steam wont be able to make the game work because if you have two users on your computer, it happen that Steam get confused or don't get permission to overwrite scripts to the right user. The next thing when you have done that, you install the DayZ mod. You can find it in Steam's store and it's totally free! Hope it helped!

I ran down from the military base in the North West. However, when I chosed to run straight over the map to Balota, I somehow ended up a place where there were only plains and nothing more. I know this is a debug and I'm outside of the map, so I searched for helped and followed a direction I was suppose to. I ended up near the ocean, but I think I'm wasting my time trying to find the way back. I have read to some posts where you can ask to be moved to a playable area, without needing to respawn. THe problem is I can't find the ID to my player to be moved. Please help?

Even though how much people complain about this "shoot on sight" or "lies about friendly servers" it will never change the truth and meaning behind DayZ. I also think it is dissepointing that people shoot on sight. Think if this kind of consept really happen. If every person ended to shoot other on sight, there would be no chance to make a society without knowing them before the outbreak happen. One reason behind this killingspree is probably because in the DayZ Mod from Arma 2, the Alpha made is easily to get loot and there still is. However, in the standalone they made it extreamly hard for beginners who first played, such as myself. They made people more greedy which led to not taking no chances at all to try to interact with other players. What I'm pointing out doesn't tell which game is better, it just show the differences of what type of surviving game you like. The mod is more of like easy to interact with people because there is so much lot. The standalone doesn't have much loot now, maybe in the future, but it isn't enough to everybody. It makes people server jump and killing you for your pants. However, back to the point of this argument is that the meaning behind this game, is that in this type of world, there are no rules and people kill for survival. It's either their life or yours. Sorry for going to deep in this topic, but if you don't like pvp in zombie survival games I would consider you to play either Left for Dead etc. You could also try the mod out to check the differences on the brutallity to see what you like.

It's a bug, as I always do, when I die, I press respawn, if no react, i go to another server. They said they fixed it on the patch.

Never happen to me, but I would first respawn to it says you're dead, then if you don't respawn after 10-20 seconds, join another server, hope this helps.

I totally agree with you! DayZ is one of the special games where you can chose how you want to be, first time when I played this, it was really intense feeling how my heart was beating for the first itme because of a game. It actually happen when I heard some shots near me, and that's all it needs. If this game was just PVE, it would be nothing more than a other zomie game, teaming up and killing them, but in DayZ, you have the abillity to actually kill other, or being able to trust someone. Good point mate!

This is a Alpha after all. DayZ is unique because people are able to be bandits, most zombie games doesn't have that abillity. I have seen on the mod, that it can come a random horde of zombies, with no reason at all, making it intense. The guys who made this game, are looking for suggestions from all of us, I would like to have a random horde showing up in nowhere attacking you because of your sounds or what so ever.

It happen to me too one time, fulled geared and stuff, but it does make you dissepointed, I was in the airstation, and I ran up to the towers. I leaned into the wall, since I looked around me, if someone was camping there. And I suddenly spawned out.. It's a Alpha of course, and you die easy from hights in this game.

He isn't being defensive, because you killed a player with good gear, maybe he had played for a while, pluss, you just met him, followed him, then killed him, short resume, but you are taking him for a serve hopper that is a bad reputation on other players. It's like going to a player you killed, then you posting a report that the player you killed is for example a hacker. It sounds dumb, I tell you that.

Honesty, people who don't read the warning for the Alpha shouldn't be taken seriously. It was your own choise buying it, so did I, and I have only experienced 3 serious bugs, like: invisable zombie, going through walls, and the random death when you join a server. I think the random death is kinds rare, but maybe because you spawn, then wait for the host to accept you, and you get killed by a zombie or a player while you're waiting. Futher, it has been laggy, but thy is only because your network connection, and I'm going to repeat myself, the Alpha did have a clearly warning that bugs might destroy your gaming experience. You know why they sended a Alpha that early? Because they wanted "betatesters" to check the game out, giving reports about bugs and hints for things they should add to the game. When the game is really out, they make good money because they had players who played the Alpha and helped them making the game better. From my view the game is pretty good to be a Alpha, and you being uneccesary offensive to Dean because you didn't read the warning, with all my reapect, read if things have changed and read the warnings before you even buy it.

I could give you a fast tip there, first of all, if you go to a high populated server, you should know most houses are looted. Second one is for telling where you are located, just read it and you know! =D

It has happen to me too, reason is that the host it taking to long, and you suddenly die, mostly because either a zombie or a player killed you, just some hints, if it's a server issue, it is critical.

It happens sometimes to me too, but it's either a bug, or a setup you use, like when I use SHift to walk, and hold it for a time, you walk automaticly, if you are able to 3rd person, to that one time by pressing Enter, and it should dissepear, and you run noramally again, Works for me.

I have heard many people have been aggresive against people who kill you when you meet them, or after you came along with them. I have some tips I could give fast for main situations and what to do. 1. First of all, it's good with communication, the best is to have a mic so oyou can respond fast to players like saying "Friendly!" to lower the pressure, surrendring itsn't a good choice, because then they have a clear shot to kill you before you can get your weapon. 2. If you get into a fight, don't PRONE! Never do it, it only makes you a easier target. If you ar eunsure meeting the player, either get away from him/her by sneaking. 3. When you meet a player, and they see you, say friendly, but don't lower your weapon because even you say friendly, and then some seconds with silence, the other player is deciding if he/she is going to kill you. 4. If you get along with a player you just met, doesn't mean he/she is your best wingman for your journy, because they could even go so low by backstabbing you the second you turn your own back, here are the tips to know they are friendly, and a trusty person. -If they want to add you on Steam, it's a good sign, they want to know you and be your friend. -Look where they are looking. Your friend would look around to the left and right, A spy would stare at you most of the times, but they could trick you by using 3rd person. The best you could do is to stand a little back or say that if he/she is going to be your company, they have to follow some rules like "You can only be in front of me, if I catch you doing anything suspicous, I will kill you!" -Have a known friend with you! It's the most safly way to meet other players you don't know, because they know he/she got two eyes on them, making them sure not to kill one of you, because they get themself killed, but of course, it depends on the skills you have. -Don't say your goodbyes when you are going to leave the server when you with a unknown player, because, they could kill you when you are on the menu log because you, or they didn't ask to add on Steam. -Be nice and helpfull! Other players lose their motevation and trust if you only are following them, like for example they are hungry/hurt/, and you help them with giving food or bandage them. They will think you of a "hero" they call it on DayZ, the players who are helping other suriviors in DayZ. -If the player is not your friend, or not a known one, Always watch your back. I have read many stories on how low and crual other players can be when it comes to hang around other players.
