    enb series

I think so far, you'd have to ask the devs about that, if it alters gameplay or files in any way, I sure you could get yourself a VAC ban, besides, I don't think there is any mods for DayZ SA anyway. :|

Turning up volume = flipping the bird

I know you can disable the F1-12 keys for regular actions like volume, brightness, etc, because I've done it on my Gateway laptop. Search up how to disable F key actions, you should come across something rather quickly. You can also change the Insult key attachment, theres plenty of key combos for that.
  3. Yeah, I think he meant me, I was saying I thought it was a problem with the Hoster of the server. But yeah, I completely support you, character losses and wipes are part of development, if in order to make a change an character data is in the way, by all means wipe it  , and like you said, it clearly states on the Steam page that in Alpha, everything is subject to change.
  4. Oh, and I think I was the only one saying it's the Hoster's fault.
  5. For one, that PS was rude and unacceptable, these fine devs are doing everything they can to get this game running and stable, AND, if you read the main description on Steam, the game is in ALPHA, not BETA, so everything will be barebone structure, losing your character should even be regular NECESSITY at this point. Why I say this is because, not only is everyone treating this like some kind of Open Beta, or Full Blown Game, but your also missing the point. You always see games like War Thunder and World of Tanks on the market, when these games switched from Alpha to Beta, EVERYTHING was wiped, EVERY account was completely wiped, you even had to re-register! Losing a character is also like dying, it resets you so you can do the challenge of survival again. Act as if it's part of the game dude, and don't think this is some Global Beta or anything, this game is still being constructed as we play, compared to the DayZ Mod main structure, this is dirt, it doesn't have vehicles or anything, but then again, this is Alpha, once everything is completed, DayZ Mod will be dirt and DayZ SA will be King. B)
  6. At this point in time, Im starting to think it could be a client error, in which, you should check your client cache from Steam, verify that it is completely there, and lay off the hardcore servers for a little while, maybe until the next update. Sorry if I can't provide any technical support, I'm not a dev here.
  7. Than, and yeah same here, I've been playing everyday for at least a week and I've switched servers and my character has still saved.
  8. Alright, step 1: chill out, step 2: let me explain and get yourself to cool off. The problem is server<company formed. In the meaning that, the devs aren't COMPLETELY to blame here. The game is there and fine, but the ISP servers from official (Hive connected anyway) servers, because some, if not most, cant always be 100% compatible (not game terms) with the client of the game. The devs CAN fix this, but it would be a shorter amount of time if the devs worked along with the custom server hosts, but that isn't always possible. Now, I too have had this issue, but, only with hardcore difficulty servers, not with regular servers. Also, try connecting servers closest to your area of connection. Thats about the only thing I can do to help at this point, sorry. :(
  9. I think(but not 100% sure) that the problem is, your character data is getting lost in-between server changes. Not only that, but Hardcore is a new mode, not necessarily in the fact of new things, but that the data in mainly new and servers aren't that used to it's new code. When you log onto a server, the Hive renders that data into a physical data form, in the form of a character, but when you log off, it has to de-render that physical data back to written data. I think the problem is when you log off, your character data isn't completely de-rendered, so the data is lost, when the data is lost, it cannot be retrieved, so it creates a new character for a replacement. Most likely the only solution is fixing the server itself, a process which can only be done by the ISP.
  10. So you'd rather risk getting killed and losing your stuff, then randomly losing your stuff?
  11. Yeah, most likely the servers are still trying to get the servers fitted with the main update, its a big load to attach to most characters, and at times when the server has 10-20 people on it, the server base can't always keep the data, so, like an aircraft needing to lose weight, it dumps the memory, like the fuel dump of an aircraft. Its not usually needed for servers, as most can handle it, but when its not an official server from Bohemia, the server dependance is from a local ISP, which doesn't have as much memory to sustain every character like an industrial server does. :(
  12. Again, another problem grounds this idea to a halt, encrypting files is pretty hard to do, especially with a small company like Bohemia. Also, when the client/game goes to load the file, it would take a while to decrypt the file, depending on how much encryption is required to seal the file. During the decryption stage, a coder could easily access the game's index in order to see the process on how to decrypt the file, rendering the encryption type useless :(
  13. When you make 34 million dollars from sales, you can do a lot with it. B)
  14. That would take wayyyyy too long, just filter through the servers that say Hardcore, Experimental or Testing
  15. The problem with that being, if you stored it locally, its only guaranteed that someone with coding experience would design a program to access the save files to be able to edit the inventory. Saving characters on their network is a very secure way to store it, as whoever would try to access their mainframe would be arrested because its against federal law.
  16. Btw, I'd explain how packet loss works, but some people don't understand. :P
  17. Its most likely just your internet connection to the server base that is bad, choose a server closest to your area. Also, when you empty a clip/mag onto the ground, you don't lose the ammo forever, the amount you dropped is on the ground. But yeah, don't download anything while on DayZ, it severely affects gameplay, at least for me, your probably going through some packet loss when you try to pick up or set down items. :)
  18. Yeah, i just realized that, i thought it meant server uptime, like how long its been on since restart. silly me :D

    24/7 Day and Night servers

Obviously, there is 24/7 day serves, but when I go to these servers, because I hate night, its ALWAYS night, every time I go on 24/7 day servers, it is always night. I dont know if it is my game, or if it is the server, I have not been on a server at daytime in over a week. :(

    24/7 Day and Night servers

alrighty, thanks then..... drop on the sarcasm a little bit, your appearing douchey :|
  22. Im not addressing this directly to Rocket, but, whenever I join a 24/7 Day server, it is never day. I don't know if the server is messed, or my client is messed, but I haven't been on a day server in more than a week.
  23. We won't get any info if we DO bitch about it, either way, we're still not gonna get that info, it'll be done when they finish it.
  24. Ah that sucks, just ramp up your brightness and gamma all the way, it'll help in the least. Helps to take the time to find a day server, probably helps when i dont go searching on american servers at 11pm :P
  25. oh yeah man, devs must be so tired of hearing this! The one thing you never ask a dev, is a time or end date.
