Hey don't look at me I just added that so I wouldn't get told off for saying hurr durr alpha like you asked me too...... I see what you did there.... Well played sir. honestly I don't care and I think there are too many people who like to freak out about something I consider to be nothing. What does concern me is bigger things like loot balancing and spawning, fixing the amateur "wall hacks" making night playable because after all said and done I don't care what the can looks like, as long as the contents will keep me alive.

hurr durr it's an alpher I'm not particularly fussed I narrowly avoided starving to death I've only found a pair of cargo pants and haven't even seen a can of anything, not that I've found anything to open it with. Join me on the survivor coastal challenge, then you won't care if it tactical bacon or picked dicks.

I feel it's pretty weak to bail from a server because of a bit of rain and honestly the people who are doing that are probably not going to be with us till the finished product. They might come back then for the Deathmatch with Zombies mods it saddens me a little, but I'm not crying, it's just been raining on my face.

Also a quick note, if you kick users from your server then they can complain to the provider and your server will be "taken down" without a refund.

Why you should be playing on Experimental.

ah 50 last time I played -
Complain isn't a good word, constructive criticism is. Complaining about something doesn't fix it, neither does it help anyone as a tester you should be fine with the game being broken right now. While I'd love to play it I can't right now the stable is busted and the only experimental servers I saw last time I tried where UK and DE so not much good from NA. People throwing around Alpha doesn't help either and it also doesn't add anything constructive to the forums and shows that the person isn't concerned about that, they are merely looking to put someone down as quickly as possible. A post with a bit of thought behind it will add a lot more and maybe help the person understand the reasoning behind it. Although that isn't always true. I'm sure in the disclaimer(s) that we had to go through to purchase and every time we play that they said there is a number of things that may go wrong in the worst way possible making the game unplayable or words to that effect. So while I'm itching to play I know that I can't until the Dev team get the situation handled. I also understood that this kind of thing may happen and agreed to abide by that if they did.

Window Licker replied to Dreypa's topic in General Discussion
As a matter of curiosity, do you know what happens in the book of job? it's been a bloody long time but the gist of it is bad thing's happen to him... a lot of bad things, so working as intended, Easter egg from the dev team. -

You have passed the final DayZ test, killing a ninja, well done.
-
Noted for future testing, do you recall exactly which items they where?

No they are just making sure it works, also being that raincoats don't function it would bloody suck if they did people would be dropping like flies. I'm confident that they will add more items to protect you from the weather. Being able to loot when others are trapped in door's or sheltered under a tree it a good incentive to carry that kind of gear with you, but then how much of your precious backpack space will you be giving up for it? Although I can carry more then I need with an improvised pack and decent slotted clothing.

Why you should be playing on Experimental.
Window Licker replied to Forrelist's topic in General Discussion
The thing that concerns me about post's like this is we really want people on experimental that are going to report bug's Ive reported and up voted a fair bit from being there and I feel that advertising as a more fun/better version is giving the wrong impression. -
Believe the timer was predominantly to stop ghosting, all it does is annoy hoppers. Those who are serious about hopping don't care, and are proud members of the fresh spawn murder and gun delivery for skilled players group.

how will this zombie tracking work then?
Window Licker replied to irl-calibre's topic in General Discussion
Shoot and move and you have a chance to get away before they aggro. -
I will contend that Vietnam is in the tropic's I've lived in that part of the world (northern Queensland, Australia) and while it's very wet the rain has little effect because it's still 30/C 86/F degrees outside. However in the colder parts of the world rain soaking you through will sap you fast as water absorbs heat much faster the air add to that the standard wind chill and the fact that your wet you'd be getting hypothermia very quickly. Even mild Hypothermia takes a considerable time to recover from given that Chenrus is in a much colder climate. Presumed from being able to see breath during the day, the effect of rain would be potentially fatal to the unprepared who ignore it for too long.

Waiting for host / Session Lost / Lag and Desync since last patch
Window Licker replied to icetneo's topic in Troubleshooting
indeed but there has also been several threads in GD for this apparently the search function is broken and has been for some time. -
Well based on that what are you worried about rain doesn't do anything except put a damp indicator on your stuff, other then writing in the inventory screen it has no effect.
-
I've tried to be helpful and you have been informed 2-3 times so last time to be clear. You will need a raincoat and similar waterproof attire if you want to move about in the rain. You will need a campfire or other heat source to dry you off if you decide to move without proper protection. I lick windows and can understand this what's your excuse?

Yes I completely agree, being forced into cover for an extended period of time would be pretty shitty and once I'd eaten I'd be fairly much bored waiting for it to stop. I very much doubt this would be the case in however and while I've not read anything specific about it, I'm sure they will add more wet weather gear and get the raincoats working properly before they start making the cold kill you. The other thing to take into consideration is how much space does your backpack have? the addition of multiple items that are all useful in their own way make the decision about what to keep a very tough one, even now with the reduction of backpacks, I've found myself debating between medical supplies, food or the burlap sack and sticks to make a bag. By forcing us to make decisions based on our opinion of what we need, they add a critical element to the game, it feels to me that this is designed to encourage team play while allowing for a resourceful survivor to still walk alone.

Yeah that's a big thing about buying a game that's in alpha, not everything is there and you don't clearly know what to expect from the finished product. While personally I'm extremely happy about the plans for the games others like yourself are a little less enthused. I'm very sure that once released there will be a number of excellent mods and you will be able to find one that caters to your personal tastes.
