^^ I'm pretty much with janol on this one, the fields aren't overgrown, the grass is long but not super long. The infected have been able to feed tho thats why they want to be friends with us. Keeping in mind that these things take a bit of time to happen, heavy residential area's might have been evacuated/abandoned while farms held out for a bit longer. I know if some crazy virus started spreading through the americas I'd be getting the hell away from high population centres. I'd be inclined to throw my guess at 1-2 months since everything went completely to shit, might be as much as 6-12 months from patient 0

No I'd never played the mod before, it was literally my first experience. I just figured that roads would connect other towns, towns would need power and high voltage lines would provide power to larger centres. I wasn't looking for specific towns I was just looking for the resources to survive. edit: land need's to be higher then the water otherwise it wouldn't be land, I didn't know which way north was either it didn't matter, survival mattered. final edit: I did get lost, after walking in the forest for a while I became very committed to walking near roads

Had one, found it in a hospital in the stairwell 2nd floor kinda near the coast on approach to cherno, it was dark as fuck and I don't go that way often

In response: Pretty much, Your shirt likely didn't disappear but sometimes it can take a sec for it to come up best thing it to put down something you don't need move your shirt into your pants or a bag and turn it into rags from there, that way you won't have to wait for it to appear. If you see a shirt on the ground look at it and scroll the mouse wheel you'll have the option to turn it into rags, in games where I have a hard time finding bandage's I'll do this until I have a stack of 6 (max stack size). Finding gear can be a little more interesting, if you find that every house around your spawn location has been stripped take the next road inland, walk in the bush/trees next to it until you find a town, power poles can be used to find towns and the high voltage line's (or daddy power line) connect the major cities in the game as well. there is a guide to surviving in my sig and a pvp/avoiding kos guide for you.

ROADS CONNECT TOWNS, TRAIN TRACKS CONNECT TOWNS, POWER LINES CONNECT TOWNS, LAND SLOPES DOWN TOWARD THE COAST. my very first game, with my very first life, I went inland and used these techniques to get to what I now know is little cathedral, but it was night time and I couldn't find water in the dark (didn't know what well's looked like) and managed to trek all the way BACK to the coast using my all caps advices. All at night time and without any 3rd party maps.

Can't wait for the next wave of battle eye bans, that's always a good time lots of "innocent" people's friends get banned "instantly" cos a hacker did something near them and it's a severe case of mistaken identity "swear to god, I'm not even lying" you all know this is going to be a constant back and forth.

If you where headed north alone the coast, that's the first problem, going inland will get you items as the northern most coastal town was added in the last patch people are stripping the east coat on the way up to check it out.

yep, they are options, there's road, train tracks and high voltage lines linking cities and towns. going from spawn to Berezino then to Cherno is a bloodly long way to do it. Berezino is getting picked clean because 1. people are realizing it's not such a bad place to end up. 2. The new town in the north has everyone wanting to check it out.

Actually I came expecting a half cocked idea puked out of the mind of someone wanting the game to be easier. Pouring Bean's for a tidy and well thought out idea, I really like it hope dev's take notice something like this would give reason to be raiding hospitals procuring medical supplies add in the medic hard hats that someone suggested a while ago. Not even trolling just a round about way of telling people that if an entire server is running to Slev or whatever the hell. they are gonna strip every resource on the way. When I finally got on the experimental server, I found 2 cans of food and nearly starved to death by time I'd reached Slev which was also empty as hell.

I actually think the dev team went throu and actively enforced night time on all servers. Usually the servers will cycle day/night according to local time, but it was still light out when I got in game but all servers where set to night

People are probably have a go at you for this, I think it's just fine as is, and feel they are good systems particularly for a survival game. What I did to get around having to eat every 5 mins was loot every item of food I could find, eat it all or until I'm full horde more food, ran about for a bit eat till stuffed again, repeat till my character is healthy once that's done eating becomes a side note and I carry 3-4 cans of food pausing to eat when I feel a good portion of time has passed.

I don't understand why people are being so emotional, it's a good idea if you only play on 1PP server why do you give a fuck what the others are doing?

I might take a punt and say that he either did this to demonstrate who the game is intended for and/or to make it hard for people who lost their char instead of being like oh zed run around maybe take some care around them... I have found that discharging the shotgun is an excellent way to attract zombies, but even with the gamma/bright "hack" or whatever you like to call it, I couldn't see them at all (two feet in front of me chewing on my face)and kinda guessed where they where by running backwards for a bit. Once I was out of shells, I did the classic turn the flashlight on so the last thing I see is whats gonna eat me. In my head my guy screamed in terror and they began eating him alive and some distant distant survivor alerted by the shot's closes their eyes, crosses themselves then stalks off into the night. Being eaten by about 4 zombies was a nice change to being gunned down, so maybe he's onto something.

Hey as you all have seen in the green strip along the top there a maintenance in about a half hour, Anyone know if it's related to patching/server hopping or just a routine maintenance?
