Not to mention that the Russian crash sites look like theyve been sitting for years, whereas the American crash site looks like it crash 30 minutes ago.

Make the infected afraid of fire

Zombies being stronger at night isn't something you can "rip off". Thats like saying Call of Duty ripped off Halo because it had guns.

    Questions About The Game

Yeah, unfortunately the regular single hall barracks seemed to be invaded with useless medical clothing now, at least from what I've seen.

Says the one calling KoS'ers sub-human. Not to mention I follow the argument way more than you did.

"describes playing Cod"? Wow, way to be an immature little child. KoS, by definition means Kill On Sight. You can check literally every site that has it (namely Urban dictionary). It does NOT count as greifing. What counts as greifing is the child-like attitude you have adopted and brought into this conversation. And your logic of " I didnt die for all of .59 experimental", well i didnt die either, so not a big accomplishment or challenge there, buddy. And the logic of "Just because most players adopted it, doesnt make it right". Bitch please, last time I checked, there was still children like 11 years old on this game shouting racial slurs if you killed them, you really want to bring "whats right" into dayz? This is a game about survival, not about "what is right". If you want politics on moral choices, go play something else, because this isn't the place for it and theres absolutely nothing you can do to stop KoS. No matter what the devs do, KoS will always be in this game, considering they're trying to make it "realistic", they can't imposea penalty on it. So you're shit out of luck. Also "continue to run around all smug because the average knuckle dragger agrees with you", are you implying that everyone who has KoS'd, is below you? Man, you talk about whats right, but you're basically calling every KoS'er sub-human. Your toxicity could kill a country, go cry in a corner or something. [Edit]: Just tried searching up "does Kill on Sight count as griefing?" in Google. All that came up was one thing from Rust, and several teamkill griefing issues from Counter Strike. Your argument is invalid.

Or because Im a realist and I've already done everything there is to be done in this game. I've explored the map, fixed up every car and drove them. Used every weapon. Seen everything. I don't get bored though. Every conflict is new and I take advantage of that. You say to immerse myself in the setting of dayz, and that my "unprepared body and mind" would take very different courses of action. Well, theres something that needs to be said here. Im not stupid. I've played roles like sniper, Ill sit in a bush for hours to wait for people to walk into my sights before a let a bullet loose. I've played Scout for bigger groups that need a rabbit for other players to chase while the big group moves in to loot. I've played Support, laying down suppressing fire while the group flanks the enemies. I've played the Hermit, sitting in the woods hunting deer, cows, fish, rabbits, foxes and boars, while crafting my clothes, gear, and arrows. You're talking to someone who has done everything in this game. I don't have to "immerse" myself into a game to take on different actions. You say I lack imagination, I say you just don't know what you're talking about. You say you care about your character's longetivity. My character has not died since the .59 patch came out. You may call bullshit. Or maybe my strategy of sticking to the shadows and only looting at night just works well. I don't KoS if I'm not geared to a certain extent. I play all encounter scenarios in my head before actually confronting another player. You are toxic towards people who KoS. That's fine. Just know that you are not only toxic to a majority of players, but also to a way of playing. I choose to KoS when I'm sufficiently geared because I have the top gear in the game and there is nothing further for me to do as I have a base already set up. I will shove my top gear into my base, go get top gear again, go to the coast, and present a challenge to everyone. The challenge is trying to kill a geared player who has been alive for very long. I have yet to go back down to the coast this patch, but if you are so against KoS, then maybe you should play a different game. KoS will always exist, whether the community likes it or not. It exists in every survival game ever made. Note: If you want to "act" like how a true person would in an apocalypse, theres the lesser "RP" servers for you. Go play on those and leave the regular servers to people who aren't incredibly toxic.

Im not sure why people hate KoS some goddamn much. Its a strategy of survival. A risky one, but it works. Honestly, if I was in a zombie apocalypse, I'd do whatever it takes to survive, even if it means killing other living humans. However, there'd be limits like children and women and such, but thats all in ethics and morals. This is a GAME, where NOTHING MATTERS. I kill because I want to and it has no effect on my mentality about this GAME. If I want to kill everyone I see, I will. Because it is a GAME. I don't rage when I get KoS'd, I don't have any toxic attitude towards KoS. It's a legitimate survival strategy and if you don't like it, then you should probably leave DayZ entirely because its an integral part of this GAME. Note: The people who are toxic towards KoS are always the ones attached to their gear, even though they say they aren't.
  13. I'd like there to be crashed planes as well as helicopters. They should also have dynamic spawns, like having the crashes in forests or cities.
  14. Didn't see "Optimization" on the list. So I choose Vehicles. Still wondering when my beautiful Hilux will be implemented. Hopefully the new renderer will actually fix FPS in cities like they promised. I should be getting well over 60fps in cities and my PC can barely manage 15.

Home is where the barrel is.

This was......invigorating......My plan was to always toy with my prey for a bit, shoot near them a few times, watch them freak out, and follow them around, such and such. You have opened my eyes to something much larger, survivor. I thank you with beans.
  16. darkrider400

    Have we forgotten our roots?

They need to rework the entire map. The whole thing is just a half-aborted port-over from ArmA 2. They need a team to redevelop the entire map with the new renderer and get rid of the buildings that can't be entered. Literally buildings that can't be entered take up so much useless space and framerate. And the same goes with the grass, whats the point of even having it render if it only renders in a 30m radius and you're lying prone in the grass and cant see yourself when people 800m away can see you like a spotlight at night?

    Wheels and Jerry Cans Space

I just want them to add Dirtbikes. Hopefully they won't all be "shoot-me-Red" colored. I want a black or dark olive/green color so its harder to find when I hide it in the woods.

    Wheels and Jerry Cans Space

See, heres the problem that I find. The character ingame, is decently built, possibly ex-military. He can carry one wheel, while using both arms. Im 17, a little overweight, and not really built. I can carry 3 wheels (My dad has a Yukon XL that I do the maintenance for, the wheels are pretty big) at a time. 1 with each arm, and 1 on my back (I created a little harness). And like the OP, the space that tires occupy is insanely too much. The Hatchback, being the smallest car, could still carry at LEAST 4 in the back, and likely 1 under the rear like most cars now. Shit, you could even strap 1 or 2 down on the roof. Yet, the inventory doesn't even allow for 2 wheels.

    Rally Race Anyone?

I fixed up an Offroad Hatchback today and took it for a spin, heres a short little video, you might want to turn volume down a tad, could be loud for some people, wasnt loud for me though. :D Here's my Reddit post for a bit more content and aftermath: https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/3y9dth/rally_race_anyone/
  20. So, as the title states, this vehicle could probably win any donut competition out there. I'm currently running on three wheels because the game is trolling me and spawning every other wheel except Offroad, and the manual transmission is being a cock. Whenever I try to move, it goes really slow, and then revs way the hell up and spins out, even on flat ground. Since I'm a pretty big veteran of racing games, I know when to shift a car with the right RPM's, and no matter the gear, even at the highest gear, itll rev wayyy up really fast and spin out. Do I need 4 tires to make it not do constant donuts? Also, is there a way to change a car back to good ol' automatic transmission? EDIT: Got the 4th tire. Still does donuts like a retarded mini-cooper.
  21. darkrider400

    Offroad Hatchback = Donut Machine

Report: Nevermind, fixed the problem. Read some dudes post about the Volha acting like it was on ice. Repaired the tires, then took them off and put them back on, fixed it and now im hauling ass down dirt roads like im in a DiRT 3 trailblazer event.

    Lack of everything

Well, if you stay on the coastline, thats your problem, you gotta move inland for loot. I'll only spend about 20 minutes in the game and already have a decent rifle and pistol with several dozen rounds for them, plenty of food and drink, and some decent camo clothing.

    My first kill

This was a long time back, when only the SKS, Mosin and M4 were in the game. I only had about 50 hours into the game at that point though. I was running with my friend between Kamyshovo and Elektro, fully geared (I had M4 with several couple-mags, friend had an SKS), and we met up with a new spawn. We decided to try out the newly implemented handcuffs, and to our delight, they worked splendidly. Our newspawn friend was now handcuffed in the middle of the road begging for release. About 2 minutes into our interrogation simulation (beating the shit outta him with our fists while screaming random question at him), he told us he had friends coming for us. About 3 minutes later we see about 10 (yes, 10) newspawns running down the road. They reach us and demand that their friend be released, we said "not unless you have ammo or food", and because they were fresh and had not looted anything, they had none of those items. All of a sudden the handcuffed guy broke free (turns out one of his friends actually had a hacksaw and had secretly sawed it off), and they unleashed a hella scary battle cry. They charged us, fists raised. Me and my friend booked it down the road, and managed to get far enough away to turn around and look. They were still coming, so while my friend went prone and started firing, and crouched and sprayed the living hell outta my couple-mags. I watched bodies fall upon bodies and blood spray from every bodily area. It was a massacre. Now that I think back on it, it seemed fun, but in the moment I was scared for my life and that had been my first-ever PvP situation.

0.59- Shout out to a Hero in Chernobyl!

Because the way someone dresses can describe their personality. A person dressing in lightly colored clothing doesnt mind being seen, isn't trying to hide, I'd give them a little more friendly consideration. A person dressed in dark or camo clothing (like myself, I use summer hunting clothes), doesnt want to be seen easily, but isn't trying to fully hide or engage in combat, less consideration, using caution. A person dressed in military clothing (gorka, TTSKO), focus' on military tactics, secures ammo and weapons when possible, doesn't like confrontation and uses violence whenever possible, avoid if possible use extreme caution. A person wearing a mask, run away or blow his fucking head off.

0.59- Shout out to a Hero in Chernobyl!

My 2 rules of DayZ. 1: Don't trust newspawns, they have nothing to lose so they tend to bonzai charge. (You can approach these wild beasts, but do not get too close or too comfortable around them) 2: If somebody is wearing a mask (not including gas mask), kill them, kill them, burn them with fire, and kill them again.
